Collection 2000 Big Fake Mascara
by k2705
When it comes to buying make up I often will stick to the same brands, but from time to time I am persuaded to try something new when it is on offer. I was recently looking for a new mascara and was planning on buying my regular brand when I spotted the Collection 2000 Big Fake False Lash Effect Mascara, I have used Collection 2000 ... products in the past and have found them to be of a reasonable quality so I decided to give this mascara a try.
Packaging
The Collection 2000 Big Fake False Lash Effect Mascara comes in a chunky black plastic tube, this is wide in the middle and thins out towards the top and bottom, the top half of the tube is actually the lid, this has a clear tip to it which in certain lights looks black and a bright pink band around the bottom of it with the words "Collection 200" written in it in black.
The main part of the tube has the name of the product "Big Fake False Lash Effect Mascara" written on it in pink and white writing. The back of the tube has a small amount of product information written on it in white, this includes a few facts about the mascara and the ingredients, the packaging is quite plain but it does tell you what you what you need to know.
When you unscrew the lid you will find the mascara brush attached, the handle is of a reasonable length giving you plenty of room to hold the brush and apply the mascara comfortably, the brush itself is a traditional style brush made up of soft bristles, the brush is also quite large and chunky so I was sure that it would coat all of my lashes effectively.
The Mascara
The Big Fake False Lash Effect Mascara is said to double your lash size with its lash boosting tube effect technology, it was this and its promises of no clumping and smudging that made me want to try this mascara.
I already have long eye lashes but I do like to go for a lash boosting mascara so that it makes the most of my eye lashes, the fact that it is also a non clumping one is also important to me as I really cannot stand clumped together eye lashes, in my opinion it is not a good look and to be honest feels really uncomfortable so if a mascara promises not to clump I am happy.
The information on the back of the packaging says that this mascara will plump and stretch each lash so I was sure that it would fan my eye lashes out nicely making the most of the length.
The consistency of the mascara is pretty standard and when you remove the brush from the tube it seems to be spread evenly over it which made me confident that the mascara would spread evenly and smoothly over my eye lashes.
I purchased this mascara in Ultra Black but it also comes in Black and Brown. It does state on the back of the packaging that this mascara is water resistant, it does not say waterproof so I took it that this means splash resistant rather than soaking your eyes.
Price and Availability
I purchased my 8ml tube of Collection 2000 Big Fake False Lash Effect Mascara from my local Superdrug, it cost me £5.99 which compared to some other brands is reasonably priced. I was happy to pay this price for the mascara as it is quite a bit cheaper than some brands.
My Opinion
I have been using the Collection 2000 Big Fake False Lash Effect Mascara for a little while now and have been reasonably pleased with the results.
I have found that the mascara tends not to smudge and is water resistant to a certain extent.
For me the way the mascara went on and whether it clumped was the main thing and I have to say applying it was reasonably easy, the mascara went on quite smoothly, I did find that when applying the mascara it did clump a little but they were easy to remove with the brush, however this did mean I had to spend a little longer getting my eye lashes the way I wanted them.
The mascara did enhance my eye lashes and make them stand out and it also lasted well, it didn't crumble off during the day and still looked good in the evening just before I took it off, it even withstands a trip to the gym.
The mascara is reasonably priced and I would consider purchasing this product again, although I do not prefer it over my regular brand, but if this was not available I would consider the Collection 2000 Big Fake False Lash Effect Mascara.
I would recommend this mascara to anyone looking for something reasonably priced, however there is not a huge range of colours to choose from and it can take a little longer to get your eye lashes looking just as you want them Read the complete review |
