Advantages: Smells Nice, different colours to choose from,, High Shine, reasonabley priced,, Stays on longer than other lipglosses, makes lips smooth as it contains softening ingredients, protects lips from the sun.
Disadvantages: You get left with a little bit of lipgloss at the end of the tube that you can't reach.
It was sitting on the shelf, cheap, pink and glittery. How could I possibly resist? ;o) Yup, I've gone and bought yet another lipgloss. I don't need it, of course (I've got a whole box full of them at home) but see, I was in Superdrugs and I had a spare few pounds so I thought I'd, erm, buy another, As you do ;o) I wasn't exactly wasting my money, though, I mean a lipgloss always comes in handy.... Doesn't it?? So anyway, there I was at the Collection 2000 section trying to decide which lipgloss I should buy. I'd already decided to buy one from the 'Plastique' range as I'd used one from there before and I was very impressed with it. So should I choose the clear one, same as before? Or should I go for a coloured one? Or what about the glittery ones...? I decided on a see-through pink looking lipgloss with sparkly glitter pieces in. I love pink glittery things :o) The lipglosses name is 'Candy Shimmer' and it's shade number 41. I've often bought make up from the Collection 2000 range before, and more often than not been impressed with my purchases, not only because they're good quality, but because there's lots of selectionin shades, the products are reasonably priced and widely available (Collection 2000 products can be bought from Superdrug stores and chemists, so you don't have to go searching for ages to find them!) ~* Packaging *~ I like Collection 2000's packaging. It's simple and easy to recognise. The packaging for this gloss is no exception. You'll recognise it by its silver tube, 8ml in size, which is quite average for a lipgloss. Certainly a good size to fit in to a bag so you can take it with you and re-apply during the day. It's got a silver lid with a sticker stating the ingredients, but the main part of the tube is see-through so you can easily see which shade you've got, making selecting your
lipgloss even easier! There's not much product information on the tube, but then it's a lipgloss, how many instructions do you need?! I like the packaging. It's simple without looking overly cheap, it's modern and above all it's silver! ~* The Lipgloss Itself *~ The most important part... The lipgloss itself! Like I mentioned earlier, one of the main things which attracted me to this lipgloss in the first place was the colour. It's a see-through baby pink colour with bits of multicoloured glitter in. It's gorgeous and goes especially well with the silver packaging! The smell of the lipgloss is lovely, though I can't really describe it. It's not too overpowering, just a lovely soft smell of fruity sweets! Each of the lipglosses smell the same regardless of colour, even though this one is appropriatley named, 'cos the smell is quite candy-ish! Upon applying the lipgloss you notice that it's of a perfect consistancy, not too runny so that it ends up on your chin, and not too thick that it sticks your lips together like glue! I didn't find the lipgloss sticky at all, neither was it too gloopy. The applicator you apply the lipgloss withcomes out of the tube with exactly the right amount of lipgloss on, so all you have to do is dab it on your lips! The lipgloss contains moisturising ingredients like Vitamin E and Jojoba oil, so it's no wonder that my lips felt soft and smooth after applying, even after the gloss had worn off! Now on to the best bit! The shine the gloss gave my lips was amazing! I know the tube said the lipgloss is high shine, but I hadn't expected that much shine! The gloss was clear when applied to my lips and my lips shimmered when they caught the light (no doubt this was helped by the glitter pieces, which were especially sparkly in the right light!) After applying, my lips really stood out. They were not only shiny and sparkly
but they felt and smelt great too! Now then, the lipgloss is called 'Plastique', so did it make my lips look plastic? No, it didn't it just made them look incredibly shiny, which in my opinion is a good thing! After being so impressed with the lipgloss so far, I almost espected something about it to disappoint me (there's a word for people like me, isn't there? ;o) ) Perhaps the shine would wear off too quickly like other lipglosses I have used in the past? Nope, this lipgloss comes off well in the lastability test too... The main shine of the lipgloss lasted about 45 minutes after I had applied it, the lipgloss not wearing off completely until about an hour and a half after I had initially applied it. I was very impressed with the length of time it lasted, considering lipgloss usually wears off quite quickly. You'll have to bear in mind, however, that if you are eating or drinking a lot while wearing it, it will of course wear off more quickly. On top of all this, the lipgloss contains UVA and UVB sunscreens, preventing your lips from getting sunburnt... Another bonus! :o) ~* Other Information ~* * This lipgloss is availabe in a range of colours... there's a clear one, coloured ones, glittery ones.... The coloured ones are best worn on their own as they give not only gloss but a hint of colour too, but the clear and glittery ones can be used over lipstick to give a glossier finish or to seal the colour and help it last longer. * The lipgloss can be bought from Superdrug stores and various chemists, where it costs £2.19. ~* Overall *~ I was really impressed with this lipgloss (I do hope you've realised that by now!) There's so many advantages to it, from the packaging, to the lovely smell, to the way it leaves your lips soft, and of course the glossyness it gives your lips! Other advantages to it are that it's available in a pretty good r
ange of sh ades so you can pick up whichever one suits your mood or your make up and you don't have to worry about carrying an apllicator around with you because it comes with one already attached to the lid! £2.19 isn't really a bad price to pay at all, considering. The only slight disadvantage I have found with this lipgloss is that when you get to the bottom of the tube and you're left with a little lipgloss in the end of the tube, the applicator is just slightly to short to reach the last bits. Nevermind, though, at that price I don't mind wasting a teeny bit! Oh, and I wouldn't advise kissing anyone immediately after applying, as you'll probably get stuck together (not that that's always a bad thing...) or a bit messy at the very least. The advantages definitely outweigh the disadvantages! Overall I would highly recommend this lipgloss for you if you're looking for a lipgloss which will make your lips stand out and give them an eye-catching shine, that can be worn on its own or over a lipstick. The shimmery glitter look is perfect for a party as it really does make your lips the focus of your face. But... if you're looking for a subtle shine for your lips, then I wouldn't recommend this to you!
