      A decent priced eyeshadow

      I have spent the last month adding to my make up collection since one of my wonderful dogs decided it was great fun to rifle through and ruin a few of my items. Mainly my eyeshadows and blushers were the victims so I have spent time replacing the items and at the same time trying to save a bit of money. Cue Collection 2000, now there are a few items I won't skimp on but when it comes to eyeshadows I am not so fussy with.

      Collection 2000 is a brand associated with budget prices and although I don't like all of their products I have used, their solo eyeshadows have been used by myself for a few years now and I have been more than happy with them. They have recently gone through a major rebranding and packaging is very different. The Collection 2000 Intense Solo Eyecolour was one item rebranded. I have several of their shades; Steel Grey, Rosy Gold and Midnight Sky being the most common I use for a night out.

      == Going Solo ==

      The solo eyeshadows have not only been rebranded but also have a brand new formula. They contain "colour popping pigments" which ensures each shade gives a vibrant colour which has an iridescent hue to give that lovely sheen for an ideal finish. There are 10 lovely shades to choose from, one of the only collections whereby I could easily buy every shade available ranging from the lighter tones to the deeper plums and blues.

      == Packaging ==

      Now I have a solo eyeshadow in the previous packaging whereby it is in a clear case with pink circles on the front and I also have an eyeshadow from the new range which is a black case which features a clear window so you can easily see the shade you have bought. The new packaging does make the brand look a bit more grown up and classy as the old case did look a bit cheap and naff. Just remember that these don't come with an applicator brush so you will need one unless of course you apply with your finger.

      == In Use ==

      The eyeshadow in the new style packaging has been finished off in a dome shape which according to Collection 2000 this makes it easier when using a brush to sweep it off and then onto the eyelid. Now as I said above I have the previous style and the new style and I really don't see much difference when I apply.

      Being a powder eyeshadow it isn't hard to apply. You simply sweep your applicator brush or finger tip over the eyeshadow and then gently apply to the eyelid. I have found that the eyeshadow isn't too fine for powder to go everywhere but it is gentle enough to get an even coverage over the eyelid without it looking too thick. I have found with the darker colours that you get a vibrant colour straight away with just one application but with a paler colour it does need applying several times to build the colour up.

      The eyeshadow lasts well throughout the day/night but again I have found differences with the darker and lighter shades. The darker seem to fade easier and can look a little lack lustre after a few hours so they do need reapplying just to keep the colour at its best and the lighter shade seems to cope better which I guess is because I apply it several times to get a decent colour which probably makes it last longer. However, the eyeshadow is incredibly easy to remove with a wipe of a make up wipe etc.

      == Shades I Own ==

      Rosy Gold: One of the paler shades available. It is a lovely gentle gold colour with a hue of pink. An ideal everyday colour as it isn't offensive.

      Steel Grey: Exactly what it says a deep grey which has a lovely shimmer to it. Grey with a hue of blue almost. Ideal to blend with a lighter shade such as Ice Queen or a pale silver.

      Midnight Sky: A lovely deep blue colour which again has that iridescent finish to it. Again, another blendable colour.

      == Overall ==

      I really do like these eyeshadows, incredibly versatile and they give a lovely even looking finish. They are easy to apply and even easier to remove. The only thing is the darker shades seem to fade easier and can crease so need to be reapplied a bit more frequently. However, on the whole for the price they are ideal. 4 stars from me.
