Dior Diorskin Foundation
Advantages: light, blend-able, great coverage, natural matte finish, radiant glow
More than a year ago, I was given a sample of the DiorSkin Nude, so as it was free, I was quite happy to try it on! I Love foundations and I usually try lots of them as I have a quite fair skin and red cheeks that I try to hide with my foundation. The sample I tried was for the shade Neutral No 30.
What surprised me first - and seduced me, let's say it - was how long I kept it. When you usually try a sample, you use it once and can't use it again another day to compare. With the DiorSkin Nude sample, I had 3 days worth of applications, which was pretty good and enough to get an actual idea of the product.
I don't know how you girls apply your liquid foundation, but I like to apply mine with my fingers, so I can feel it as I blend it. I find it very easy to blend and it is nearly undetectable on the skin. It gives a matte finish that gives a natural result, as if you were not wearing any make up at all. It is very light and doesn't give this "cakey" effect that you sometimes get with other liquid foundations. It is also fragrance-free, which is even better!
The shade I tried on was slightly darker than what a Dior Lady would recommend to suit my skin tone, but to my opinion that's why it looks so good! It gives me this healthy natural glow that makes the difference. When I started to wear it on a daily basis at work, my colleague did see the difference as she said I looked glowing but couldn't put her finger on what had changed.
It comes in a nice simple packaging, with a pump dispenser. Usually to cover my face and neck, 2 pumps are enough (and it's non-messy). When my cheeks are redder than usual, I add half a pump (cheeky, I know!) on them and my skin tone becomes even!
I don't need touch-ups during the day as it seems to stick to your skin pretty well ( I need to wash my hands 2 or 3 times in the morning after blending it), but I do touch-up if I go out at night (we can never look too perfect, can we?)
It says on the package that it is hydrating, but as I use a moisturiser under it, I wouldn't be able to tell if it hydrates your skin or not.
I don't think I need to mention that after I tried the sample for 3 days I went to buy it straight away, and that it became my favourite liquid foundation since then!
Overall for me, a great product worth the extra money!
Summary: my favourite liquid foundation, so worth paying the extra £££!
