Cheap, pretty and it works - kind of (Collection 2000 Shine Away Compact Powder)

Advantages: Cheap, nice packaging, gives a more even finish

Disadvantages: Not quite as mattifying as it claims to be

If I'm being honest I have to say that the only reason I bought this product was that it looked pretty in its little flowery case. I don't wear make up often and I was experimenting. I have seen it in two colours; light and medium. There may be more, but I'm not sure. Stupidly, I bought the medium version which turned my pale skin orange. Eventually I went back to Superdrug and bought the lighter shade which suited me much better.

As I said before, it comes in a pretty little compact case - black with pink flowers. It has a mirror inside and comes with a powder puff, although I prefer to apply it with a brush. I don't remember how much I paid for it, but it is now £3.91 in Boots, which I think is good value.

I apply this over the top of my Collection 2000 foundation and it gives a much better finish. It makes my skin look more even and more natural. As a "shine away compact powder" its job is to mattify the skin. My skin still felt oily after using it, but it didn't look that oily, which was good enough for me. I will definitely continue to use this powder and will probably buy it again.

Summary: Definitely worth trying
