Advantages: Alternative to lipstick, so many ways to wear, the ultimate in Charlie's Angels glam!! Very cheap and tastes lovely, extremely kissable lips especially in the party season!!
Disadvantages: Bit sticky at first, but nothing else, I love it!!
Charlie's Angels, Charlie's Angels, Charlie's Angels, argh, that is all I seem to hear at the minute! My housemate has the T-shirt, everyone is treking off to the cinema to get the latest fix of Cameron Dias flying through the air kicking some guy and now in every magazine that I read, I hear that I should be wearing Charlie's Angels style makeup. It seems like shimmery eyeshadows and lipgloss are the Charlie's Angels essentials, so off I went to find some of this seasons essential products. Lip gloss is something that I have never used before, I am a big fan of dark coloured lipsticks and I guess the two don't exactly mix as there is nothing worse than seeing someone with heavy coats of lipstick, then the gloss over the top and the whole lot gradually going south down their face...picky me? Never. Anyway, not wanting to spend vast amounts of money on a lipgloss just in case after one try I decided it was not me, I browsed through the ever reasonably priced Collection 2000. Never one to dissapoint is seemed like they had gone in for Charlie's Angels in a big way and it was cheap shimmery eyeshadows and lip gloss all the way! I opted to go with their £1.89 clear gloss, although there were some shimmery pink ones too which looked quite nice. I decided not to run before I could walk so to speak, colour would only complicate matters I am sure. Last weekend I decided to give it a go. I appied all my makeup as usual including using my lip liner to define the out line of my lips. I then carefully used the lipgloss and blended it in with the liner which gave it a hint of colour. I was so impressed. It bought out the colour in my lips and gave a very fresh look to my face.Although it felt a bit sticky at first this soon went and it just felt like regular lipstick. The complete bonus with the Collection 2000 lipgloss was that it tasted gorgeous, ot Strawberries, thus I went out with ultimately kissable lips!!
(My boyfriend who wasn't there would have loved that one). The shine from the gloss seemed to bring out the colour and sparkle in my shimmery purple eyeshadow as well. I was just so amazed at how without the colour or lipstick which I usually feel secure with, I still felt glam and attractive. The gloss was pretty resistant to all the usual night time adventures, drinking, dancing, sweating (lots of people of course!!) and just talking for England. I took it with me and re-applied just as I would with a normal lipstick. However, the one bonus I discovered was that unlike lipstick the drunker you get you can still put it on as you don't have to risk walking around with colour all over your face! Now I have a little more confidence with lipgloss I have been experimenting. Sometimes I put a little bit of lipstick underneath to get the colour that I want, my advice here is to only put the slightest bit on as too much starts to look a bit messy. I have also used some of my sparkly cream eyeshadows, like gold or pink and have rubbed a little across my lips and then covered in gloss. There are so many things to do, especially with the clear glosses and it has been a fun learning experience as well. Ok, the Collection 2000 packaging will not win awards, but it was highly functional, very tasty indeed and it kept me going through the night. So, I shall be continuing with my new found Charlie's Angel look through the Christmas period anyway!
