I bought this foundation because the one I was previously using was discontinued. I chose Maybelline's Dream Matte Mousse because its one that a lot of my friends use and recommended to me. I also chose it because my previous foundation was a mousse one too.
I'm very pale and managed to find a nice shade that looks good on my skin. The foundation gives my skin such a lovely texture. The foundation has a lovely feel and makes my skin feel really soft. Since I've started using this foundation my skin has changed from dry to greasy and the result this foundation gives hasn't been effected by this. The foundation never made my skin any drier when I used it with dry skin and the foundation does stay on my skin even now my skin is greasier.
It is really easy to apply and a little goes a long way. A light layer really makes a different and covers up any blemishes and gives me a really even complexion. It covers up any red or shiny patches that I might have really well and I rarely have to use concealer with this foundation. It even covers up spots pretty well. With such good coverage you might expect the foundation to feel heavy and thick but it is actually really light.
The foundation does last pretty much all day but I do usually reapply once during the day because although it continues to gives the nice texture throughout the day, I do notice the coverage doesn't seem to stay as well and so any blemishes I have start to show through. Saying this, the results remain really good for probably around 5 hours or more and of course after this amount of time I will have been rubbing my face and sweating etc.
Although the matte mousse is fairly expensive it is worth it because one pot lasts me months because I only have to use such a tiny amount each day. There is no need to pile this foundation on to get an even finish. All of my friends use this foundation now and we all have very different skin tones and types and it is one we have all used for years as it gives such a nice finish.
