“ Brand: Duwop / Type: Lipstick „
Duwop is a cult beauty brand , who are probably most famous for coming up with the first lip stick designed to give bee stung plumper lips which they called lip venom.
The women behind Duwop a celebrity beauty artist and hairdresser came up with this idea while they were working on a film and lip venom took off from there as there was nothing else like this, they then formed their own company to sell their products.
They still produce products that are innovative and not on the market and their latest claim to fame is coming up with a lip stick for Stephanie Meyers of Twilight fame called Twilight Blush.
I came across the brand in Space NK many years ago where I bought the anti venom lipstick. I think the name comes from the fact that this isn't one of their lip plumping venom lipsticks, but it is a fabulous lipstick nonetheless.
It comes in a grey plastic tube which has a clear plastic end which has a dummy lipstick which shows the colour. It is quite a big tube and any concerns I had about the durability of the tube have long gone given I have had this for at least 10 years and it is still intact. My only gripe about the container is that the lid comes off sometimes.
I love this lipstick because it is really long lasting. It will last several hours and the colour will be intact even after eating and drinking as it stains your lips with a wash of colour rather than a solid mass.
It is lovely to apply , it doesn't drag on the lips which is something I find sometimes with matte finish lipsticks and has a lovely slight vanilla taste. Apply one coat then blot your lips with a tissue and follow with a second coat for a really long lasting lipstick.
It has a slight satiny sheen but is more of a matte finish than really glossy which is really nice but I sometimes put some gloss on top for a glossier finish.
The exact colour has long since worn off the bottom of my tube, but searching on line for this I have just ordered a replacement called fluffy ruffles which is a dark pink red. I love this colour as I think it would suit most people and I think the finish of this lipstick is really flattering.
I use this a couple of times a week , usually on an evening rather than a daytime look and because you don't need to reapply it probably explains why I have had this for 10 years. I do use other lipsticks but none are as long lasting as this. That is probably why they don't appear to make this any more as once bought you don't need to replace very often. So a victim of its long lasting quality I suspect
I have tracked a couple of colours down at yesstyle.co.uk who have this at £8 and there are some on ebay , but if you want to try this it won't be around too much longer. I actually paid more than this as they don't do cheap in Space NK , but it has been a fantastic purchase as I still have some left 10 years down the line.
It still smells really nice of vanilla so shelf life is not an issue with this and a the tube is only slightly scratched.
Duwop do not test on animals
Would I Recommend
Yes , buy one while you can as this represents great value for money at £8. It will last for ages and has a lovely finish in a range of really flattering colours.
Great value at £8 , you won't regret this purchase.
