Advantages: Cheap, good quality liner, easy to use

Disadvantages: Draws quite a thick line

Being a student, I am always eyeing up the lovely shiny expensive makeup brands... and then sadly walking past them to the cheaper stuff. I always wonder whether you get what you pay for and if the expensive brands might be better quality - but when it comes to eyeliner, this is the absolute best and I would be happy with it if I had paid double the price!

Collection 2000 Fast Stroke Eyeliner retails for around £2.99 (although it is frequently included in special offers) and comes in a few different colours although only the black is available online at the moment - I have purchased gold, purple, and green versions in store. It also comes in a waterproof version, although I personally don't like this as much as the regular version, as I feel it is drier and doesn't create as dense a line.

The eyeliner pot contains about 3.5ml of eyeliner and has a long thin lid that is easy to hold and use as the brush handle. I find that this amount lasts me about six months, although I only wear liquid eyeliner on a night out, so probably about once or twice a week. The eyeliner itself is a nice dense black that you will not need to go over again and again. It's just durable enough to last all day, without being an absolute nightmare to take off in the evening - makeup wipes will take it off easily and quickly.

The applicator inside the bottle is about 7mm long, cone-shaped, and made of a fairly stiff spongy material. It's extremely easy to use and as someone with pretty wobbly hands and a tendency to draw wavy lines, I'd recommend this type of applicator tip over those eyeliners with more delicate brush tips. I apply quite a thick line, and the applicator is perfect for this, but if you like your eyeliner very thin, this may not be the best type of brush for you.

It's a fabulous eyeliner that has become one of the essential items in my makeup bag - and it's so cheap that it's not an absolute disaster if I lose it somewhere, as I frequently do!

Summary: Excellent value-for-money
