The clear version of this is a great, inexpensive product! It's so cheap....and it does the job of keeping my eyebrows in place and looking neat.
I use it over Collection 2000 eyebrow pencil in Blonde, which is actually a really good match for my medium/darkish brown eyebrows. The overall effect is pretty natural; I'm not a fan of hyper-stylised eyebrow shapes!
It also looks decent if you're aiming for a 'no-makeup' look if you curl your lashes beforehand. Then again, I do have dark eyelashes so it'd probably be less visible on lighter shades.
Packaging is just like your usual mascara, it does go a little cloudy inside the tube after a while but I find this doesn't affect the consistency of the product when applied to my brows, plus I rinse the brush in warm water every so often so it's not a problem.
Worth buying for the price, it only costs about £2 from Boots/Superdrug in the UK- why spend loads for Benefit Speed Brow or the like when you can get this instead? You would have to be really willing to throw away your money on more expensive products as this does a brilliant job for eyebrows and eyelashes if you'd prefer.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone out there on a budget or just wanting to pick up a good bargain and value for money. I have loved using this product and will continue to do so. Pick it up at your local store to try as it's so cheap!!
I have tried lots of different mascaras over the years due to receiving them for my birthday or buying what has been on offer at the time. However for the last couple of years, I have gone back time and time again to Collection 2000.
The mascara I have been buying most recently is the Super Fat Lash Mascara in Ultra Black. I bought it from Boots for £2.99 however I know in some of the Asda stores they also sell Collection 2000 products as well as in superdrug and other health and beauty retailers. I also received 8 points on my boots card with this product.
The brush is quite a simple brush, with no curves or fancy shapes to it which is what I like. The bristles are thick and made of standard mascara brush material. The brush holds the mascara product well, but does not over fill the brush leaving you with mascara caked all over your lashes.
The mascara comes in 2 colours. Both of which are black. However one is 'normal' black and the other is ultra black. I normally do not go for really dark mascaras as I have fair skin, but even I can get away with the ultra black shade without looking like a ghost.
This mascara by Collection 2000 is a volumising mascara designed to give your lashes that extra oomph which it certainly does. I have quite long eye lashes anyway, but I have been complimented on how lovely my eye lashes look when I have been wearing this product. In order to give your eye lashes extra oomph, wiggle the brush from side to side as you are applying the product through your eye lashes.
The mascara does not claim to be waterproof, however I have been soaked in the rain many times whilst wearing this product and have never ended up with panda eyes. I have also cried many times whilst wearing this mascara, and have again never had a problem with it running.
I simply love this mascara and will keep on buying it forever (well, until they stop selling it).
I have used this mascara alot in the last few months. I noticed my friends eyelashes were looking really defined and passed a comment. She told me that she used this product, so I decided to invest in a collection 2000 waterproof mascara myself.
The packaging is nothing out of the ordinary. However I am quite charmed by the simplicity of the design of this mascara. I have used mascaras of late that have thick containers or angled wands, and I liked the thought of going back to basics with this mascara.
The mascara was around £3 which, when compaired to other mascaras on the market is very cheap. Infact I was dubious regarding the cheap price as I was sceptical that the mascara would be much good for that low cost. However, my friend had looked good so I was happy that this would not be the case.
The mascara comes in a variety of shades which includes black, briwn and navy. I always use black mascara as I am very dark and so any other colour just does not do the job for me.
When I unscrewed the wand from the container, I was pleased with the texture of the brush. I liked the fact that the applicator brush was quite long, which helped me to reach the corners of my eyelashes with ease. The mascara itself. Is not too dark when compared to other black mascaras. I was a little disappointed with this as It did not offer me the dramatic look I was after. But for daytime use, I find this mascara to be perfect.
When I do want to create a more dramatic effect I find that an added extra coat makes the mascara much more defined. But in turn this makes me feel uncomfortable as I feel the mascara is quite heavy and somewhat irritating.
I don't find the waterproof aspect of this mascara to be very effective at all. In fact I have on occasion found that the mascara has run quite alot when my face has been in contact with water. I would never rely on this mascara if I was going on holiday and was going to be in and out of the pool as It just doesn't stay in place for me.
I find that the mascara does tend to get a little clumpy after it has been used a few times. However when applied this is not evident. It offers an even coverage to the eyelashes, without any unsightly clumps. It also has a good effect on seperating the lashes which prevents the eyelashes looking stuck together and messy. But on the other hand it doesn't look too seperated which is great as I hate it when people wear mascara that helps them look like they have spiders legs instead of eyelashes.
As far as Im concerned regarding this product. I would say that for the price it is perfectly adequate for a everyday mascara. It is nothing special and does not make my lashes look particularly defined. However, I am very dark and so maybe if you have a lighter hair colour you may find this mascara more beneficial. In fairness, I don't think that this mascara is much use in the waterproof department. Infact in my experience it is quite poor at performing it's waterproof duties.
I do continue to wear this mascara on a very frequent basis. Simply due to it's cheap price and ability to offer me great daytime eyelashes which are very subtle. But I would not go out and buy this mascara simply for it's waterproof properties or for a night time glamorous look mascara.
For someone who is just starting to wear mascara, I think this collection 2000 product would be perfect. Simply because it offers a hint of colour without being too heavy or dramatic. But again I would repeat, if you like your swimming or have an outdoor job then don't bother as you will end up with panda eyes!!
I have been using Collection 2000 Waterproof Mascara on and off for over 10 years now. I always buy new mascara products to try (the ones they advertise as being great, and have all these extra features) and always end up going back to Collection 2000 waterproof as it never fails me! I have quite long thick eyelashes, and this mascara seems to be the only one that keeps my lashes curled all day (the other mascaras seem too heavy and don't hold the curl for long). I will definitely be using this mascara for a long time to come. However, the picture shown is the old picture, it's now in a light blue tube and looks funkier, and the wand is longer than it used to be. It's definitely very good waterproof mascara - the only thing I can use to remove it is baby oil and cotton wool ball, which is great as it is a waterproof mascara so wouldn't expect anything else. Would definitely recommend this mascara over any fancy expensive branded mascara out there (you can also buy this brand in your local supermarket which is great!) It comes in black or brown. Go and buy it! :)
I do not tend to wear make-up on a daily basis but I do like to make an effort when I am going out in the evening. My husband prefers me without make-up so I tend to stick to mascara and a bit of lippy. I have tried loads of different mascaras. They go off quite quickly because I do not use them very often. I have used Collection 2000 Waterproof mascara in the past because it is so cheap and when you use it as rarely as I do, there does not seem much point splashing out on something expensive. It is true though that you get what you pay for.
I tend to use waterproof mascara because, due to the fact I rarely wear make-up, when I do, I forget that I have any on and rub my eyes as I normally would and then later find out I have big panda eyes. Also, due to the fact my eyes are not used to the weight of the mascara, I find that I blink less and so my eyes get a little watery. For me, waterproof mascara is definitely the way ahead!
The waterproof aspect of this mascara does work. It is not smudge proof but because it is waterproof, if I do accidentally rub my eyes while wearing it, it tends to create a powdery dust, rather than big smudge marks... still not a great look but every little helps!!
It does claim to increase the volume of your lashes by four times. Not seen any evidence of this with mine. But then to best honest, I have never used a volumising mascara that actually volumises. At the end of the day you are coating each lash with a layer of mascara. No matter how much you spend you cannot create extra lashes that aren't there. you can only lengthen the ones you have. Collection 200 does that.
It can clump a little but that might just be because I do not use it often enough. It definitely clumps more than the expensive brands though. I think this is partly the mascara and partly the fact that the brush is a little big.
However, at £2, you can't really complain. It is waterproof and lengthening. It doesn't create volume and it can clump.
I've been using this mascara for a while, mostly because it's fairly cheap! I would love to be able to test out the posh brands, but hey, I'm a student so rent and food comes first!
This mascara is from the Collection 2000 which can be brought in Boots, Superdrug, Tesco etc! It seems to be a bit of a teenager brand! I'm not insulting anyone here, except whenever I'm buying my makeup, the Collection 2000 bit does seem to be surrounded by 13 year olds.
I go for the waterproof mascara for 2 reasons: anything can set me off in tears, and I walk to uni even in the rain! So clearly waterproof mascara is the way to go. Since the brand has done it's change of packaging, the tube has changed since the picture at the top of the page. It's a pale blue tube, which gets wider at the lid end. In darker blue lettering is "Aquamax" and "totally waterproof mascara" written in smaller lettering along the length of the tube, and the brand name at the top, just under the lid. At the top of the lid is the usual sticker with the shade on there.
This claims to give 4 x more volume. I wouldn't really agree with this. I haven't found it to be any more volumising than any of the other mascaras I have used that haven't made that claim.
Also, it says it is 100% waterproof. Well I can't disagree here because I've not had any panda moments, so that's got to be a good thing. And the good thing is that it comes off easily with makeup remover.
Fragrance free: I'm confused, do other types of mascara have a fragrance???
I have found this mascara does clump quite a lot though, and it's not like I've even had this tube for a long time! I could understand if it was fairly old, but it's not! Putting it on takes quite a while by the time I've been making sure I don't have clumps on my eyelashes. It collects around the top too...
This brand is the cheapest I have seen, and the mascara is priced at only £1.99 which is drastically different to all the other types that are around £6-8!
In conclusion I think I will stick with this one, until I can either afford to test other brands, or I find a brand that definately doesn't clump loads...
Collection 2000 Waterproof Masacra!
Where would a girl be without mascara, LOST. If I have only one piece of make-up it would be my Foundation but after that I would say Mascara without a shaddow of a doubt.
Mascara is used on your eye lashes to highlight your eyes. You can get mascara in many colours however I tend to go for the good old black shade.
Of all the mascaras I have tried this one is one of the best for the price. I bought this for around 2 pounds from Superdrug and it has lasted me for ages. My eye lashes are pretty short and this mascara also gives volume as well as being waterproof, so it saves all those black lines if you have been crying or got a watering eye!!
The mascara is not the best on the market, and is outclassed by some of the leading brands i.e rimmel and max factor but for 2 pounds this mascara is a great product.
The tube itself is blue and has a silver lid with a brush attached. The brush is straight and lacks any shape unlike some of the better models which help to increase the volume of your eye lashes.
Overall, a good product for the price
Before I start, the bottle pictured is the old brand. The new one is a lighter blue, with a longer brush and has a funkier shape at the top.
I always buy this mascara from either Boots or Superdrug and it costs around 1.99 to 2.49.
Although it is cheap, I find it to be excellent quality. It lasts all day, and the brush gives a nice shape to your eyelashes so you dont have to even curl them.
Its quite a strong mascara, so you need to use facewipes to take it off. I find I have to nearly pull at my eyelashes to get it off. I have worn it whilst swimming, and in the shower, and it didnt run in the slightest which is brilliant.
Its quite thick in texture and I find I have to buy a new one every 2 months or so as there doesnt seem to be enough liquid in there to last more than that, using it once a day.
I buy the black colour, but you can also get it in brown. I havent tried the brown so I cant give an opinion on it.
I would recommend this to people who dont have time to reapply mascara during the day and night. It lasts from the morning well into a night out. I would also recommend it to people who dont like curling their eyelashes as it really doesnt need that as well.
I think this mascara is great value for money and provides an alternative to the usually very expensive waterproof mascaras of well respected brands.
There or at least I thought would be no time in my life where I would require the services of Boots make-up department, after all I'm a real guy with all the real guy bits and most of them are still in reasonable working order. So I hear you say why the heck is he writing about something he doesn't use. Well strictly speaking I don't use it in the conventional sense, I don't even use it in the right places, it was a substitute, a trial, an endeavour to produce an effect and when all is said and done it did the job and did it well.
So there we were our department had won an award and along with it came a canny amount of those multi-coloured paper things that one can spend. So our boss decided on a night out, a good old fashioned **** up with the added attraction of it being optionally fancy dress. I had but a few weeks to prepare if since fancy dress was my chosen option.
It took me ages to sew a poncho, I got the gun from good old Argos, I borrowed the hat from my son, and my wife made that silky thing that goes round your neck. A small piece of leather braided and linked from wrist to finger added that little extra touch and after a quick glance in the mirror I was pretty happy with the transformation from Don to Clint Eastwood, except for the fact that I still had a grey bread. It was at this point that my other half made various suggestions as to how to over come the problem, one of them being.............................YEP you got it mascara.
I must have walked miles and shyly asked as many assistants for a product which would or might do the job. I was nearing the end of my tether when I walked into Boots somewhat disheartened. The girl was a sheer delight, she had me up and down the mascara aisle trying to find a suitable colour, finally she picked up Collection 2000 Lash defining Mascara which was a very good shade for the purpose in hand. I think the girl thought I was off my trolley as she laughed and took my £4.99 which I thought at the time was quite expensive.
On the night of the Party it was time to put into effect all that had been planned, I was completely rigged out and ready except for the beard and sideburns. The product itself had a very cosmeticy smell which I guess is no surprise, and it was quite thick and yuchy looking. It was however a pretty shade of brown. Now I had trimmed my beard quite short to look more the part and the mascara went on an absolute dream to both my beard and my eyebrows. It took about ten minutes for it to dry at which point I put another coat on. It was simplicity itself. It did at some points seem to clog a bit but once it had dried a little the brush quickly removed any unwanted clumps.
The night was a great success, so much so I won a DVD player for my efforts. All in all I had forked out some £12 on bits and bobs £4.99 on the mascara.
The mascara was a life saver and although I did not use it for its intended use I did get a quite good idea of how to apply it to hair or lashes. I found it to be a very good quality product and believe than if used for its intended use it would no doubt have been quite high up on the mascara charts.
When I buy my make-up I only buy a few quality items, I have always found Collection 2000 products were really good. They were quite expensive compared to your normal make-up but in the long run it’s well worth it. I normally used the normal Mascara which was very good as well but I always found for some bizarre reason finding my eye lashes sticking together. This was with a cheap brand so when a friend suggested a better brand Collection 2000 was my first choice. I bought a Waterproof mascara because I normally go out in the evenings and with the weather so unpredictable the last thing I want is mascara running down my face and spoiling my make-up. It was easy to use and my eye lashes no longer felt like they were going to glue together. It looked quite good without seeming to modest and I was happy that I had actually gone out and bought it. When the rain came, I didn’t care because I had confidence in this mascara. It may seem very small but to people who know it can save you a lot of hassle, the last thing you need is mascara running down and you needing to dash off to the toilet. I had a really good night and thank-fully I had no mascara problem, my make-up stayed in tack and I was very impressed. The Waterproof mascara cost £4.50 which is excellent value it does more than it’s job worth, just think no more worrying about your mascara running and for me to no more feeling as if my eye lashes are going to stick together. Collection 2000 are an excellent choice for make-up, they are just quality and the products last. They have a good range of products. You can buy the Waterproof mascara from any make-up stores or even chemist. I would recommend this product to all you females out there, it helps you stay prepared for any occasion. And if you go to see a soppy film you will have no more worrying what your face will look like.
I was used to using Max Factor Aqua lash because I only like to use real waterproof mascara, ie the kind that won't even come of when you are swimmng. I could no longer find this brand so upon a friends recommendation I tried this and it's really surprisingly good a wee bit flakey after about 8 hours butt really passable it's waterproof mascara, only £1.99!! I have also tried there range of long lasting lippies and ditto ditto ditto, On top of all this when I has cause to complain about a product that broke the customer service was great, they replaced the liptick and sent me quite a few useable freebies!! RESULT!!!
