Advantages: great colour on those lashes whenever you fancy a change

Disadvantages: none

Looking through my magazine, I spot an advert with coloured mascara on it.

'Oh' I said to myself, I have never seen any other colours than electric blue or black or maybe brown now and again for your eyelashes. I have never seen purple or turquoise coloured mascara.
'That looks worth a try I said to myself.' So shopping in town one weekend, on my own (sometimes I just like the sanity of myself so I go alone) and looking around my superdrug store, I spot the collection 2000 mascara that I was looking for, and which the advert had advertised. With silver lids, and then a clear tube to see what the colour is of the mascara, I hastily buy it and can't wait until I get home and try it. I must be mad I thought to myself, buying mascara that is a totally funky and different colour to normal stuff. People are going to start going a little funny on me if I have turquoise eyelashes. Oh well I thought, stuff em, I like it, I will get it, and wear it to suit my outfits, or to parties.

The packaging
Silver lids and see through tubes make this product look stylish and trendy. I don't know what it's made out of but it looks like a thick strong plastic that is hard wearing and not easily broken. There is a price bar keeping the lid and tube together and this I imagine is the seal.

There are two languages on the mascara packaging, English and what I guess is French. It says that the mascara is meant to condition and separate which sounds like a good thing on mascara. This is an 8ml tube that I am reviewing, but in two different colours, as I thought I might as well go for the plunge and buy two different colours. No 16, purple, and No 15 teal. The writing on the purple tubing seems bolder and larger, yet the writing on the teal colour seems smaller and paler against the colour of the mascara. Both are written in the colour gold.
Upon opening the mascara, I see that the brush's end has more spaced out twirls on it than any mascara that I have ever seen. I started thinking to myself, well wouldn't this gloop your eyelashes together a little more? Well, I guess I will have to wait until the test. The wand is easy to get out of the tube and I am greeted with a baby shampoo type smell which is different and weird. The mascara isn't sticky or too stiff when I pull the stick out of the tube.

The mascara application
Now, this is one thing I am going to take from my No 7 mascara opinion, because you all need to know how to apply mascara, and this is really simple, so these are the easy steps:

When applying mascara, always apply it as the last thing in your eye make up. Apply you eyeliner and eye shadow first
Next, open up the mascara, and sweep the brush of the stick on your eyelashes, in an upwardly movement. If you want to make them really long, sweep across quite a few times. Now get your eyelash comb, and comb through your eyelashes while they are still wet. This will get rid of any gloopiness the mascara has left. It will also untangle your eyelashes if they have crossed over or tangled up during the application of it.

This eyelash mascara was easily applied, but I found that I had to use the eyelash comb a little more because my eyelashes seemed to gloop together a little more. The twirls of the wand I think were a little too spaced out, and so that is why they seemed to stick together a little more. The waterproofness of the mascara was okay, as it would last through a tiny crying session, but if I accidentally had a little water spilt on me, like the rain for instance, it seemed to want to roll down my face easily. The colour was good on my eyelashes, but the colour purple only seemed to show in certain lights, so people couldn't really tell. The turquoise however, stood out more and I found that that one became the one I used more often for parties and meals out, to go with the outfits that I chose to wear. I found I had to reapply the mascara once every six-seven hours, otherwise the colour had faded too much by that time, and didn't show.
Conclusion

Overall, this is a good mascara to buy for colouring eyelashes, and there are many colours within the range. If you need a different colour for a party, a meal out, or just for the fun of it, I do recommend this mascara, and it isn't even that expensive to buy. I rate this product as a seven out of ten, because the colour faded within six hours on my eyelashes, and was pretty much gone by the seventh hour, and the fact that it wasn't that waterproof, so I had blue or purple streaks down my face. The purple colour needed to be brighter I think, to have actually stood out, or to be seen by others.
