      Very helpful

Not awful but certainly not the best product from within this range sadly!

I am not a fan of wearing anything on my lips. I don't like the feeling of gunk on them however when I do go out I don't feel 'finished' until I have lipstick and the likes on!

Lately due to getting ill and being dehydrated and stuff my lips have felt really dry and when venturing out on the rare occasion my lipstick could look tacky on dry skin. One thing I really didn't own in my make up collection was a lip gloss which I thought may not only help with the general condition of my lips but may also help to not make the dry skin look so prominent.

Just recently I have gone barmy for Dainty Doll by Nicola Roberts cosmetics and have bought rather alot of them. On my first purchase of a red lipstick (Saucy Sailor) I was skeptical about it being any good. I'm 39 years old and I appreciate quality and I didn't think that a product, the brain child of a previous singer in a band was going to be much good at all to be honest with you. I sort of live by the opinion that people should stick to what they are good at and if I want make up I go looking for Max Factor, perfume = Chanel and Dior and so on. I do not want childish looking make up products in my collection either! I don't want to be in a pub loo with a cheap looking lippy with Nicola Robert's name splashed all over it however the nice thing about this range of products is that her name is discreetly on the products and all of the products that I now own from this range do look surprisingly classy!

Dainty Doll was launched in 2010 by Nicola. Aimed at women of any age with pale skin. You can purchase say dark lipsticks with light reflectors in them meaning that although you get the colour they tend not to look harsh and me I really, really am very pale indeed and have struggled for a long time to get the right foundation and blushers and so on and so I have found this range to be a god send to me plus its not expensive if you buy it from the right place and me........I buy all my Dainty Doll products from Amazon and they certainly have been very cheap to buy and this lip gloss cost me just £2.10 including postage and packaging but has a retail price of a whopping £11.50 so to say I'm pleased to have found this range so cheaply is an understatement and I have to admit that I'm such a fan I would be willing to pay more if I had too (please don't tell Amazon that though eh lol).

      The Packaging:

This lip gloss comes in an oblong matt black coloured box with a cartoon picture of a woman with a big shock of ginger hair on it and we are told in gold lettering that it is indeed Dainty Doll, Nicola Roberts and then on the other sides of the box we are told a bit about the product, the ingredients are listed, we are told that it is 8ml in size, that from once opened to use it up within 12 months and contact details for the manufacturer are stated. The lip gloss itself is very nicely packaged too and it comes in a matt black plastic tube with a twist on/off lid to one end of it and then on the side of it again in gold lettering we are told that it is Dainty Doll, Nicola Roberts and the colour shade is stated to the bottom of it (001), we are told what it is and the size and contact details for the manufacturer are again given. I personally like the look of this lip gloss tube and I like the way it doesn't scream out what it is or who it is by, some may not like it however due to not being able to see how much you have used and how much you've got left in it and so on however but me I think if you like it then buy a couple at the price I paid and don't worry about it! I think there isn't a lot worse than seeing the contents of a much used lip gloss bottle anyway!

      The Lip Gloss Itself:

Well its easy to open and close and its a robust tube and you do get a lot of product for your pennies. To apply it you can directly do so as in the lid there is a white, small and good quality sponge applicator attached via a 'wand' which is slightly angled upwards. Because I haven't been well though and don't feel that its all that hygienic anyway to go using the applicator provided and shoving it back in a tube to fester whatever germs you have I always use a lip brush that I already own to apply it with cos I can wash it after each use and know that the remaining lip gloss is as clean as it can be!

You can of course apply this to bare lips or over lipstick....that is up to you of course and this one is a clear gloss.

This contains natural plant wax, beeswax and Vitamin E and is rich in antioxidants so is designed to be kind to sensitive lips.

Its very simple to apply and I find with this one less is certainly more because in my view it is really greasy, great for my sore lips though! It gives a nice, natural shine and not one containing glitter and if I add a little to my lips it really does make them look subtly shiny and healthy and keeps them feeling moist for the duration of its stay which with eating, drinking and/or smoking can be about half an hour or a little longer, if I do nothing it stays put for a good hour either way though I can always feel it on my lips as it is a little sticky.

The biggest issue I have with this one is the taste of it though, especially upon first being applied. It does taste a little weird and like plants which I don't really appreciate and there is nothing I can do to combat that however it isn't vile or anything but it has took me a bit of time to get used to.

So if you apply a little it does give good results and to be fair it has been kind to my lips and helped with my dry skin issues and I do like the shine that it gives to them however..... apply to much you are going to end up with out of control lips that trout pout all over the place but I have learnt now how to get the best results from it. I have even applied a little to my eyebrows of this to keep them in place and it works a treat!

Not my favourite product from the range but not the worst lip gloss I have ever owned either and although I'm sort of on the fence about this one I do still see its excellent quality but doubt very much I will purchase it again!
