Advantages: Easy to use, lasts all day
Disadvantages: none
I'm a bit of a makeup junkie. I need it daily, and if lose sight of my make up bag I have been known to break into a cold sweat. My family know and understand about my addiction, so when my Mum tried, but couldn't get on with Collection 2000 fast stroke eyeliner, she gave it to me as she knew that I would give it a good home!
I'm not sure why my Mum bought this in the first place, she has never been able to apply eyeliner without making herself look like a panda, so I just want to clear up that her giving up on this product was not because she didn't like it, she simply can't use it. I have used eyeliner on my upper lashes every day for fifteen years, and I have used many different brands, but this is one of the best that I have ever had.
This eyeliner is a bargain at only £2.43 for 3.5ml, and the Collection 2000 range can be found in a wide variety of shops, including Boots, Superdrug, and Asda. It is available in three colours - Black, blue and brown. The packaging is sleek and simple, the pot which contains the eyeliner is tiny, but it has all of the information on it that you need to know: It tells you the Ingredients, to shake before use, that it will last for six months once opened, and a contact address for Collection 2000.
The applicator forms the lid to the pot, as you can see in the picture above. It is about 7cm long, and it fits very comfortably in your hand. The applicator is a bit like a felt tip pen, and it has a very fine end so that you can draw a precise line. I have never really got on with brush applicators because they can be too flimsy and give you a splodgy result if you are not really concentrating, but this applicator stays firm even after months of use. The liner is the perfect consistency; it flows nicely across the eyelid and dries very quickly. I know that you have to have the required skill to apply eyeliner neatly, but this product makes it really simple, and I can't understand why my mother couldn't use it.
I thought that because of the bargain price, it would be a shoddy product, but I was very wrong. This eyeliner lasts all day, and doesn't wear off even when I am hot and sweaty in the gym (yes, I even wear make up at the gym), and when I rub my itchy and weepy eyes due to hay fever it stays firmly put. When I do want to get it off, it washes off easily with face wash, or comes off qiuckly with a baby wipe. I have sensitive eyes, and many products irritate and sting my eyes, but this doesn't at all, it just feels really comfortable.
One pot of this eyeliner last for ages. I am on my third one now, and it usually lasts me about six months, using it every day so it is excellent value. This product really gives the more expensive brands a run for their money, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. Thanks mum for introducing me!
Summary: A great product at a fantastic price

- 06/07/09 I'll have to check this one out, it sounds pretty good, but I just bought one from ELF for £1.50 so I'll see how that one goes! Pretty interested to see how "waterproof" it is lol :) |
