The colour of my lip gloss is a pretty pink colour which looks quite subtle when you are wearing it and it also looks quite pearly and shiny. The tube is 13ml and it is clear so you can see the exact colour and also how much is left. There is an black screw top which is as wide as the tube so it is plenty big enough to open and close and the top of the lid is flat so you can stand it up on the lid.
There is a wand which you use to apply the gloss which has the usual sponge applicator. To use I will turn the wand in the tube and then apply it to my lips. I don’t like to wear too much make up I often only have to apply it to my bottom lip and then rub my lips together gently so that it spreads to my top lip, but if I am going out I will apply it on both lips and take a bit more time. It does smell quite sweet and it tastes pleasant if you lick your lips.
I would describe the consistency as quite thick but it does spread out evenly and I find that it dries very quickly. I would say that it lasts on my lips for at least a couple of hours but obviously if I am eating or drinking it would need re-applying sooner. Although it looks quite pearly in the tube it does dry quite matte which I like as it looks more natural than the really shiny glosses.
This is a lovely quality lip glos which goes on easily and stays on my lips, so I do recommend it and would buy it again. The prices for this lip gloss range from £3 to £7 so it is worth waiting until you can get it on offer.
I ordered this from Avon just before last Christmas.
It was in the sales brochure that sometimes comes with the normal brochure, and it was only £2, plus you got a giftbag for only £2 if you bought it, so I decided I would have the lip gloss for myself and give the gift bag to someone for a Christmas present.
The design on the lip gloss looks a bit more proffessional that some of the other lip glosses you can buy from Avon, which all look perhaps a little boring. This one has flowers decorating it which adds a nice touch, I think. The lid is also a nice black.
The colour I have this in is a berry shade, so it is quite bold and vibrant and makes my face look a bit lifted, according to my friend.
I think this was a bargain at only £2 as it is so much better than some of the lip glosses I have bought in the past, that have cost more than this.
The shade lasts about two hours but it comes off if you drink or eat whilst wearing it and then you have to put more on.
The bottle didn't last me long, only a couple of months and I only used it about every other day. But saying this I think I would still buy it again and I would recommend it, because it is a great lip gloss and a really good bargain buy.
When it comes to lip gloss I've never really been a fan of the stuff to be totally honest with you. I've just never been a fan of having to re=apply something every few minutes and I hate lip stuff that comes off on everything my lips touch or it simply smudges or something like that! Usually I use Max Factor 'Lipfinity' cos I can paint the stuff on my lips and it stays put pretty much all day and that type of product suits me just fine.
However like many women out there other products catch my eyes from time to time and when leafing through an Avon catalogue that came through my door with nothing I needed being in the book I decided to treat myself to one of these to try out as I liked very much the colour I chose (there's only one colour at the moment of this type in the book).
The gloss came in an outer wrapper and that was a sort of dark blue colour with little coloured flowers on it and I was told what it was and who was by and the colour I picked was stated (Plum Orchid). The size is stated on there too which is 7ml, contact details for Avon are given as well as loads of information in foreign languages. That outer packaging peels off and you dispose of that and what you end up with is an oblong, plastic see through tube with a long black lid to one end that you untwist and attached to that you have a long white plastic wand with a small brush on the end of it. Down one side of the tube in black I'm told it is Cynthia Rowley and there's a small picture of flowers on there and then finally to the base of the product there is a small white label and on that the colour is again stated along with size and contact details for Avon. It's a nice looking tube and stores lots of product and I like being able to see the colour through the tube and all round it's easy to use.
Well it has a slightly fruity smell to it which is actually delicious and when on the lips tastes a little sweet but it's perfectly nice enough. Applying it with the brush is so easy and the brush feels soft and it's small enough to stay in control with at all times.
The gloss on the brush glides onto the lips with complete ease. It feels a little oily and not one bit gloopy and I find one brushful of colour is more than enough for me to paint my whole lips with though of course you could layer the colour if desired.
I find when this is on the lips it feels really smooth and none sticky, however for me it makes my lips feel a bit squidgy and unnaturally soft though to be fair not heavy. It does feel kind on the lips and gently hydrating and I find the colour to go on very evenly and that it's rich and glossy in a none trout pout plastic way but for me although it doesn't feel sticky as such it transfers onto everything it shouldn't with far too much ease for my liking..... Cups, cigarettes, people whatever! Even with doing nothing I found the colour only stayed put for about 45 minutes and I'm not the sort to keep applying something like I said earlier so I didn't!
Nice results are easy to achieve with this product. My lips look slightly wet and with a grown up juicy look opposed to a high gloss finish but for me I just can't be bothered and my lips didn't feel as good as they looked. Now I'm not out to discourage anyone about this cos you have to remember that I'm an ink lip fan and not used to moistness on my lips but even so I personally wasn't happy with all the transfer I'm afraid.
This is currently on sale at Avon for £2.00 a tube in only the colour I have but it will usually be £5.00.
