Advantages: smooth easy application, looks great on, huge range of colours

Disadvantages: cannot stand it the right way up

My sister kindly offered me her Dior Addict lipstick a few months ago, not long after she first bought it because she said the colour was too similar to that of her lips so she didn't see the point in it.
I snapped it up and have been rather pleased with it.

~ Appearance ~
The lipstick appears the same as the one in the picture, but it does not stand up on the rounded end as it is not flat - it is bulbous and it is shaped like a miniature doorknob.
This is the worst thing about the lipstick for me. Although I do really like the shape, I like my perfumes and lipsticks to stand up by themselves.
To avoid this problem I could turn this lipstick upside down and it would stand on its lid fine, but I prefer to just keep this lipstick in its original box, which my sister gave it to me in.
The box is a shiny silver colour and it appears different colours in the light. The front of the box has the words, 'Dior Addict' and then in small letters at the bottom of the box, 'light feel vibrant lipcolor'.
The lipstick lid covers almost the whole lipstick except for the gold coloured doorknob shaped base of the lipstick.
The cover is made from semi-transparent plastic and is a dark grey colour with, 'Dior' imprinted into the side of the lid.
Once the lid is removed the lipstick is housed in a gold coloured tube, which has 'Dior' written in large letters round the part that you twist up. It twists up easily to reveal the lipstick.
The product itself is about one inch tall and has an angled edge for ease of application.
The top of the lid has a round sticker on with the name and number of the shade on it. The shade I have is 384 and is called Rose Scenario. It is a dark pink/ brown colour.

~ Price and availability ~
This lipstick is available at larger Boots stores, Debenhams, John Lewis, Selfridges, House of Fraser and most other department stores and is priced at around £22.00 - £25.00.
It is available in a wide range of colours. It is currently available at www.boots.com in 53 different colours.
The current packaging showing on the Boots website is slightly different to the one I have. The lipstick casing is slanted as is the lipstick itself. I much prefer the design I have, which I consider to be a proper lipstick. I am not keen on slanted casing on any lipstick and while it doesn't stop me from buying lipsticks, I don't think I would pay £25.00 for a lipstick that is not ideal for how I like to apply it.

~ The lipstick ~
The lipstick has a very light two tone shimmer to it, which you can see in the actual lipstick.
It is smooth and easy to apply. It has a creamy consistency and glides over your lips effortlessly. It does appear quite subtle on my lips, but it adds a little bit of colour. The shimmer appears very slight.
The lipstick feels moisturising on your lips, which is always a good thing and it also has a light lipstick/ cosmetics smell to it, which reminds me of other lipsticks that I have used in the past.
You are not constantly aware of this lipstick on your lips, which is good as I have used lipsticks and lip glosses in the past, where this has been an irritating aspect of wearing them, making them feel rather uncomfortable.
The lipstick looks nice on my lips. It gives them a light shine and adds a bit of colour. It doesn't highlight every crack in my lips, like other lipsticks I have used. Even on my lips I think this lipstick looks of a very good quality.
I have found this lipstick to be very long lasting. It lasts a good 5 hours, but it does need to be reapplied after eating or drinking.

I would buy this lipstick again if it was in the same packaging as the one I have (the one pictured), but looking on the internet I can only seem to find this in the slanted casing. I don't think I would buy it with the slanted casing as I am already inconvenienced enough due to the rounded base of this lipstick, which is impractical.
I think it is an excellent quality lipstick and has everything else I want in a lipstick - it is creamy and moisturising, it looks good on, it is long lasting and I am not constantly aware of it on my lips.
A great lipstick - I will not knock a star off for the inconvenient shaped base. 5/5

Summary: I love this lipstick!
