I was excited to try this product after hearing some good reviews and could see it was good value for money. I've always had thin and short eyelashes so needed a good mascara to see a difference, and to be honest I found this to be poor. I'd put it on and barely notice a difference, and would end up having to go over my own eyelashes with a different mascara. I also have a habit of rubbing my eyes and found that the product came off very quickly on my hands. It is also was not good if my eyes even started to run at all. I'm not sure whether it was just me who had a bad experience, as I have seen good reviews but it will not be a product I will be buying again! Especially with the amount of great mascaras that are on the market for the same price.
This was one of my first mascaras and I loved it for a while before I changed to l'oreal voluminous. I got it at a drugstore after hearing many good things about it from youtubers about how it gave lots of volume and that it could hold a curl. The fact that it could hold a curl caught my attention as I have asain lashes that point straight down and that only strong waterproof mascaras can hold. Packaging: I don't how the tube is really bulky and that it's not a constant shape so it keeps rolling off my counter and falls on the floor. The brush is made of plastic bristles, which I usually don't like, and is very big and chunky. That is annoying because it makes it hard for my to reach my inner tiny lashes. However, what I do like about the brush is that it doesn't collect very much mascara so no clumpy lashes!! The brush also separates the lashes nicely. Color: I bought this mascara in black, which is actually a nice, dark black. The color is perfect as it isn't too intense and is a shade darker than my natural lashes since I'm asian and have black hair. It also comes in brown, black brown, and very black. Performance: It holds a curl!!! That was the first thing I loved about this mascara because I have tried countless drugstore mascaras that do not hold a curl! Also, it truly is waterproof!! I cried in this and while my eyeliner had smudged, my lashes were still perfect! The mascara defined and separated my lashes well, adding a little length to my puny short lashes. As for volumizing, it did a pretty good job, but it wasn't as dramatic as I would like. Basically, it would be a great everyday mascara, but not if you want to look like you're wearing false lashes.
I just tried CoverGirl's newest mascara called LashBlast Fusion and my overall reaction is that it is good. It's not the best mascara I have ever tried but it is one of CoverGirl's best mascaras. Let me first disclose that I received this particular tube of mascara as a full sized sample because I am a member of a website called Bzzagent that sends me new products to test out in return for my unbiased opinions. I tried the color "very black" it comes in a purple tube. This is not the only mascara I have tried from CoverGirl lately. Prior to getting the LashBlast Fusion mascara I tried 2 other recently released formulas from CoverGirl. One was called CoverGirl LashBlast Length that came in a yellow tube and LashBlast Volume that came in an orange tube. LashBlast Fusion is supposed to be a combination of LashBlast Length and LashBlast Volume so that you don't have to use 2 separate mascaras to achieve the look you want. When I tried LashBlast Volume (in the orange package I was not impressed at all. The brush was humongous it looked like I could poke my eye out with this thing and the formula was not anything special. After applying one coat it was as if I had not applied any mascara at all. It just hardly showed up at all on my lashes. The second coat was not that much better, now this was concerning to me because I am a blonde so my lashes are blonde too. The color I was applying was "black-brown" and I could have gotten my lashes as dark as this by just brushing them with water. So, if you are going to buy a CoverGirl mascara make sure you buy "very black". Don't worry it is not as dark as it sounds. I was not at all pleased with my first CoverGirl mascara experience but then they released a new mascara called LashBlast Length. This one came in a yellow tube and the brush was long and skinny so I thought I would give it a try. I figured this time I will get black instead of black-brown and the long slim brush looked more like what I am used to using so I was hoping that this would be the perfect mascara for me. Nope, this one was useless too. I preferred the skinnier brush to the fat one but the formula was just not good at all. The first coat looked as if there was barely any mascara on my lashes and the second coat didn't help much. Now, after spending $20.00 on those 2 CoverGirl mascaras that I will never use again I was sent a third new Covergirl mascara through Bzzagent. Luckily I didn't have to pay for this one, I requested a "very black" one this time because of my bad luck with the lighter colors. This mascara is called LashBlast Fusion and it promises that I don't have to choose between volume and length because this mascara provides both. It comes in a purple tube with one of those fat brushes that I am scared of. It turns out that "very black" is the color to go with and the formula is much better than it's predecessors. No flaking, no smudges it goes on clean and stays where you put it. A second coat makes it look just perfect. I got used to that big bad brush eventually and can honestly say that it is a good mascara. It's not my favorite mascara but it will do. It is many times better than the first 2 I tried. It's a little difficult to remove at night but it's not that much of a problem. So the winner is CoverGirl's LashBlast Fusion (the purple one) in the color very black. It is a good mascara for everyday wear and while I would never recommend the first 2 mascaras I reviewed I would definitely recommend Covergirl's LashBlast Fusion variety. It seems like they are continuing to get better and better with each mascara they release. Lashblast Fusion is available in 4 different colors which are very black, black, black-brown and brown. It is widely available at just about every drugstore chain and most grocery stores carry it. The retail price ranges from 9-10 dollars.
I just got delivery of this mascara and really love it. I couldn't find it anywhere in the UK, so bought it from the US ebay. I paid £3 plus postage, so thought it was a good price as Maybelline and similar mascaras cost more than I paid for this Covergirl one including postage. The full name is Lashblast VOLUME blasting mascara, they also do one for lengthening which is a yellow tube, so you won't get them confused. It comes in a sealed pack with a lid on the actual mascara tube and the brush on display, which I liked as you can see the actual brush, bristles etc before they are coated in the mascara. You just throw away the lid when you open it and use it like a normal mascara from then on. Colour choices are Very black, black, black brown and brown. I chose black brown as it is dark enough to give you a great look, and not as harsh looking as the black alone. This mascara gives you instant volume and fullness, is smudge and smear-proof, hypoallergenic and suitable for contact wearers. Covergirl says 'Its patented volume-boosting formula and patent-pending brush max-out every lash, leaving you with the ultimate big lash look.' It gives a very good look, is not at all clumpy or 'heavy' on your lashes like some volume boosting ones. I am really fussy about mascara, (love my Blinc mascara but it's not volumising) and was sick of spending money on ones that I hated as soon as I put them on, but this one is a keeper, and I would buy it again. The thickness is just right, even with one coat, and even though it is volumising rather than lengthening, the lengthening effect is good too.
Having gotten rid of all of my make up due to the fact that it was old and really not usable any longer. I was on the search for a new mascara that would make my lashes look a 1000 times better. I came across this little tube of magic at a local make up shop. It was marked for clearance and I could not pass it up. It was the very black color and I just knew it would make a great addition to my pathetic make up collection. I have very short and stubby lashes that could really use some serious help. I have tried everything that has been available in mascara's but nothing really works. I mean they work for a little while but then they start to flake off aggravating my eyes and making me look like a raccoon. So I figured that I would give this a chance as I was able to get it on a killer sale. I got the tube of mascara home and opened it up I figured I would give it a try and see if it could really give my short stubby lashes the blast it promised. I opened the tube, pulled the brush out and was impressed by the huge brush it looked as if it would give very ample coverage. I leaned in close to the mirror and started to apply the mascara. I was so happy it gave great coverage and the brush made it easier to apply than any other mascara I have ever used. I love this mascara. I now wear make up almost every day again. Its so easy to apply this mascara you cant help but want to wear it every day just for the great big long lashes that magically appear after applying it.
So I had heard mixed reviews on this product, but I was long overdue for a new tube of mascara. Since Cover Girl is relatively inexpensive (This will run you between 5-7 US dollars) I picked up a tube. I like the look of very dramatic lashes and hoped this would live up to it's hype. Surprisingly, I found this to work pretty well. The brush is absolutely massive, which makes getting into the corners, coating smaller or bottom lashes, a bit difficult. But I found it coated well and added some volume and thickness to my already long thick lashes. I didn't experience much flaking either while wearing this throughout the day. Overall it seems to be a pretty decent mascara. Pros: The black is a nice dark black, coats well and does add drama to the lashes. Low to no flaking. Cons: Brush can be difficult to wield, seems to dry quickly in the tube and is more prone to flaking the longer you have it.
I recently found this product for sale amongst the other cosmetics in my local poundstore. I had heard good reviews about it but was under the impression it was strictly available only in the US. It cost me a pound (surprisingly!) but I'm sure it would retail for more in an everyday shop. It doesn't seem to be stocked regularly in that store but I have since purchased it on eBay for relatively cheap. After doing a little research on this somewhat mystery product I discovered that it was manufactured by "Procter and Gamble" and is the exact same product as Max Factor's "False Lash Effect Mascara" - also made by "Procter and Gamble". On certain Max Factor adverts it even states in small text that it is 'sold as Lash Blast in the United States'. I have also tried the Max Factor version recently and not onlt is the packaging the same - just a different colour - but the results are too. However it more than eight times the price so I shall continue to scour my local pound shop for this one :-) "Lash Blast" is packaged in a chunky, smooth, bright orange tube. The wand is also bright orange and is one of those thick rubbery ones found in some mascaras. The 'bristles' themselves are only about 2mm long which in my opinon means it will usually thicken lashes nicely. So far I have found it in 'very black' and 'brown black', both of which are rich and pigmented and the consistency is quite thick. It has a shelf life of six months like most mascaras. There is a stopper inside which removes any excess product from the wand which means no clumping! With one coat this product lengthens well, whilst the close together 'bristles' mean it seperates them too. For a natural look, one coat would definately suffice, but I like really thick, plush lashes so I apply another coat whilst the first is still wet. This really thickens the base of them, especially if I wiggle the wand at the roots. Although the brush is large, it can still coat the lower lashes without making a mess or smudging everywhere. This mascara wears really well, without smudging or transferring to the upper eyelids throughout the day. It dries quickly without leaving the lashes feeling too crunchy or brittle, though I have noticed that sometimes the very tips of the mascara flakes off after a few hours but it's not overly noticeable and doesn't harm the lashes below. It is removed easily with makeup removers but will not come off with water alone as some do. I'm very pleased with this mascara overall, I just wish it were more widely available. As I mentioned earlier it does pop up on eBay quite often or you could buy the Max Factor version, but keep an eye out for the bright orange tube as it's a really nice mascara :-)
