Who Are Creative?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Since 1979, Creative Nail Design have developed professional products and services for the beauty industry, concentrating on products for hands, feet and nails. They are originally an American company, who are now just as popular all over the world, including the UK. They are one of the most popular and I must say the best brand of products for hands, feet and nails in the industry. If you go to salons quite regularly or are in the beauty industry, it is likely you will have heard or even used Creative Nail Design. I use their products for all things hands, feet and nails and will never use anything else as I know the standards of other products don't even come close.
Creative Ridge Out
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Creative Ridge Out is a ridge-filling base coat that has been specifically designed to mask imperfections, provide a smooth surface and ensure nail varnish sticks to your nail without slipping off and prevents it from peeling and chipping.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Who is it suitable for?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

It is suitable for all nail types but has been specifically designed for people with ridged and damaged nails as it creates a smooth surface and disguises nail imperfections, ensuring the nail varnish sticks.

Use & Effects
~~~~~~~~~~
A basecoat should be used on natural nails before any colour is applied. Basecoats have been specially designed to be on your natural nail and have properties that help your nail conditions rather than if you put a colour or top coat straight on your natural nail, where it could damage it. Applying a basecoat protects your nail, prevents staining and doesn't weaken you nail either. Applying a basecoat also ensures that your nailvarnish lasts longer as it has a good canvas to stick to. You can also use a basecoat alone to treat a specific nail condition. Now, don't let this put you off applying nailvarnish, you should just always make sure you apply a basecoat as your first step.
To apply you should start with a clean, dry nail (remove any dirt or previous nail varnish with an acetone free nail varnish remover). First of all generously apply your basecoat using 3 strokes. If desired you can apply a colour ontop after you have left the basecoat to dry for several minutes. You must make sure you let the basecoat dry before you apply another layer otherwise the lower layer will not be able to dry and can even lead to fungal infections as you are giving it a nice warm damp atmosphere to live in. You should polish under the tip of the nail and over the nail, sealing the edges. This encases the nail and protects it from breaking or chipping. After you have applied a colour, you should then apply a top coat the same as the basecoat. This seals the colour and protects the nail. You must ensure you have let the 2 coats of colour first dry, otherwise you will smudge the colour and you will have to start again.
Creative Ridge Out dries very quickly, it takes a little longer than other basecoats but dries in about 1 minute and 1/2, and it actually does unlike other nail varnishes which claim to do so but really don't. Once you go along and have painted every nail, the first one you painted will be dry so you aren't left waiting around and you can move onto the colour. Basecoats and topcoats do however dry alot quicker than a colour anyway, they have a thinner consistency. You must wait till the basecoat and colour have dried before you apply a coat of this, as each layer needs to dry fully otherwise your varnish will smudge and as stated above can lead to fungal infections. You can apply two coats of this for more effective results and to make sure you don't miss anything out. You can use Creative Ridge Out on all nails, fingers, toes, acrylic and gel, female and male.
This definitely fills in any ridges you may have. If you use just anything on it, the varnish will sink in and won't actually have chance to dry correctly. Ridge Out has specially designed properties to ensure that it does fully dry. This basecoat is great if you do have trouble getting nailvarnish to stick to your nails. It doesn't damage your nails at all, it protects them from any damage not wearing a basecoat can do. I find this makes your nail varnish last longer than using any other basecoat but if you do have a specific nail condition such as very weak nails, I would recommend a treatment basecoat such as Toughen Up. Using this won't hurt your nails at all if they are weak however; it just won't improve them like a specific treatment basecoat would.
Creative Ridge Out is long lasting, whether worn alone or with a colour on top. How long the nail varnish lasts also depends on how you treat your nails. If you are very rough with them, they are much more likely to chip or you dig around in the garden a lot they also will. If your hands are in and out of water a lot and you don't wear gloves, then I would definitely recommend that you use a cuticle oil or moisturiser regularly. If you don't, this will make your nail rigid which can lead to breaks and chips in your natural nail which will result in the nail varnish also chipping. A cuticle oil or moisturiser prevents this from happening and replenishes the moisture lost from the water. Although colour does adhere to it, your nail will naturally grow up naturally with your natural nail so you will have a gap between the bottom of the nailvarnish and your cuticle, there is nothing you can do to stop this. I would recommend when this happens that you remove your nail varnish and start again rather than just painting over what is already there as that can create bubbles and it won't stick as well or last.
Ridge Out paints on smoothly and isn't goopey or sticky. It is recommended that you clean the bottle neck with nail varnish remover regularly to avoid build up and the bottle lid sticking to the bottle. The nail varnish is easy to use, with a good sized brush. The varnish doesn't turn gloopy, watery or clog up the brush. If the varnish starts to get thick, put a drop of nail varnish thinner in and shake well. To prevent this, keep nail varnishes out of direct sunlight or warm areas. As with all nail varnishes, this one does smell too, but you can only smell it when the bottle is open and you are applying it, once it is dry you can no longer smell it and it doesn't linger on your nails.
A 15ml bottle will last you about 8 months, if used quite regularly, so this really does last quite a long time and if kept out of sunlight it will ensure it lasts this long without turning gloopey or watery. I purchase a large one every few months, when used at least ten times a day for 6 days of the week, so again, even that lasts a long time.
Price & Availability
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Creative Ridge Out is available in two sizes. The first being the standard nail varnish bottle size which is 0.5 fl. oz. (15 mL). This can be purchased for a RRP of £9.95 but can be found on various websites between £3.99 and £10. The cheapest website I have found is www.tailormadenails.co.uk. The larger bottle, which is the salon size is 2.3 fl. oz. (68 mL) and can be purchased for an RRP of £23 but can be found on the same website as the smaller one for £10.99.

Conclusion
~~~~~~~~~
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who suffered from ridged nails and has the problem that nail varnish doesn't stick to their nails. The nailvarnish paints on quickly, dries quickly and lasts. The bottle also lasts a long time and the price isn't too unreasonable.
