Just recently I have been going out rather and I decided to update my make up a bit. I usually purchase Max Factor make up but when I was looking on Amazon for a reasonably priced lipstick in a shade that I wanted I chose one from this brand.
Delighted with it I decided to order a few more bits of bobs from the range.
Nicola Roberts is a member of Girls Aloud. Or she was..... but hey I don't know they keep reforming so I shall say she still is lol. She's known as the pale skinned girl one with ginger hair and this Dainty Doll collection is hers and she launched it in 2010. I heard of the make up around about then but to be honest didn't really see it in the shops and I have no interest in cosmetics and the likes endorsed and/or made by so called (in my opinion) z lister celebs.
However as I say I was looking on Amazon.co.uk and this popped up under blushers they had on sale. Knowing that the range is designed for pale skinned girls I bought one. I am really, really pale and if I'm not careful with makeup I can end up looking overdone or even worse.......like a clown so I paid just £2.85 for a blusher from this range (including postage and packaging). Please note though that other colours are available from this range and they do vary in slightly in prices however we are advised that the retail value of all of the blushers is £13.50 and none of the shades cost this much on Amazon however do Google these if interested for a list of stockists.
The box this comes in is black with a cartoon picture of a ginger headed girl on the front of it and we are clearly told in gold writing that it is Dainty Doll, Nicola Roberts and then on the back of the box other information listed includes being told a bit about the product, the ingredients are listed, we are told that the product weighs 7g and contact details for the manufacturer are clearly given. The compact itself is matt black in colour and made of plastic and once again on the top of that in gold writing we are told that it is Dainty Doll, Nicola Roberts and on the base of it once again the weight is given, we are told that it is blusher (and the colour code is given, in my case its 001) and contact details for the manufacturer are once again given. Its all very nice packaging and not cheap looking packaging or too heavily celebrity endorsed type of thing.
The Compact Itself:
What you get is a lightweight, but with plenty of product in it of the blusher compact. The casing flips open and close and to the top of it you get a very large and real mirror. No applicator comes with it but you do get a very large 'round' of pressed powder which to me is the most important thing anyway. I like the large mirror you get with this and the ease to which it opens and closes as well and that the compact is robust and all round well made.
The powder of this blusher is fine but it clings to my blusher brush well, it has no scent to at it and isn't messy to use. I apply this over my foundation with a large and good quality blusher brush I already own.
First off I have to admit I went too light with my colour option and it looked darker shown on Amazon to what it really is however is it so light I ended up making a rather good choice really as I use this as a highlighter so all is not lost!
Containing Vitamins A and E its rich in antioxidants and it has Vitamin C within it too which is said to reverse wrinkles and age spots. I don't know if any of these claims are really true to be fair but what I can say is that this blusher feels smooth going on, feels smooth once on and is not one bit heavy on the skin and does give a lovely finish and it doesn't highlight any fine lines that I have. My cheeks just feel so silky soft after using this! It lasts hours on my cheeks and doesn't make my skin look caked in blusher and it looks fresh and gives my complexion a really brighter look. I can build the colour up with this and it doesn't transfer once its on and I have to admit to really liking this alot and thinking that this is a superior quality product! Its simple to remove too and all in all I think that this is fabulous, as are all of the Dainty Doll products that I have purchased so far!
All I will say is be careful when colour choosing (particularly online) because as I mentioned earlier this is a bit lighter in tone that I would have liked but hey ho next time I will be brave and go darker....and yes it will be a darker shade from this range cos it really does make my skin feel and look smoother and it doesn't agitate my sensitive skin so thumbs up to Dainty Doll, Nicola Roberts once again for this offering!
