“ Brand: Collection 2000 / Contains: SPF 15 / Type: Foundation „
I like to try out the cheaper cosmetics as if you can find something just as good at a fraction of the cost of more well known brands. This foundation costs just a few pounds and it comes in an easy to apply squeeze bottle. I have the shade ivory 2 which I usually use but this foundation seems a lot lighter than other brands which I was a little disappointed about. I do find the lid to be a little loose and although you are supposed to twist it off I discovered it had opened in my makeup bag while I had it in an overnight bag and it ruined it which as you can expect I was not too happy about.
**In use and results**
It is very easy to get a small amount out of the tube by gently squeezing the bottle and although the consistency is a little runny the small hole it appears from is small enough to stop it from spilling out and making a mess. The foundation is easy to apply and a small of the product really does go a long way. Once applied it has a sheer finish but provides a really natural result so you can barley tell you are wearing any foundation at all. The foundation blends in very easily I do not need to spend a long time working the product in to the skin to achieve an even finish it simply glides over the skin giving good coverage without looking over the top. I found that it does not highlight blemishes and it does cover rather well however I still like to use a concealer for any major blemishes but this is preference and the foundation does work ok by itself.
I did find I could build it up a little if I wanted to with a makeup brush but to be honest if I apply it lightly it evens out my skin tone and just gives a nice glow rather than looking caked in foundation which is refreshing. You do need to be careful as if you put too much on it does look awful but with a little practise you learn to apply the perfect amount to help create an even skin tone. They do not have a huge amount of shades available and I did find them to be a little light compared to the same shades from different brands. The shades available are Ivory, Natural Beige, Vanilla, Biscuit, Honey and golden. They seem to cater for the middle skin tone rather well while lighter and darker skin tones are forgotten. There is a SPF protection of 15 which I thought was good considering it is so cheap.
The consistency is a little runny compared to over foundations I have used so I was a little worried it would not blend but it actually does so really easily which I was pleased about. It is not a drying foundation but it is not a hydrating foundation as it promises on the bottle. I do find that when I wear this foundation I tend to have breakouts and that is the reason I do not use it for day to day use as it seems to disagree with my skin.It does work better with a primer as you would expect and if you finish it off with powder foundation on the top it looks great and stays put even longer. For the price I was actually really surprised at the staying power it lasted really well throughout the day and was still visible when I can to remove my make up in the evening. It comes away really easily with a face wipe and does not fade patchy either.
I liked the coverage this foundation provided and the soft natural look it left behind. It has great staying power and is so cheap to buy but unfortunately my skin does not agree with it and so I rarely use it. I would recommend this foundation if you're shopping on a budget but I do not believe it is suitable for people with sensitive skin like me. I personally would not buy this again but I would say to give it a try if you are interested as it is cheap this means it will not be a huge disappointment if you do not like it at all.
I purchased mine from boots for around £2 which was a bargain but I have also seen this in Tesco and other leading supermarkets. Collection 2000 has a range of makeup products for a value price and a lot of them are rather good for the price.
I have never been one to stick with a certain foundation for too long even though I must admit there are some I have loved and I keep going back to however if I see a one cheap enough I like to try it and see what it's like. While visiting the pound shop a month or so back I noticed they had the collection 2000 naturally radiant foundation so I bought it considering it was a pound I wasn't too bothered if the product wasn't very good. I work in a hairdressers and most of the talk between the workers consists of beauty buy items and when I declared my purchase they didn't look too sure as they claimed collection 2000 was a cheap branded make that was basic and for teenagers. I have personally tried the eyeshadows in the past and I have been pleased with them so I was willing to give it a go.
The foundation comes in a 30ml beige and white tube that contains a beige screw off lid that is easily removed. The tube displays the product name and a little tear drop shape in which you can see the foundation colour through. The packaging does look pretty simple and it wouldn't stand out on a shelf from other brands if I'm honest.
I have white blonde hair now which has paled me so I tend to go for the ivory shade in foundation however the pound shop only had natural beige in at the time so I went for it and hoped it wouldn't be too dark. I was impressed to see that the foundation contained an SPF 15 and although it claims to be moisturising it is also oil free. I have combination skin that gets rather oily in places yet dry in others so this actually sounded perfect. The tube claims that this foundation smoothes the skin, hydrates and evens out skin tone with a light to medium coverage.
I apply the foundation with my fingers as I do with any others as I feel you get a good coating and get around all the areas neatly and evenly. The first thing I noticed was this foundation was a little bit thicker than some I have tried so you don't need to use as much as you would with other brands as it can be very difficult to rub in if too much is used. The coverage of this foundation is excellent, it is super bendable and really hides any dark circles especially on the under eye area in fact it's like a foundation and concealer all in one.
I couldn't have been more pleased with this product and I love how it looks on my skin, I don't have to use a concealer and a good layer of powder over the top as it looks set and very natural. I give a quick dusting of pressed powder to minimise any shine throughout the day but for me this product is a steal at only a quid and I would happily pay more money for it.
I would certainly recommend this product and I am currently in the process of trying to find it in a store as I've tried boots and they don't seem to have this particular one which is a real shame. If anyone reading this review knows where this can be purchased I would really appreciate a comment.
I bought this foundation to try out as I managed to buy it for £1! So I figured if it was rubbish I would have only lost a pound. However, and this is a big however, this foundation was fantastic! I tend not to wear foundation through the day, however on days that I choose to this foundation is perfect. It's not over the top or makes me look orange and it really does make my skin loo naturally radiant. I am really lucky as I do not tend to get spot outbreaks, but if I do have the occasional spot this foundation paired with Collection's concealer stick is a perfect match to cover it up. My previous foundation was a pump action bottle which I enjoyed using, however after the results from this tube package I really wasn't bothered. Also I find that applying this foundation with my fingers has a much greater result that using a sponge or brush, but that may just be the way my skin is. I also applied this foundation straight onto my skin with no primer or moisturiser and it produced amazing results. In addition there was no need to apply a huge amount to the skin as it covers blemishes immediately applied, however if you feel you want to add a little more protection it also produces great results with more foundation applied. It lasts all day if you're using it as an everyday foundation, but also lasts all night if you are using it as a going out foundation. Overall fantastic foundation with no complaints!!
Foundation would be one of my 'desert island items' I think if you have a good base you don't need as much concealer or powder. That's why most of my hard earned dosh ends up going to Superdrugs or Boots in exchange for a new foundation for my skin to eagerly try. I tend to go for brands that I am familiar with so that I do not waste my money but most of the drugstore brands are fairly priced so it's not a big break to the bank.
I wanted to try something simple - no gimmicks or tricks with air brushing or air whipping - just a foundation that would perk my natural skin up, that's where I noticed the Collection 2000 Naturally Radiant Foundation. The packaging drew me to it first as it wasn't in the normal plastic or glass bottle form but more of an off white flat, wide plastic tube with a large lid - something you would find moisturiser of sun block in I imagine. Around the tube is information about the product mainly detailing how by wearing this foundation your skin will appear more naturally radiant and glowing.
I could not wait to try but one thing I was not too happy with at first was that there is not pump, it may just be me but I totally prefer using a pump to aid easy application when getting ready. Its not even the type of bottle where you could attach a pump. However I soon found that the aspect of no pump was actually a good thing, its much more hygienic and clean as there is no build up. You can also control how much product is dispensed because sometimes with pumps you can pump out way too much and be stuck with it!
I like to apply this foundation with a foundation or stippling brush as it is really easy to blend and glides on really smooth and silky. I applied this when wearing a moisturiser and primer as well as on bare skin and it worked well with both; however it was better with the primer - as with most foundations! It gives a low to medium coverage, however it is buildable so if you feel you want some extra protection you can go ahead and apply some more to the areas you feel need it! I love the finish of this foundation, its very dewy and semi matte which I love. you can wear powder over the top but I find it makes it look more heavier whereas if you wear on its own its fine for up to 12 hours - yes it really stay put that long! WOW!
I cannot recommend this foundation enough - it is only about £4 in Boots or Superdrug and I have even seen it online for as little as £1.95! but even though it has a low price it has high quality.
There are 6 shades to choose from, it could do with some more to suit everyone but I think there are the main ones available.
Vanilla - Lightest shade with yellow undertones.
Ivory - Perfect for light complexions but still has some colour to it.
Biscuit - Medium shade with golden undertones.
Natural Beige - Darker medium shade with bronzed undertones.
Honey - One of the darkest shades with golden undertones.
Golden - The darkest shade of the range with bronze pigmentation.
I would recommend this foundation to anyone who wants a good simple foundation that does the job without any tricks or chemicals to clog the pores!
I must be the most organised suitcase packer in the world, or at least on Dooyoo! I always write a list of things for my suitcase and my handbag, check the things in my handbag about 5 times before I leave and when I'm travelling (I'm very paranoid about being stuck somewhere) and carry the lists with me in my bags. And even with my amazing superpowers in packing, I tend to always forget something! Thankfully it's never a major thing, like phone, tickets or ipod, but while visiting my boyfriend, I forgot the most important thing, my make up bag! So I decided to check the shops to find a decent but cheapish foundation, and I stumbled upon Collection 2000's Naturally Radiant Foundation.
I personally have never used any of the Collection 2000's products before, but from the products on the shelf, they had a huge range of products, for the face, eyes, lips and nails. But what I noticed was the range of colours and types of products available, such as the eye shadows being in several colours, and different types of foundations, depending on what the consumer needed. As it was a smallish store I got the foundation from, I decided to check out the Collection 2000's website, as I was becoming interested in what other make they did and the colours, the website is easy to use and was simple but effective. Navigation was easy, and products can easily purchased through the website, but also they have a section on tips about how to wear the make up and gives the viewer tips on the make up, which was very interesting!
The Collection 2000's Naturally Radiant Foundation comes in a tube of 30ml, which is in white and cream coloured, like the picture above. The Foundation comes in 6 shades: Ivory, Natural Beige, Vanilla, Biscuit, Golden and Honey, which is a decent selection of colours, but not good for women with darker skin colours. I personally choose Vanilla, as it was closest to my skin colour, but I was worried as it looked darker in the tube, but I didn't need to worry really! Applying the foundation was easy as the foundation was quite liquid like, compared to other foundations I've tried, which wasn't a disadvantage, in fact it meant the much smoother and easier application of the foundation, using a sponge or fingers.
The foundation looked very natural on my skin, and although I was worried about the foundation being very dark on the sponge, the foundation seems to blend in perfectly with my skin tone, but did cover my bad skin without looking obviously covered up, which was exactly what I wanted! The foundation felt really light and soft on my skin, unlike other foundations I've tried. Which made me think that this was a great summer foundation, with the light feeling but the great coverage and also the SPF 15 added on to the foundation, it was perfect for summer! And if you thought it couldn't get any better, the Naturally Radiant Foundation also provided me with a days worth of coverage, without me needing to re apply throughout the day, which was such an advantage for busy days. What not to love?!
Collection 2000's Naturally Radiant SPF 15 Foundation is available at Boots, Superdrug and most Supermarkets, and costs £3.99, yes just £3.99! What are you waiting for?
