      Okay but nothing special

      ~~~~~~~~ Quidalicious ~~~~~~~~ This was an impulse purchase bought for one reason and one reason only - the appealingly low £1 price tag! Always keen to try out new items, this was dropped into my basket as I did a little shopping with an online cosmetics retailer. I am not sure if this is available in any stores or not but you can definitely still buy it - low price tag intact - online. ~~~~~~~~~ So what is it? ~~~~~~~~~ The product is a double-ended eye product, designed to add shimmer to the eyes. It is a skinny looking "pen" with a lid on each end. The packaging is okay but a bit cheap looking (hard to complain at this price though!). Although mainly silver, green bands reflect the colours of the two products. ~~~~~~~~~~ Keep a lid on it ~~~~~~~~~~ You open each lid with a slight twist, and it pops off with a gentle spring action Inside the lid is a stubby but slightly pointed applicator - a bit like a felt tip - with some of the green powder on the end. The powder actually lives in the top of the lid, packed in tight so it doesn't drop out. Even if you tap the lid it stays intact so although it sounds like powder should spill out everywhere, it doesn't ... which is pretty vital to make this product work! The two shades of green are quite different - a pale, shimmery, almost golden green at one end and a darker, almost olive green at the other. ~~~~~~~~ A weak liner ~~~~~~~~ You can use this as an eyeliner, which is what I first tried it for. It goes on pretty easily and is similar to using eye shadow as a liner, which I do very often. It doesn't feel at all gritty which is good. The lighter shade doesn't really do much for me - it's a bit too pale and 'nothingy' on my lash line and makes me look a bit peaky! The darker shadow is better but it is still a bit too weak - it doesn't give a very dramatic or interesting look. However, over black liner, both shades do add a bit of drama and shimmer. However the paler green is by far the brighter and more shimmery of the two shades, and has a bit of a metallic finish. Overall as a liner I am pretty underwhelmed by this - both shades are a bit too weak and it's sort of pointless to use this as an eyeliner - other shadows I have are much more pigmented and effective. I have also tried to use this as an eyeshadow but you don't really get enough product on the 'pen' for this to work either and, again, I am distinctly underwhelmed overall. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cheap but not so cheerful ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I'm going to give this three stars because it's very cheap (worse to find a useless expensive product!) and it's quite a nice idea and design - I think if it was more pigmented it may be a better idea but really it isn't one I'll be using much - if at all!
