Advantages: Really waterproof, divides and enhances volume, great colour
Disadvantages: Pricy!
I decided to buy Diorshow mascara after a friend of mine let me try her non-waterproof version. One thing I noticed instantly was the brush shape: it's quite oversized and bushy and looks a bit strange, but it really did the trick of separating lashes and adding volume. So another day, just before my birthday party, I went to Debenhams and treated myself to the waterproof version (in brown, if that matters). It cost me around 18 pounds. Not a cheap one, but it was worth it!
First of all, I would like to chant praises to the brush. As I have said above, it's bigger than a normal mascara brush, and it's quite bushy too. I believe that's why it separates lashes so well, providing even coverage without any clumps. I rarely put more than one layer of mascara, but even with one layer, the lashes look much much bigger - but still natural!
I always go for waterproof mascaras because I often "cry" when it's cold or windy outside. So it's important for me how the mascara deals with tears and all. Well, this one is just great: it dries up fast, and no smugling or undereye flaking throughout the day! The flipside of such great performance is that if you occasionally paint your eyelid when you apply the mascara you have to use special make-up remover to get rid of the stain. It's not a big problem though, all you have to do is soak a cotton bud in make-up remover and it's all done.
The colour is perfect too, a deep brown, not too light, and not too sparkly. Perfect for everyday use. If you want an evening look, you should put two layers, it builds up without any problems.
There is a "rule" that you should change your mascara every two months or so, according to some hygenic reasons. Frankly speaking, I don't really believe that, and I use the mascara just as long as it doesn't get dry and clumpy. So I feel I should mention here that the Diorshow lasted for a year, although I used it almost every day! The price may seem high, but it's great value for money taking into account how long it lasts!
So, averall, this is a high-class mascara, a truly luxury piece of make-up from a luxury brand.
Summary: A great waterproof mascara for everyday use
