Advantages: Great kit, works well, is economical and feels great on the skin
Disadvantages: Easily marked packaging
When I saw this I just had to buy it! The packaging looked so nice and I can't think what brand does something similar to this (it may be Channel) but at £4.49 against the price tag of a top brand of over 30 quid this won out and I bagged one lol.
What this basically is, is a 3 coloured powdered for highlighting and illuminating the face. 3 shades are available and this one (Just Peachy) is actually brought to us by Peaches Geldof on behalf of Collection 2000! Yep the celeb factor sold it to me and if it's good enough for her it's good enough for me lol!
The Packaging....
See through, almost flat square plastic compact. On the front I'm told it is Collection 2000 Shimmer & Shade and on the bottom there is a black label with silver writing on it telling me it is Shimmer & Shade (Number 3 Just Peachy), I'm told a little bit about the product, ingredients are listed, the recycle symbol is displayed, size is stated (10g), contact details for Collection 2000 are given and finally there is a bar-code on there. Nice enough plain case however I don't like the fact that in just a couple of weeks the silver writing on the front has scratched off making it look a bit tacky and that's just from being in a make up bag.
A Bit About The Product According To The Bottom Of Compact....
Softly, shimmering powder creates a sheer, subtle, lasting radiance. Sweep over face and neck for an all over glow, or use to highlight cheekbones. Contains Vitamin E & Silk.
Using It....
Firstly I must point out that although my product looks the same as the one on the review photograph on the top of this page my colours are different. When I flip open my compact I'm met with what appears like a picture in a frame (lol only way I can describe it). The background area is an off white powder then I have a large very light peach flower (powder) and then a small flower of a dark peach colour. So 3 colours in one as I mentioned earlier are all in a square.
How you use this is up to you, and easy and fuss free to use this really is.
All of the colours in 'Just Peachy' are highly shimmery and in my opinion best used on tanned or darker skins. For me I'm a really pale white and this actually does not alot for my appearance (if used on cheeks!).
However I have used it as a blusher (you can use one colour at a time), I have used it all over my face to give a hint of colour and soft subtle shine but have used it in the main to highlight my cheekbones and to help narrow down the size of my nose (a little white powder down the centre!).
You can use all the colours with a big brush and blend if you want to and use as a conventional blusher but I really do think this is a really excellent highlighting kit. I simply brush some white powder (and really blend it in) just under my cheekbones and then brush a little of one of the colours over the 'apples' of my cheeks to finish off. The look is very effective indeed. It lasts ages (till your remove it) and really nice on the face and/or neck to the touch due to it's silk content.
Verdict....
I personally wouldn't buy this colour again for myself however my mate pinches this kit and it looks fabulous on her. The only reason I haven't let her keep it is because I use the kit to highlight my eyes rather than my cheeks and like to use all three colours there! So if you pick the right shade of compact for you, you could really end up with a great multi-tasking product and I wouldn't hesitate in buying a different colour from this range in the future and it lasts absolutely ages. I'm really impressed with the ease of use of it, the fact it doesn't flake everywhere when in use and it really does feel nice and not one bit heavy when on and gives no transfer problems. A great little buy and I'm sure if you get the right colour you won't be able to put it down! Great stuff!
Available in most chemists.
Summary: A great little summer buy!
