Advantages: Nice colours, easy to apply, lasts quite long

Disadvantages: Better eyeshadows out there

Collection 2000 is not really a favourite make up brand of mine, but I do like to go to their section of the cosmetics store to buy cheap products, as I often have done. Their make up is quite cheap compared to many of the other high street cosmetics brands available, and their quality, though not always completely excellent is often better than I would have expected from the price; it gives you very good value for money.

I was given this Colour Intense Eyeshadow Trio as a gift, and gratefully accepted it even though it is not the most classy of products, nor did I have any particular need for a new eyeshadow at the time. However, I am always open to trying new products, and I was rather intrigued by this to see how it would work out.

Because it was a gift, I was not really sure how much was paid for it, though I sure that it did not cost too much since it is a relatively small product from a relatively cheap cosmetics company. On the Boots website, the product with the same name costs £2.99. However, the picture that Boots has displayed is different from the product I own- it is more square and the eyeshadow trio is arranged in vertical strips instead of horizontal ones. The product of which I am reviewing is the one displayed on the dooyoo page- maybe this is something to bear in mind when reading this review.

I have to say, though, their packaging is not at all too attractive or with much class- I could only describe it as slightly tacky, as it looks like the kind of thing young teens would hand out to their friends in party bags. It is made of a lightweight colourless clear plastic (so you can see the eyeshadow trio inside) which is very portable, and their is not too much on it that would particularly interest anyone. The front can be prised open and flipped back quite easily, giving you access to the eyeshadow. It has 'Collection 2000', its logo and several bubbly circles on the front, which are all pink apart from 2 circles, which are white. Stuck on the back there is a black label with silver lettering.

It also comes with a small and spongy double ended brush that is easy and comfortable to use when you are applying it on your eye lids. It does feel a little cheap quality, but it does much better than no brush at all. It has its own section underneath the eyeshadow trio, though it can slip out when you lift up the lid.

I got the colour trio of ZENITH (07), a selection of (relatively) natural shades. The top is a creamy beige, the lightest of the three. Under that is a sort of goldy bronze colour and on the bottom is a nice chocolate brown. All three are not matte, but contain quite a lot of a shimmer to them (though the shimmer looks more subtle when the eyeshadow is applied than it looks in its palette), which looks nice and adds a little something extra to your eye lids.

The texture is very nice and does not feel uncomfortable or heavy on my eye lids at all. It is not too powdery and feels very smooth when brushed on. The powder brushes easily on and, thankfully, manages to stay on with no problems at all.

The eyeshadow did last for quite some time, a few hours at least, without fading or smudging. This was far better than many eyeshadows I have used in the past. On the back, it says that it 'Lasts up to 8 hours'. Well, I would not say 8 hours, but it lasts long enough for me. Yes, there are many more products which can do far better than this, but for a relatively cheap product, this does remarkably well.

Overall, I would say that this is a good eyeshadow, especially for the relatively small price that is paid for it. Obviously, far better products can be found on the market and this is far from my dream product (thus the docking of one star) but there is no denying that this is fabulous value for money. Therefore, I would give this 4 out of 5 dooyoo stars.

Summary: Worth the money
