“ Brand: Collection 2000 / Type: Bronzing Powder „
I don't wear heavy make up because I like to take care of my skin and think heavy make up isn't a good look for some people, especially at my age. I am in my 50's and have to now take even more care of my skin than when I was far younger. I was looking to buying a cheaper bronzer to try and I spotted this on the shelf. I spoke to the shop assistant who was stocking the shelf at the time and she told me this one was quite a popular one with the ladies, so I bought it to give it a go.
It comes in a plastic circular compact and has a plastic lid. The lid is really easy to take off the base and place back again. It just pulls off, also sits back into place nicely and doesn't fall off etc.
The powder has a mosaic design and looks really nice inside the base, the shades are different colours and not just one main colour like most bronzers. I like the design of this one and it is a change and attractive looking. The shades are brown, beige, fawn and a pink kind of colour. All the colours look nice shades in my opinion. This bronzer would be suitable for different skin tones. I have very pale skin and I find some bronzers can be far too dark on my skin and they give the appearance of a fake tan. This one having the pink and paler tones work well for my skin colour.
It is easy to use by just sweeping a brush over the powder and gently mixing the colours onto the brush, then just applying it to the face and neck. I always add a little at a time and build it up gradually, I find I can then I can judge how much more I need to add as I go along. It is easier to add a little more, than take some away from the face and having to then reapply.
You don't need too much of the powder to give a nice colour on the skin, this one gives a nice even tone and not too dark a colour, it doesn't look like a fake tan if applied correctly and adding more if necessary. We all know how much we like to usually use and sometimes we like to apply more if we go out for the evening and less for a day time look.
This powder is fine grain and doesn't make a real mess like you may imagine it would. It also gives a natural look to the skin and the skin feels really soft after applying it. Feels smooth and not cakey looking. Is easy to blend and also gives a slight shimmery look to the face and a really nice natural glow. The shimmer isn't too heavy and is suitable for age group. Is just a really nice subtle glow. If you like a natural shimmer glow, I think this one would be more than suitable, if you like one which has lots of shimmer and one which glistens a little more in the light or while in a night club etc, this one may not be so suitable.
It gives my skin a natural tan look and not a look that it looks like I have been on a sunbed or used fake tan. Is fabulous to wear during the winter months when my skin tone is much paler. It is one which just gives a little extra colour to my skin and helps me feel much better. If you are someone who likes a more deeper tan look, you can just add more of the bronzer and it will add a darker colour tone to your skin. I find I don't have to keep on topping it up during the day because it remains on the skin for a very long time.
The quality of the powder is really good and it is so cheap and affordable for all budgets in my opinion. it only costs £2.99 and I bought it from Boots. I think it is amazingly good value for this price. The price won't break the bank if you are wanting to buy a bronzer for the very first time to experiment with and see if you like a bronzed look on your skin. Using a bronzer for the first time can be quite daunting and scary if you don't wear make up very often but I find buying a cheaper product is an ideal way of trying it to see if you like it or not and if it gives you the look which you are happy and confident enough to wear.
Is also very easy to remove from the skin by using a good facial cleaner which can remove all traces of the powder from the skin. A good cleanser removes all of the powder and dissolves it perfectly.
Is ideal for young people to buy and to experiment with to get used to a bronzer, a good product to add to the make up bag for a beginner in my opinion and suitable for all age groups and give the skin a nice even tone of colour.
If you do buy it and not sure if you like the look once on the skin, stick with it and try it lots of times and you then may warm to it eventually when used it continuously. Don't give up after a couple of uses, just give it time and it may then be a powder you like in the end. I didn't like bronzers when I first tried them many years ago but when I continued to use them and got used to how to blend them onto the skin, it became second nature in the end and I am pleased I did stick with using one. This one is more than suitable to try and get used to wearing a bronzer look on the skin.
I have found the powder hasn't crumbled inside the compact all the time I have been using it and that is a good 4 months or so on a regular basis, although not every single day.
I do highly recommend this one for anyone wanting to buy a cheaper one and one which suits amount of money you want to spend on a bronzer. I am very happy with the results and look this one gives on my skin. I will most certainly buy it again in the future and I love this bronzer from the Collection range.
Also on Ciao under my username pinky50.
I give this one 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
I am one of those who generally wears make up on a daily basis whether a face full or even just mascara. I am also one of those who doesn't like the pasty, white look and although being able to catch the rays and get a nice glow does the job for a certain while but after that a little help is needed generally in the form of a bronzer. Now, don't get me wrong I don't go for the orange look just a nice gentle glow is much more preferred.
I am not loyal when it comes to make up brands I am quite happy to try the cheapest of the cheap to the more expensive. As long as they do what they say then I am happy. At the beginning of the year I purchased the Collection 2000 Mosaic Shimmering Glow Powder as I liked the mosaic effect and of course being from Collection 2000 it wasn't going to break the bank either!
== The Powder ==
The Collection 2000 Mosaic Shimmering Glow Powder is a multi-tonal bronzing powder which according to Collection 2000 it is ideal for giving that year round glow. It comes in two shades, 'Bronze Glow' which is more suitable for medium skin tones and 'Gold Glow' for those fairer amongst us.
== Packaging ==
The powder comes in a circular case which has a gold/bronze coloured metallic base with a clear top which features a gold swirled pattern but you can clearly see the mosaic pattern of the powder. On the base there is some product information including the ingredients, shade and contact information for Collection 2000. It doesn't come with a brush so will need one of your own.
== In Use ==
The powder itself is as stated a mosaic pattern and once the clear top is off you can see the variety of metallic shades all in gold and bronze shades. I opted for the shade 'Gold Glow' as although I don't have the palest of complexions I was only wanting it to give a subtle glow rather than a full on tangoed look. The only difference I saw between the two shades available is simply the darkness of the bronzing powder.
To apply you just need a decent blusher/ powder brush which needs to be gently dabbed onto the powder itself and then swept across your face. I find that when applying this powder is to keep it incredibly light rather than plying your brush with powder as it won't give a more natural, even coverage and that is the key to keep it light as you can always build up the colour.
I found that the powder is incredibly light and after a while you do get a lot of excess when applying it but it does manage to stick to the brush well for easy application. Generally, I only needed to sweet the brush over my face once or twice to give a lovely glow to my skin and the colour would generally last for quite a few hours before needing to re-apply.
The one downside I found wasn't with the powder itself it was with the packaging. After a while the clear plastic lid becomes quite loose and I have found it has come of in my make up bag emptying any of the loose powder over the contents so using it when out and about isn't always the easiest but then I may have just had a bad case.
== Overall ==
I am incredibly impressed with this powder. It gives me the soft glow I want without it looking fake or orange. It lasts for a good few hours and is very easily removed so no problems there. Considering I paid less than £3.00 I found the quality great and it does the job it offers.

Brand: Collection 2000
Price: From around £2.50 +
Availability: Boots, Superdrug etc
For some reason collection 2000 isn't very highly recommended among people over the age of 25.It is thought of as a cheap branded make that is mostly advertised to teenagers. When it comes to descent make-up this is never a one that gets any credit and therefore puts people off buying it and trying it for themselves. I have tried the foundation which I managed to pick up from the pound shop and the eye shadow trio which I managed to pick up for 50p from sale stock at my local chemist and I can honestly say I have been really impressed with them.
I love a bit of shimmer to the face, neck and shoulders when I go out however I don't like achieving this look with a bronzer as the warm glows just don't suit me. I came across the st moriz shimmering bronzer in light at my body care store and I loved it so when I was due a night out again I needed a new product and couldn't get one from the shopping centre. I was on the lookout for a cheap shimmer just for that night as I knew I could get my hands on my regular moritz for next time and I came across the collection 2000 shimmering mosaic glow.
The product comes in a bronzer shaped disc which has a see through lid in which you can see the shape of the mosaic in all different colours of bronze. It advises that by applying this product it will give you a sun kissed look as if you have just stepped off the beach. I don't like too much bronze so I was hoping it wouldn't change my colour too much.
You can apply this bronzer with a proper bronzing brush as these are slightly bigger and rounder than a face powder one. You swirl the brush in the powder and apply all over the face and neck. The colour is actually really nice and not too overpowering, in fact the colour is rather subtle but it can be intensified with more coats. This isn't really a bronzer in my eyes as it is more of a shimmer which is exactly what I look for with the glittery particles.
This product goes the distance and stays all night and still looks really good even if you don't re-apply half way through the night. It does however transfer onto clothes so you have to be careful when wearing light items.
I really like this product and I was surprised it was so good especially for £2.99. I can openly admit that from now on I won't underestimate collection 2000
This bronzer is fantastic. I use it both for day looks and at night where I apply a little more.
The product is of great value and it lasts ages, I have had mine a while and i still have loads left.
I find it easy to apply but I would recommend blending the product and only using on cheeks, chin and noise due to the glittery bronze look which would be too much for full face.
The only downside of the product is if you don't blend it properly or forget to blend after applying it looks quite harsh, therefore I always ensure that I blend it in and double check in an alternative mirror. This avoids harsh lines.
It creates a great summer look; it is easy to apply and lasts throughout the day. I love the look it creates; it looks fantastic when you have a tan!
Collection 2000 are a brand of cosmetics which won't cost the earth. Widely available in the usual places such as Boots and Superdrug, you can also find large displays of these cosmetics in your local supermarket. Whilst definitely not high end products, there are some little gems to be found in this range and although I have also found one or two of their products to be not so good, they remain a brand I am always willing to try due to those gems I have found in their collection. Plus the low prices mean that if you do purchase something from the range and find it's not for you, than you haven't wasted a lot of money.
Collection 2000 first came to my attention a number of years ago when make-up artist Liz Collinge sang their praises on a daytime TV show. She recommended giving them a try and spoke about several of their products which she used regularly, enthusing about the low price and how you don't have to spend a fortune to achieve a great look.
It was this endorsement which prompted me to make my first purchase from Collection 2000 and I purchased their Fast Stroke Liquid Eyeliner which I was really impressed with and still use to this day. Even though I had tried other liquid eyeliners, nothing else came close. Since them I have purchased several cosmetics from Collection 2000 and only found one or two to be not really what I wanted, with eyeliners and bronzing or translucent powders being my favourites.
On deciding to buy a new bronzing powder recently, I turned once again to Collection 2000. I didn't have a lot of money to spare and as I had always been happy with their bronzers in the past, I knew I would be able to buy a decent product at a price which wouldn't break the bank.
I was browsing the Collection 2000 range at my local Morrisons supermarket when I noticed this Mosaic Shimmering Glow Powder and I was drawn to this attractive-looking bronzer immediately thanks to its eye-catching Mosaic patterned powder.
Indeed this Mosaic Shimmering Glow Powder is very striking to look at. It comes in a round compact with a clear lid so you can see its Mosaic patterned contents.
The powder somes in two shades: bronze and gold, although the mosaic is made up of different shades of powder, the gold compact is lighter than the bronze. Although I have dark hair and brown eyes, I still thought the bronze shade would maybe be too dark overall for my liking and so I chose the gold shade as it did contain various shades of bronze to gold powder.
This bronzed mosaic powder is said to create a natural sunkissed glow and also contains Vitamin E.
As well as using this on your face, you can also use this powder on your body to create a bronzed shimmering glow effect on your skin. I was purchasing this mainly to use on my face, but I do use a bronzer now and then during summer months on my body, so it was good to know this can be used all over.
I have been using this powder for around three months now and really love it. I sweep over the powder, which is set and compact and so not messy or crumbly at all, with a brush and sweep it over my face and instantly I can see my face has a subtle shimmer. You don't need to use a lot of this powder, I personally find one sweep of the brush over my face is enough for me.
I have brushed this very lightly over foundation with great results when going out, as well as simply applying on top of my moisturiser during the day. My face has a golden shimmery glow which doesn't look orange or too heavy at all. The effects are subtle and not over the top which is exactly what I want.
When sweeping the brush over my neck and shoulders the powder feels so light and sliky smooth and I am left with shimmering skin which stands out in the light. I can't wait to use this powder whilst on my summer holiday abroad, as I think the effect will be lovely, especially on a evening.
I tend to wear some brighter clothes when on holiday abroad in the sunshine but bold colours can wash out lighter skin tones, so I will use the bronzer to add colour to my skin and balance it out whilst on holiday.
This Mosaic Shimmering Glow Powder is lasting me well and I have experienced no breakages or crumbling of the powder. It has remained compact and I love the silky feel of the powder as I brush it over my skin.
Once empty, the powder container can be removed from the compact case by pushing a pin into the smaller hole on the bottom of the case. This enables you to refill the compact with a new mosaic bronzing powder, however I will point out that I have not personally seen any refills on sale in the shops I have visited. Having said that, as I only paid £2.99 anyway I am not going to worry about the availability of refills.
I can highly recommend this Mosaic Shimmering Glow Powder, it is another 'gem' I have found from Collection 2000 and one I will continue to purchase. At just £2.99 it is a price which suits all pockets.
Today I am reviewing the Collection 2000 Shimmering Mosaic Glow bronzing powder.
I bought this last summer when I was in need of a new bronzer and collection 2000 had a Buy one get one free offer so as I was buying a Collection 2000 concealer I thought I might as well try a bronzer from them. Collection 2000 is a brand that generally does do quite good products for a very cheap price.
This bronzer only set me back £2.99 so it's not breaking the bank. It comes in a plastic compact with a bronze, shimmery base and a clear lid. On top of the lid it says 'Collection 2000, Mosaic Glow' and then around that there is a gold swirly pattern that, to me looks kind of like the sun which I think is really cool. The lid is really easy to remove and just pulls off really easily. I really like the picture on top but the rest of the packaging is pretty boring.
But the product itself is far from boring. Basically it is three different shades in pentagons in a pattern which you swirl together to make a blended shade. This is a very different bronzer to my other bronzers because most of my other ones are just pure shades. The idea is that it gives you an even finish and a bronzed glow that doesn't look orangey and fake.
And I have to say that I LOVE this !! Although there is a tonne of shimmer in there and if just shoved on your face, then you can look like a glitter ball but if used sheerly and correctly then it can make your face look just beautiful ! It just gives you such a nice natural finish that I love so much !! At first I was worried that it would make me look orangey because I didn't know what it would turn out like swirled together but it isn't ! It turns into a really nice natural brown shimmer and I just love it !! I would really recommend this product and can't really think of anything bad to say !
I am not particularly loyal to any one brand of cosmetics, but I do find that the "Collection 2000" brand is one that I quite like. I find that most of the products offer a great value price and are of a good quality, whilst the brand seems to cater for a variety of tastes and it doesn't come across as being 'immature' or something that's aimed at younger consumers.
One item from the range that I have found to be suitable for my own needs is the "Collection 2000 Shimmering Mosaic Glow" which is essentially a plastic compact containing a bronzing powder product. I paid only £2.99 for the compact from a local branch of Boots, which is a great value price in my opinion. I have just recently purchased my third Mosaic Glow, and I believe it to be a product that will be a repeat purchase of mine.
The packaging for the Shimmering Mosaic Glow is fairly simple and basic looking I must admit. Comprising of a plastic bronze-coloured base which houses the compressed powdery mosaic, the top has a clear plastic lid which sits on top. The lid is easy to remove and replace and it just sort of 'sits' on top of the base, without it needing to be turned to secure it. The packaging has a very flimsy feel and it is rather uninspiring I suppose, but the product itself is a different matter altogether.
This bronzing powder product from the Collection 2000 range is a bit different to other bronzing products that I have bought in the past, mainly because the powder is made up of a variety of colours and shades rather than being a solid block of the same colour. This is where the 'Mosaic' part of the product comes in, as the assorted shades and powders are formed in the way of a mosaic pattern in the base of the plastic compact. This is quite difficult to describe, but the picture at the top of the Dooyoo page should help here. The mosaic design comprises of shades ranging from a sort of dark brown bronzer powder right up to a sort of pinky-shaded powder, and I would say there are four assorted shades in the compact's design.
I believe that the idea behind the mosaic design is to allow for a sort of 'even finish' after the bronzing powder has been applied. To explain this further, I find that some bronzer powders that I have used before have had a sort of 'block colour effect' to them when they have been brushed on my cheeks. This is grand and well for people with a medium or dark complexion, but in my own case my near-porcelain complexion is far too pale to cope with such a dramatic sweep of colour. For this reason, I often find that bronzing powder applied to my pale skin tone looks uneven and very "fake-tan" which really doesn't suit my pale skin.
The Collection 2000 Mosaic Glow in comparison, allows for a more subtly-coloured bronzer residue to be gathered on my application brush, which I feel is mainly due to the addition of the pink-coloured 'blocks' of bronzer that help to make up the mosaic pattern in the compact. I feel that the rich and brightly-coloured hue of the pink coloured sections of the mosaic add a sort of overall balance to the darker, more earthy tones of the brown and bronze coloured 'blocks', which allows the colours to merge and give a much more subtle effect than using a bronzer that is one colour. The end result is one that I find is much more suited to my own paler-than-average skin tone, and I feel the product offers a slight 'hint' of colour to my skin, providing an overall blush of golden colour to my pale face instead of a more 'striking' colour which really stands out and is far too noticeable in my opinion.
The product is one that I find very easy to use. All I need to do is sweep a brush over the WHOLE SURFACE of the mosaic-like pattern lightly. I say over the whole surface of the mosaic as I find this allows the assorted colours and shades to really blend and mix properly, rather than being too concentrated on any one tone. I find that just a light sweep of the mosaic provides ample powder for me to cover my face and neck properly, although if you are looking for a more intense effect, you may wish to apply more product, either by sweeping a second - or even a third - time, or by gathering more powder on your brush prior to application. The product is one that I feel is very versatile and is suited to a variety of skin tones and colours, thanks to it's ability to 'build' colour in this way. Also, as I only need to use a minimal amount of powder, I find that the product really lasts for a long time. The last Mosaic Glow I owned had lasted me for a good five months or so, and had around a third of the product left in its plastic case before it met it's untimely demise by way of getting smashed on a floor when dropped by accident. Oops. The longevity of the product really makes it seem like such a worthwhile purchase, especially when the extremely 'budget' price is considered.
I would stress too that I have found some of the other bronzer powder products that I have bought before give a sort of 'high glitter' type look when they have been applied, which is often quite subtle until standing in direct light. I happen to find bronzing products with this sort of 'glittery sheen' effect to them are not at all suitable for myself as they just don't suit my pale complexion and well, I feel I am too mature to carry them off properly. The Collection 2000 Mosaic in comparison, does have a sheen to it, but I find it is much more subtle than other products, and the sheen and glow of the product looks to me like it is far more natural in its appearance.
The last point I want to mention about the product is that it is one that I am never without when I go on holiday as it provides such a warming glow to my porcelain skin. I find that it gives a really lovely summery look to my skin, and I think the product has again proven its versatility by its ability to be used on other areas of the body and not just the face. I have applied the powder to my whole neckline, as well as my shoulders and tops of my arms and feel that it gives a lovely summery glow to these areas too, which is particularly attractive when wearing a strappy top or sundress when on holiday. My skin tone is such that it really seems to benefit from even a light sweep of my bronzing mosaic and it just brings a warming 'glow' to the paleness of my skin. Be warned though - if you wish to use the bronzing mosaic in this way, you should exercise caution when wearing white or pale colours as the powder may cause a little staining or build-up where the clothes touch the powder. Also, I find that using a larger-sized bronzing brush is much more beneficial when applying the powder to the larger-sized areas of the body than using a blusher brush or something smaller... and it is much quicker to apply this way too!
Overall, I am thoroughly convinced of the performance of my Collection 2000 Shimmering Mosaic Glow and it is a product that I feel is now a regular staple of my make-up bag. I cannot recommend it highly enough and think it is such a versatile product that it would suit a whole range of skin tones, as well as suit consumers of most ages.
