Advantages: Looks good if you can get it right
Disadvantages: doesn't last too long
I have never had a huge amount of luck with eyeliner - especially liquid eyeliner, but after trying Collection 2000's glam crystals glitter eyeliner, which looked amazing (I've lost it though, so I'm gutted!) I decided to try their eye definition liquid eyeliner.
~What is it?~
This is a liquid eyeliner made by budget brand collection 2000. I buy quite a lot of collection 2000 bits and pieces, despite the fact it's very cheap, I find that a lot of the products aren't too bad. I'm not sure how many colours this comes in, but I have the black one - shade 1, Ebony.
~Packaging~
This comes in a black bottle with silver writing and a silver lid. The packaging is quite plain but I like the way the shape of the lid gets slightly wider at the top. On removing the lid, you will see that the eyeliner has a very narrow tapered brush with which to apply the liner.
~Application~
The annoying thing for me when it comes to liquid eyeliner, is that you need to have a very steady hand in order to apply it well. I initially thought that it may be easier to apply this if you hand was nearer to the tip of the brush, which isn't possible as this has a really long handle. To be honest though, now I have got used to it, I don't think it makes too much difference, as the tip of the brush is very long and fine, applying it doesn't seem to different no matter where your hand is positioned - but you do still need to keep your hand steady with this.
Considering I found the glam crystals glitter liquid eyeliner so easy to apply, I still have a bit of an issue applying this, and usually have to do it a couple of times before I get a straight line. I think this is mainly because it is black, mistakes show up more clearly on my skin.
~Results~
Once I have managed to get a straight line, I find this looks quite good. Because of the way my eye creases, not a lot of my eyelid can actually be seen, so if I am wearing too thick eyeliner it looks ridiculous -almost like I have put black eye shadow on! That is where this is really good, as it gives quite a thin line, it looks like it is supposed to!
The colour of the eyeliner is quite strong - a very intense black, so great for a dramatic effect.
Unfortunately the staying power of this stuff isn't too great - I find that it wears off pretty quickly, which is a pain in the neck, as I am always too worried to re-apply it when I'm out in case I end up with it all over my face!
~Price~
This costs £2.78 from Asda, and I think it was about £2.99 in Boots where I bought it.
~Conclusion~
This is OK, but I will not buy it again. The staying power isn't great and although I find that it gives a nice thin line, I am still not very confident applying it, so probably wouldn't buy it again just because of that.
