I received this lip gloss as a present from my Mum a long time ago in shade number 557, which is a lovely bright shimmery pink. This lip gloss is very expensive, as you would expect with it being a Dior product, and it is currently selling at around the £20 mark from shops such as Debenhams and Boots. Because of the high price you have to pay for this, I don't think that I would buy it for myself, simply because I can't really afford to pay so much for a lip gloss! However, if you can afford it then it really is a great product, and I was thrilled to receive it as a present.
I think you can tell that this is a luxury product before you even open it, as the packaging oozes luxury. The tube is transparent, which means that you can see the colour of the lip gloss, and has the words 'Dior' running down it. The top is silver with the Christian Dior initials 'CD' located on a raised section on the top, and it's these little details which make it look like a luxury product.
The lid is easily unscrewed from the tube, and the applicator is a brush, which I find allows me to apply the lip gloss precisely to my lips. The lip gloss is very thick but doesn't seem at all sticky, which I find to be an issue with some other lip glosses. I love the amount of gloss that this product gives my lips, as it makes them very shimmery and glossy but with only a very small of the product, which means that you can use it again and again and it lasts for a long time. I find that the gloss has very good staying power and some still remains on my lips after drinking. It also makes my lips feel nice and moisturised.
The only slightly negative thing I want to mention about this product, other than the price of course, is that the gloss can over time leak slightly from the sides of the lid. However, this is only starting to happen after I've used it for a huge number of applications, and I feel that I can't mark the product down for this when it is such a great lip gloss, and it only requires for the excess gloss to be wiped away with a tissue for the problem to be solved.
Overall, it is a very expensive lip gloss, but it is also one that does a very good job of making lips look glossy by using a very small amount of product.
I love lip glosses because I find that lip sticks can be drying and their colours are often too vibrant and attention drawing for my liking. My lip gloss collection is much larger than ever is necessary for it to be but nevertheless I keep adding to it. My latest and more extravagant addition is Ultra-Gloss by Dior.
What does the product do?
The product is first and foremost a lip gloss which promises to make the lips shine and look pretty. It also claims that it will make the lips appear bigger because of the shine complex which contains glass microbeads coated with a crystalline elixir which all sounds very impressive to me. It promises as well to make your lips feel hydrated and to coat your lips with a beautiful colour.
The shades come under three different headings. You have the Glow shades which are nude and subtle shades for those who don't want to stand out too much and then there are the Pearl Shades which have an iridescent finish and a bit more colour. Then there are the Flash shades which are the vibrant and bright shades for the more daring amongst us. The shades range from pale pinks to gold to deep reds and they are all accompanied by lovely names such as Party Lilac, Extravante Grenedine, Coral Fantasy and Satin Peach. I opted for the Pretty Rose which is a pink colour with shimmering particles.
How do you use the product?
The product is to be applied to the lips either alone or over your favourite lip stick using the enclosed wand. It can be applied as often as necessary.
Packaging and Price
The product comes in a lovely transparent tube and you see the exact colour inside. It looks really expensive and it has a screw top lid and the wand is underneath. The product doesn't come cheap which is to be expected from a product by Dior. It will cost you around £22 for each lip gloss and while this is expensive it should last you a very long time. It can be bought from large department stores which have a Dior counter and also from many online websites.
The wand has a very short and small brush which allows you to apply the gloss really precisely to the lips. A little bit of this goes a long way and I can cover my whole lips with the same application but if you want your lips really, really glossy then you may want to apply some more.
The product doesn't come with an aroma at all which I was supposed at because the colours look really fruity. The consistency is really thick and is one of the thickest glosses I've ever used. It doesn't come with any flavour either so it won't be to anyone's disliking. The product has a really glossy finish that does make your lips stand out and look pretty. My gloss is incredibly shimmery and it is packed full of glittery particles. This was no surprise though as you can see the shimmer through the bottle and there are other shades which come glitter free if shimmer isn't your thing. The gloss is very last lasting on the lips and it can withstand me eating and drinking. The gloss feels comfortable on my lips and it doesn't feel sticky. That being said, my hair does sometimes get stuck to the gloss on a windy day. I think it makes my lips look bigger in that it makes my lips appear fuller but it doesn't have that horrible stinginess that sometimes accompanies products of this type. The product looks and feels luxurious and you can tell it apart from the cheaper glosses which are available in the shops.
All in all, this lip gloss comes in a variety of shades that should suit everyone. It gives long lasting results, pretty colours and a gorgeous glossy finish. This product is expensive but its worth paying for in my opinion if you manage to find a lovely shade that you can wear all the time.
Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Reflect is one of the best lip glosses out on the market currently. Although it has quite a high price tag cost, for those willing to invest in a beautiful lip gloss is in for a treat with Dior! I personally wear No. 677 which is a glittery hot pink colour but not to worry - it applies nicely and is subtle on the lips leaving my with sparkley, glossy, pink tinted lips. This lip gloss lasts for ages if one is not eating because as with most lip glosses, it won't last long if eating things like sandwiches. The best part of this lip gloss is that it is not gloopy and hence you don't get that feeling that your lips are stuck together and don't also get horrible 'peaky' gloss when moving your lips. If you don't like colour 677, then you can always pick from their huge range of colours.
As a fan of Dior make-up I was initially drawn to buying this product through it's advertisements and also seeing it displayed at the Dior make-up counter in the department stores such as House of Fraser and Debenhams.
But does it live up to it's advertisements?
Theres no contesting that this product has a fabulous range of shades, and gives a luxurious glossy shine to your lips, which works well on it's own as well as working brilliantly over a pre-applied lipstick.
The packaging is equally as glamorous, with "Dior" engraved in the glass, cube shaped packaging, it is definately hand bag worthy and sets itself apart from other brands of make-up, with the finishing touch of the dome shaped metallic feature, which is iconic with many of Dior's cosmetic and perfume range. You definately feel luxury when you get this out of your hand bag, as it's packaging is glass not plastic, as most lip glosses would be.
However, at £22.50, it is certainly a pricey buy as far as lip glosses go. For the same price you could get a foundation, blusher and even a couple of eye shadows with a cheaper high street brand of make-up. But if you're wanting to treat yourself with a quality, lasting glamorous purchase, this definately gets my vote.
This Christian Dior Lip gloss is absolutely amazing- I use it every single day!
What it is?
This is Dior Addict Ultra Gloss Reflect and I would recommend colour 257. This is a light pink and it sparkles on your lips making them look extra sexy!
Why is this such a good product?
This is so good because the light bounces off your lips and dazzles your eyes. It is absolutely great and it does not feel to heavy on your lips at all!
The applicator is amazing, it is a small brush will helps you to apply it just perfectly! It comes in loads of different shades and makes lips beautiful!
Is there anything bad about this product?
The only problem is that I feel if you put too much on it can get quite sticky and wear off quite easily!
I bought two of these and ended up having to throw one away because every time i twisted the lid to shut it, lip gloss oozed out. I still do not know why this happens but it annoys me!
Where can I get this product from?
This product is obviously available from all duty frees at a lower price than usual. But, I would recommend buying it from somewhere like Selfridge's or another well know department store.
Make sure you do not but this off Ebay because you don't have a guarantee that it is real or not and there is many fakes out there!
How much is it?
This lip gloss is a round 15-20£ which is quite expensive. But, it is okay as a one off! It is a good Christmas present to ask for.
I would recommend it to women who like their lips to be pumped up, notices and dazzling! This really does the job!
Sometimes you feel that pretty much all the lip glosses are similar and that there's no point getting many seemingly different shades of pink... well, you would not say that after trying this gloss from Dior. Proud winner of several beauty awards (Marie Claire's Prix d'Excellence being one of them).
The foremost thing just has to be the case. OMG the case. The beautifully iridescent case and the shiny silver cap pierces a girl's heart every time without fail. Truly living up to the name 'Reflect' I say.
I also loved the quality of the brush; firstly a brush allows for delicate application compared to a doe foot applicator and Dior brush actually has good quality - resilient and soft and the same time. Also, unlike the stiff brush from Bobbi Brown, Dior brush never (with due care, of course) folds when put back.
Given the price you pay for 6ml of this gloss, it may be on the steep side of things. However, you will not regret the money spent, I promise.
The gloss does not have any fragrance, which must be a plus for those of you who are sensitive to cosmetic scent.
With more than 20 colours on offer (starting from the best selling hot pink with blue pearl #557 to the bold and daring red #757, to be followed by the limited edition for spring #517 etc.), this Dior gloss has something for everyone. They are always adding to the collection to follow the trend and as you may already know, their colours never fail to please. The colour is very true; what you see in the case is exactly what you'll see on your lips. This also serves to mean that you don't need much of this gloss to reach the perfect evenness on your lips.
The pearls in this gloss (whether it be very fine shimmers or more eyecatching e.g. in the case of #557) is varied but one thing is for sure: you will never feel them on your lips. Moreover, they seeming to exude a sort of light on their own, reflecting deliciously to create a glass-like quality to enhance the volume of your lips.
This gloss has a relatively light texture and is not sticky at all. It just lightly stays on your lips unbeknown even, that it's quite wonderous that it actually stays on for longer than you'd think.
This gloss contains hyaluronic acid which moisturises your lips and also makes it stay that way. So this would be the obvious choice when your lips are not in their tip top condition.
I already own 4 of these and am already on the lookout for more!
I received this as a present a few months back, a beautiful sparkly, bold red (this person is not my best friend for no reason at al, she has immaculate taste and knows me completely!).
I absolutely love it - it is the perfect lipgloss, with a very light comfortable texture - not at all sticky - a lovely colour that makes my skin look brighter, my eyes stand out, my teeth look whiter (it really is magic in a little tube).
It is very pricey for just a mere lip gloss, but it seems very long lasting both in the tub (have used it very often, and the level is showing no signs of lowering) and on my lips. The colours in the range are exquisite, and if the others are like my rich red they will show up well on the lips as well as in the tube!
Would definitely recommend this - by far the best premium lip gloss I have tried.
This is the crème de la crème of luxurious, vibrant, high shine lip-gloss. Warning: this is not for the shy and timid as it will make heads turn and people will be fixated on your lips and hanging on your every word.
I was having a browse at House of Fraser and was mesmerised by the picture of the girl with the bright pink, extra sparkly and shiny lips. I had a few pink lipsticks and glosses, but never seen anything like this before. I love my make up bold and vibrant a lot of the time, and I'd been dying to own one of these super shiny, attention grabbing glosses for ages.
The last time I tried a Dior addict gloss, it was nice, shiny, but not quite as bold and daring as I wanted it do be. I think these come in 2 different varieties, the normal glossy ones and the sparkly glossy ones. I owned a regular one and was happy with its quality and shine, but I'm always on the look out for something more in your face and this was exactly what I wanted!
I went over to the counter and got the make up advisor to put some on me. It was exactly the shiny, vibrant and daring shade as on the photo! I just had to have there and then! The texture is a beautiful, sleek but not sticky, very shiny and long lasting lip gloss. The vibrant colour and high shine and sparkle just add to the bold look that I'm going for. I know this stuff is pricey, but to me, it's worth the extra as it's a shade and long lasting super glossy finish I don't see often in other glosses.
This comes very highly recommended and is an awesome luxury gloss! The tube looks very classy and I'd say it would make an excellent gift for someone special. Do bare in mind that the person you're buying for can't be afraid to wear bold and daring shades, as this will attract more than just a glance!
