I cannot believe that this has been given an average rating of five stars! I'm a huge make up enthusiast and this is just horrible.

I bought this from Boots about a month ago. I'd been using the same liquid eyeliner from a Superdrug brand for about 6 months and wanted to try something different. This is in a nice packaging, was nicely displayed and also a good price, so I bought it without opening it up and having a look. When I got home, I told my friend I'd bought some new make up. When she has a rummage through my bag and picked this out, she told me how she and her sister both use this eyeliner. She said they each bought one of this product each and that hers really irritates her eyes and smudges constantly, whereas her sister's is fine. I thought maybe hers had been part of a dodgy batch, but clearly mine is too!

The eyeliner, for me, is difficult to apply. The brush is less of a brush and more of a stick, so is quite stiff and rigid and doesn't give much leeway when trying to create different shapes and such. The product does really, really sting my eyes. When I put it on my upper eyelid, I can almost feel it soaking into my eyelid and into the white of my eye. Sometimes it isn't so bad, I just feel a bit uncomfortable. Others my eyes completely burn and I have to wash it off. My friends have asked if it's definitely the eyeliner, not a mascara/eye shadow, but I've gone out with just this on as a make up and it's stung my eyes. The eyeliner is wet and gloopy and just generally hard to apply.
