I have been wearing and trying out different make up for years. I have now found what foundation and powder work well for me but I like to regularly wear and buy different eye and lip products. Mascaras are the thing which I buy the most, this is because a lot of mascaras are very cheap so it is worth trying out a few. I have tried many different high end brands and cheaper ones like this. I like to mix and match and wear high end with cheaper sometimes as layering mascaras makes your eye lashes appear fuller and longer.
I have tried most of the collection 2000 mascaras because of the price. The low priced and if is worth the risk. The packaging of collection 2000 mascaras are always very bold and interesting. They each have a unique and distinct design. I really like this about these mascaras.
This mascara is probably one of the best mascaras that Collection 2000 have made. This mascara is easy to layer and does not get clumpy and thick. This mascara is super easy to apply. The great brush in this tube is what makes it so easy to apply this to my lashes. It looks naturals and stays in place all day, unlike other mascaras which run black under my eyes. I rated this a product a 5/5 because it is an affordable mascara which you can apply one natural layer of, or apply a few coats for a more dramatic look.
I tend to switch between mascaras all the time. I've tried the more expensive brands, the middle brands and the cheaper ones and I've always come back to collection 2000.
I swap between two different ones from the range. This and Volume Sensation mascara.
Now in a different tube from the photo, It is in a bright orange coloured tube with black writing, reading "longer lash" mascara.
I usually buy it in superdrug at just £2.99. Like most women would, I assumed it would be rubbish because it was under £3 whereas most expensive brands sit their prices at around £8.99. I first tried this when a friend had it in her make up bag and I didn't have a mascara with me on our night out so I used hers.
I instantly loved how well it applied to my eye lashes and that it wasn't too thick in consistancy and didn't give me hassle with clumping or it making a mess all around my eyes.
Throughout the night, I kept checking my eyes and making sure the heat of the club we were in, wasn't giving me panda eyes from sweating. No panda eyes!
I really thought this mascara was too good to be true so at the end of the night and being a bit drunk and having known how hot it was in there and I was feeling clammy and horrible, I checked my eye make up before we left.
Brilliant! still no panda eyes!.
When I arrived home, the make up was easy to take off and waking up the next day, I did have black under my eyes, probably from not taking it off properly.
It was a saturday morning so I popped out to town to get some coffee and a quick browse around Superdrug to get the mascara my friend had let me borrow.
I was so shocked to see it for £2.99 and that they were having a 3for2 offer on in superdrug letting me choose other items getting one free. The mascara ended up being the free item as it was the cheapest.
How well does it apply?
I always leave mascara as the last thing I apply. When opening the mascara make sure not to pump the wand into the tube as air will be pumped inside and will dry it out quicker, so it's best to just scrape the wand around the sides then when pulling it out, scrape excess off onto the rim of the opening. I start off with a light application and build it up to get the thickness I want.
This mascara is so easy to apply. With other mascaras i've had problems with blinking and the mascara coming off onto my cheeks but this one doesn't do that. It dries very well and very quickly and won't flake off during the day.
With layering, you will be able to get the right amount of drama for your eyes without it clumping.
This mascara is a must have in my make up bag along with another mascara by the same brand. I love how well the wand distributes the mascara evenly to my eyelashes and doesn't need long to dry.
I would recommend this longer lash mascara to anyone. It is perfect for giving some drama and definition to your eyes and is super easy to apply.
Another good thing about it is that it lasts at least 6 months for me.
Thanks for reading my review.
I love buying make up though for a while now I have been stopping myself buying anymore unless I need it as I was getting overrun with the stuff. One of my least favourite things to buy though is mascara as I find that getting a good one that fulfills any of its claims tough and I hate the clumpy look so its not a product I ever buy for pleasure really lol!
However last week I had to go out and buy a new one. My parents are down for a few days which means going out in the evenings, my stepdad went out bought me some new clothes and things to cheer me up as I haven't been very well of late and so off I went to Boots to find a reasonable priced mascara in a black shade to complete my new look.
At the time of buying this mascara Collection 2000 mascara they had an offer on. You could buy this mascara at its full retail price of £2.99 which seemed a jolly good price to me anyway for a produt such as this or buy from a range of items on offer at 2 items for £5.00 and I bought this and a liquid eyeliner and felt that was a fantastic price to pay.
I bought this in the Ultra Black shade though black and brown/black was also on offer at the time but me I like a real black for using for evenings out really so the decision was simple for me!
The tube this comes in is bright orange and plastic with black writing on it and is 8ml in size. On one side of it we are told that it is Collection 2000 Longer Lash Lengthening Mascara and then on the back of the tube we are told ' Lengthen your lashes! Added fibres for an ultra lengthening effect', then the size is listed (as I have told you already), we are told to use the product up within 6 months of opening it and contact details for collection 2000 are given. Its a nice enough tube this one, quite bright and shiny and the lid twists on/off with ease which of course houses a long plastic and sturdy 'wand' with a thick hair made sort of brush to the bottom of that opposed to anything plasticy and is traditional in style and very robust as is the wand it comes on.
Using this is actually really, really easy. The black liquid looks quite thick but any lumps that the liquid has does come off when you pull the wand out of the tube which is great. The brush is quite thick but easy to use and the wand part is very strong and not wobbly so I am in total control of using it. The brush glides though my eyelashes with no drag at all and the mascara easily coats my lashes very quickly and simply. Any small mistakes you make using this can be quickly rectified and then once its on its on and I find this to stay put until I use my usual make up removing routine to remove it.
The black I chose is rather glossy though naturally so and my eyelashes looked really natural. I can't say this particularly lengthened my eyelashes though which is what is promised on the tube but they did have a natural finish to them and they appeared to look a little fuller than usual and looked great.
This is not a waterproof mascara though I have found with this that even being caught in a massive downpour with this on me it hasn't ran all over my face, it never smudges or flakes and stays put for literally hours until I chose its time to come off.
Although as I have stated I don't think that this really does lengthen lashes sadly I do think it makes them look shinier and more healthy and at £2.99 a tube for a product that lasts ages and is easy to use I do think one is a bit of a beauty steal. I usually pay for more premium products or find them on offer somewhere or other but this is a great everyday sort of mascara for me and I'm more than happy to use it as it never agitates my sensitive eyes so yep its a great product in my opinion and worth every penny it costs and a bit too more though don't tell Collection 2000 I said that!
Available in all good supermarkets and chemists etc and as I mentioned earlier this is on a great offer in Boots at the moment worth snapping up if your interested ladies....and gentlemen!

When it comes to mascara I dont ever think Ill find one that lives up to my very high expectations but that doesnt mean I will stop trying on the never ending search. This product is actually one my mom bought a few weeks back for herself (which is very odd as she's really funny about mascara and only ever buys the products with a high price tag!) and even though she loved it she thought I would probably get more use out of it and so she passed it down to me about a week ago. I have to admit I was a little sceptial for two reasons: 1. Ive found Collection 2000 mascara's to be pretty rubbish in the past & 2. The one she gave me was electric blue. Not that I have a problem with coloured mascara but I just didnt think this one would suit me but I decided to try it out on a night out about a week ago and I absolutely adore this mascara!!
Price: 1.99 !!
Stockists: Boots, Superdrug & Amazon
Shades: Black, Ultra Black, Brown & Electric Blue. As I mentioned previously I personally own the Blue shade so that's the one I will concentrate on in this review.
As well as offering a bright, eye catching colour this mascara also promises the "false lash effect" which in the past Ive found doesnt really exist in mascara but I went into trying this one with an open mind.
The packaging isnt anything special but for less than 2 quid I am certainly not complaining! The one I own is exactly like the one in the picture although the blue is slightly brighter so I think you'll agree nothing amazing but not bad for the price either. And thank god this mascara has a normal shape & sized brush! It is simply rounded slightly and average size which suits me perfectly as it definately does the job and manages to reach all my lashes without being flexible, spoon shaped or anything else. Ordinary!
In just one stroke the colour this gives is amazing and very bright so really one coat is all that is needed - I did have to go for two though because I wanted something really dramatic. One coat manages to get all your lashes covered in colour without being too gloopy or clumpy and in an instant you have a big flash of colour perfectly coating every lash! The colour of this is very bright so if your not one for attention grabbing colours stay well away but I have to say I loved it. I wasnt sure the colour would compliment me because I felt I didnt have the ideal skintone/eye colour but I have to say I was impressed. Ive recently dyed my hair a bright red shade and this mascara complimented that really well and I think made the colour stand out even more so even if you dont think this would suit you I strongly recommend you try it as you may be surprised - like me!
Ive found this stays on for the best part of the night without flaking or smudging so overall Im really happy. I wouldnt say this gave me the ideal "false lash effect" but it definately made my lashes appear much longer and fuller and I think with this one I would buy it for the colour more than anything else anyway. It will lengthen your lashes considerably but dont expect miracles!
Having said that I would highly recommend this mascara to everyone Ill be going back to stock up on more from the range and I suggest everyone else does as well. A fabulous mascara for less than 2 quid!!

This was one of the first mascaras I ever bought a few years back and it remains as one of my firm favourites now, five years on.
Honestly speaking, this mascara has it all, bar the waterproof properties, but even without that advertised property, it does appear to be waterproof. More on that later.
Firstly, the 'stay proof'-ness of the waterproof is immense. Compared to the Maybelline Great Lash mascara, it stays put for much longer. My experience has been that it stays put with no smudging/melting/whatever else until about ten hours of wear. I'm usually out for nine or so hours or more, so this mascara is perfect for that reason. It also means that reapplication is not necessary. In humid/hot weather, I also perspire fairly easily, and not once has this mascara smudged whereas other more expensive mascaras have, for example the L'oreal Telescopic mascara.
In terms of making the lashes look longer, it really does. Being of an oriental origin, I am not blessed with long lashes so am always on the lookout for lash lengthening mascaras. This mascara separates my lashes and also elongates them and makes much eyes look much bigger than they really are.
With regards to clumpiness, this mascara does not clump very often or at all. The application is easy and the brush aids this ease of application.
Finally, the best thing about this mascara is the price. I remember when I first bought it, it was only around 1.99 and judging by the Amazon adverts down the side, the price has not changed at all. Compared to other mascaras, this price is peanuts, but it is also the best mascara I have ever tried.
Collection 2000 mascara:
I decided to start dressing for the summer which in my opinion means light coloured makeup as well and nice bright clothes. I wear a lot of pale blues this time of year and decided that the best new makeup purchase I could make was new mascara.
Now my eyes are a pale grey/blue and though black mascaras emphasis my eyelashes, giving a long curvy affect they do not make my eyes look any different. So once I spotted this Electric blue mascara in my local Superdrug I decided to give it a go. I had never tried blue mascara before so I had no idea what the affect could be. I was absolutely amazed at how a different coloured mascara could make such a difference to my eyes.
Now the mascara comes in a hard plastic tube about 5 inches long with a grey top and bright blue bottom half. Now the tube states that the mascara itself separates and conditions the lashes. It is also smudge proof and protein enriched. Now I can vouch that it is definitely smudge proof as I accidently rubbed my eyes and had that heart sinking moment, checking the mirror I was pleased to notice that the mascara was still bright, beautiful and in place.
Now when I first applied the mascara I was a little disappointed. Though the blue was there it did not live up to the name of electric blue. But I popped it in my handbag and then went off into town. Now whilst I was sat in the car waiting for my partner to come out the bank I decided to add another layer to my lashes. Well I take everything back. After I put another layer on my eyelashes they went a beautiful bright blue and made my eyes look brilliant. Of course you do not have to apply this mascara as much as I did, but if you want a proper electric blue effect then a few coats will do the trick.
Now don't panic this mascara does not make you look like a drag queen. The light blue makes your eye lashes look longer and your eyes brighter. The price is reasonable and the brush inside is bent at the end so that application is far easier. The mascara does not feel heavy on your lashes like some mascara's can after a few coats and it does not clump in places. The mascara is easily removed with a facial wipe or some makeup removal cream.
A brilliant product and a great change from the usual black that I go for. Easy to apply and the overall look is fantastic. 5 out of 5.
Update 100510 - This mascara leaked everywhere, i did it up tight but still it was awful. I checked with my mum (who also brought one) and hers is fine. It may just be a faulty one but at least i have warned you all.
Like most of the other reviewers on here, I bought this mascara when I was a bit strapped for cash. I generally don't spend much on make up and make it last for as long as possible so when my previous mascara ran out I decided to find a cheap mascara to make do until I could afford to treat myself to something a bit more expensive. I saw this one in Superdrug at £1.99 and without high hopes decided to give it a try. I expected it to be gloopy or too heavy but I was really pleasantly surprised. I don't wear much mascara so flaking isn't really an issue for me but I've tried quite a few mascaras that make my lashes clump together. I was amazed at the results the first time I applied Collection 2000 Longer Lash Mascara. It made my lashes look really long and thick without clumping or being so heavy that they wouldn't curl. It stayed in place for hours and came off really easily. It also looked like quite a natural black rather than the bluey black you often get with cheap mascara. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a new mascara as it does everything a more expensive mascara does at a fraction of the price.
I started using Collection 2000 Longer Lash Mascara a few months ago when I was a bit short on cash and couldn't afford to buy an expensive one for my everyday mascara. I have used Collection 2000 products in the past, and although they are cheap and the packaging is not as flashy as many ranges, I thought I would give it a go as it was only £2.99 where my usual brands are at least £2 or £3 more.
I decided to go for a more subtle look and chose Brownish Black instead of Black.
I tried it out the next morning for work and was really pleased with the results. It made my lashes look longer and darker without making them look clumpy or fake. It gave them a lovely natural look and lasted the whole day without me having to reapply. It was easy to remove with eye make up remover and didn't leave me with any panda eye effects the next morning.
I have just bought another one as I use it everyday and it is recommeded that you change your mascara every 3 to 4 months anyway to reduce the risk of eye infections. By this time it had started to go a little bit on the dry side anyway.
It does say on it that it is a false lash effect mascara which I have to disagree with, as it is quite natural looking compared with many mascaras that I have tried. I like the really false look for nights out but I prefer this more natural look for the day.
I still use a more expensive dramatic black mascara when I go out on a night out, but for everyday use I thoroughly recommend this product. It is easy to apply, doesn't clump or smudge, lasts well and for £2.99 it's a bargain. I will be using this from now on.
while browsing my local Boots i came across
this, collection 2000 mascara, for just £1.99, it claims to make your lashes look longer.
I thought 'o please' for £1.99 thats not going to very good.
i baught it too try it, i mean even if it wasn't very good, i cannot complain for just £1.99.
But hey, i was presently suprised, it does exactly what it claims it does and for such a good price.
I brought the black mascara but you can also get it in brown, i believe they do in electric blue.
The packaging is simple, black with silver writing, and has a easy to use wand. When i use this mascara it not only lengthen and seperates my lashes. I have b rought loads of mascara s in the past, some alot more expensive and has not worked aswell as this one has.
i would recommend this to any one who wants a good mascara at a low price, and believe me this is a good mascara.
overall this is a low cost mascara that lengthens and seperates your lashes.
COULD YOU WISH FOR ANYTHING MORE!!!!!!
when i saw collection 2000 colour lash mascara in brown in Shout magazine, i thought, "hey, why not?!" i only usually buy black or deep deep blue mascara, so i thought it was time for a change. when i saw it was only 1.99 i thought it was a proper bargin so i took some to the check out. when i put some on at home, it took me a while to get the lid off the tube. now it is fine though!:-). it covers really well and if you put 2 or 3 coats on you can achieve a really sultry, sexy look. i will definately buy this mascara again! XXX :-]
A cliche I know, but the Collection 2000 Longer Lash Mascara really IS the best I've ever used. This range of cosmetics is the best value for money range around at the moment...what more do we need? They're cheap but they work, not just adequately either! I recently purchased the Maybelline VOLUM Express after all its hype on TV etc and guess what....it was clumpy and very unattractive looking....so I'm back to Collection 2000,thank-you very much! I would thorougly recommend this mascara,I have sensitive eyes and have even slept in it(yes ,I know!) without any irritation.
