I have tried a few bronzers in the past all with bad results, as I am pale with cool undertones, most bronzers on me look like I have been tangoed, my face doesn't match my neck, I just look like I haven't washed my face for a long time or the bronzer has that much shimmer I look like a disco ball. It is surprising difficult to find a bronzer without some sort of shimmer, even higher priced brands have a little shimmer. Shimmer in a bronzer is a no, no, unless you're a teenager maybe as you can carry it off. But when you get older you want to enhance your natural features without looking like you've tried too hard or are too over done. People you meet you want them to think wow she looks good and not wow her makeup looks good. Because of my problems with bronzers in the past I wasn't going to purchase anymore bronzers but somehow I was sucked into ELF Cool Bronzer. ELF say their Cool Bronzer is an ideal selection of colours to use all year round. Cool Bronzer comes from their Studio Range and costs £3.50 for 13g of product, which is a lot compared to other bronzers on the market. ELF's Studio Range packaging looks a lot like NARS, which is a higher end cosmetic brand and their Cool Bronzer is no exception, Cool Bronzer comes in a matte black plastic casing with a flip lid that closes securely with elf Cool Bronzer written in white. Inside you will find a large mirror that covers the length of the lid and the product itself is protected by a clear sheet of plastic. This bronzer comprises of four different colours, the top row you will see a white and dark brown shade, which has elf engraved into it and the bottom row is a lighter brown and a pink. The white colour used alone feels and looks a little chalky, however this colour looks good as a highlighter when blended in properly and doesn't look chalky when mixed with other colours, dark brown colour is very dark in the pan but on the face and blended in looks natural, providing not a lot has been applied. The light brown colour shows a lot sheer when blended onto your skin and the pink colour is a lovely natural wash of colour that just gives your face a pop. You can also use this colour alone as a blush. When I used all three colours separately for contouring none of them looked natural, no matter how lightly I dusted them on my face. But swirl the brush into all four colours and watch your face come alive. To use you simply take any brush you are comfortable with using and gently glide it over the product and tap off the excess on the side of the packaging and with gentle light movements that feels like you're hardly touching your face begin to apply the bronzer just below where you would apply your brush. If you make a fish face you will be able to see more clearly where this product is to be applied. My new trick that I love doing is apply a light dusting of bronzer under your chin and jaw line, this gives the illusion of a firmer chin and jaw, thus knocking off any double chin! Just make sure you only apply a light dusting and connect it behind your ears. Stepping back and looking into the mirror I was very happy with the results and with the first bronzer that hasn't made me look orange, shimmer me like a disco ball and I dont look like I haven't washed my face in a long time is a brilliant result for something that costs so little. All colours go on completely matte, which is a major bonus for looking natural. Personally I only wear bronzers to contour my face and under my chin, I feel with pale skin if I dust it all over to give me a lovely summer kissed glow I look silly and it is obvious I have bronzer on, but if this is what you prefer to do then it is easily achieved with minimal effort. I have worn this product everyday for the past few months now and no one has noticed I have done something new to my makeup, which is another plus and I haven't even made a dent in the product because you get so much product even using it everyday with a light dusting will see over six months of use, properly more. Another big plus for me is this product hasn't broken me out in anyway, which is good for acne/blemish suffers.
