I don’t mind paying a lot for make-up if and only if I think it is worth paying for. There are a lot of brands that are expensive but they don’t so anything that a cheaper brand wouldn’t do so I won’t pay the money for them.
Dior Addict is one of those brands where I think that it is worth paying the extra for them because they are just so nice. I bought myself an Extreme Addict lipstick a couple of months ago and it has now replaced Chanel as my all-time favourite lipstick which is something that I never thought would happen as Chanel has been my favourite for years.
The Extreme Addict lipstick is just absolutely gorgeous right down to the packaging. If I am paying a lot of money for something then I want to feel like it is an indulgent treat and the packaging on this makes it feel expensive and luxurious.
It was hard to pick a colour when buying the lipstick as there were so many to choose from. I wanted a bold red and I normally struggle to find a nice bold red hence why the Chanel one has been my favourite for so long but with these there were at least four different reds that I loved. I ended up going for Delice Ecxtreme and it is absolutely gorgeous and just the exact shade of red that I wanted.
It is a very bright and bold colour and I wear it when I am wearing minimal make-up everywhere else to give my lips a really bright pop of colour. It looks gorgeous but it isn’t a colour for people who want something subtle as it will get you noticed.
Everything about it is just so nice from the application where it just glides on my lips to how it looks when it is on. The colour has some shine to it and doesn’t look dry and I don’t even need to apply anything over the top of this to stop my lips from drying out as the lipstick is very moisturising on its own.
Overall this is such a beautiful lipstick and one that looks expensive on my lips which is just as well because it is expensive. It cost me £22 so it isn’t a whim purchase but I love it and keep it for good because I don’t want to use it all at once.
I have always had a love/hate relationship with lipsticks.
I love the colour, I love the smell, I love the packaging and I love the glamour of standing in a mirror whilst pouting to paint it on. However, NEVER have I found one that doesn't dry out my (already very dry) lips. Even the ones that promised to be moisturising. Even over a lip balm. And as I have a penchant for very striking colours, this only emphasises the problem.
THIS IS DIFFERENT! This does not dry out my lips and feels very comfortable on. Unlike many 'moisturising' lipsticks, the colour intensity is not compromised, which has lead me to buy this in a dark rouge-noir, a bright red and a bright hot pink. The colour collection is regularly updated and always on trend.
It has only mediocre staying power....I suspect due to it being so moisturising. However, it still has better staying power than most moisturising lipsticks and the packaging is so beautiful, it would be a waste not to get it out for reapplication every so often!
