After and impulse make-up shop on ELF, with a basket over £27 pounds, I was faced with the decision to either pay for delivery or purchase an item to qualify for free delivery (if the basket totals £30 or over). The obvious choice was to try a new product. I stumbled across the eyebrow kit and it is the best chance purchase I have ever made. ~Appearance~ The product comes in a compact size case and houses wax, setting gel and an applicator brush with an angled head for the wax application and a puff head for the gel. I was quite shocked at the size of the product, as it was very small; but upon using the product I realised why. The two quadrants( one with the wax the other with the setting powder) seemed to be never-ending with the product lasting over 3 months. ~Pro's~ Product lasts along time. The setting powder actually works Can achieve the perfect eyebrows Comes in a variety of shades Cheap Travel Size ~Con's~ Small brush is hard to use, unless you have dainty hands. Brush once lost, makes the product unusable. (unless you have another one) ~Best Used With~ With the lack of hair on my eyebrows, and a preference for a dark brown I would recommend expanding on the eyebrow kit. In order to gain the perfect eyebrows, I would recommend a longer angled brush as it allows the wax to be more accurately applied as the small brush it comes with tends to be fiddly. I would also recommend the use of an eyebrow pencil to allow a darker finish to the wax. ~Overall opinion~ It is no longer my best kept secret. I will definitely be using this product in the future and I have yet to find another kit that is half as comparable to it. With it's budget sparing price of £3.25 and it being easily available to pop in my handbag, the eyebrow kit is the perfect product at the perfect price.
The product, price and packaging The ELF Eyebrow Kit is easily my favourite out of all the kits that I have tried previously, including high end expensive kits. The product costs just £3.75 and can be bought in 4 colours; light, medium, dark and ash. I bought the Dark kit and it blends in beautifully into my dark brown eyebrows. The packaging is brilliant; it is a convenient, trendy black compact and fits snugly into my make up bag. A small applicator is also included which is handy if you are on the go. I prefer to use a different applicator but cannot find fault with the one given in the kit. The actual product is great quality; one half is a wax that sets the eyebrow in place and adds colour. I use the wax to help define a shape and accentuate the angle of the eyebrows. The other half is the setting powder which should complement the colouring of your eyebrows and adds thickness and definition. Application Using the angled edge of the applicator I outline the shape and define the eyebrow using the wax. I then blend this and then apply the colour using another brush or the other end of the applicator. I follow the shape of my own eyebrows and sometimes after filling them in it helps me see any stray hairs around the filled in area which I then remove. Summary This product is brilliant value for money and the quality is equal to many of the higher end products I have tried. It's compact, comes in good colours and I will definitely be repurchasing. It's a product that can be used daily and can make eyebrows look naturally defined.
=E.L.F Eyebrow Kit= E.L.F. stands for eyes, lips and face, and this product is an eyebrow kit, I will be honest and say it is the first time brought an eyebrow kit, I had got sun burnt and my eyelashes looked really pale and to me felt like they stuck out a sore thumb. =The Kit= The kit is a duo palette which is a tinted wax and a pressed powder to fill and define eyebrows as well as a double ended brush. =Purchase= This is an own brand product and was purchased direct from the online site. I brought mine last year. =Colours= The eyebrow kit is available in 4 colours - Ash, Light, Medium and Dark. I brought the light colour, as i wanted to have some colour without it being too noticeable. =Using the Kit= I firstly applied the wax and I used the firm end of the brush to tidy my brows, then I used some of the powder using the soft end of the brush, blending in with the wax, and once the wax had dried which did not take long to dry. =End Result= This really gave my eyebrows a stronger definition and it not just gave them the colour back but it gave them shape and definition. For me it gave me the missing colour back into my eyebrows. =Would I recommend= I would highly recommend this kit, it gave me the definition and the colour back, but for anyone that has over plucked their eyebrows, or likes shaping this really will make a difference to a lot of people. I used this for a couple of weeks after my holiday, and i used it for Christmas and events for when I need a full make up, the kit looks it has hardly been touched. I can't recall exactly how much I paid, but it wasn't expensive, and this is really a little goes a long way.
For years I have been using brown eye shadow to fill in my eyebrows but have never been too impressed with effect so finally decided to invest in a kit. I had my eye on the sleek one but while point around the elf website I decided to buy this one first. The Packaging The set comes with a powder and a setting gel alongside a small double ended brush. As this is part of the studio range this comes in some really classy packaging that I have seen compared to nars products. The mirror in the product is also real and not one of those fake stickers that often come with these cheaper makeup kits. Extra tools provided This is where I was really impressed a small (but very efficient) pair of tweezers are included for travel and they will work. The next part is a double ended applicator one for the gel the other for the powder. I am down to pan on the product now and I still haven't lost a single hair from this brush. The Colour The powder is a little too light for (I did pick the light set and in hindsight perhaps I should have picked medium) but the gel is actually the perfect colour and I just use that on its own with the little brush provided. I found that the powder also crumbled a bit - but this was after many days spent in my handbag. The gel is just the right colour for my brows and as long as I don't use too much it does not look greasy. Price This is normally £3.75, which would be a good price anyway but I bought mine n the half price sale. I ordered quite a lot at the time and took 7 days to arrive. I picked economy postage do I think this was acceptable. Overall a very good, great value product
***What is it? Where do I get it? How much?*** As the image accurately portrays the elf (eyes, lips and face) eyebrow kit is a duo palette which provides a tinted wax and pigmented pressed powder to fill and define eyebrows as well as a double-ended brush. I purchased this kit online from http://eyeslipsface.co.uk and chose the shade Ash as all previous eyebrow powders I've used have been too warm for my ash medium brown eyebrows giving me a rather odd crazed look, think Johnny Depp in Alice in Wonderland. The eyebrow kit is available in 4 different shades: Ash (my choice), Light, Medium and Dark. ***How do you use it*** I have quite heavy eyebrows (which i like) but over the years have developed a small sparse patch in the centre of my eyebrow which is really irritating and this is why this product is a god-send for me. I pluck my eyebrows once a week tidying up stray hairs and then apply this product after washing and moisturising my skin. Firstly I apply the wax using the firm angled brush which comes with this compact to tidy my brows. Then pretty much straight away I stroke the powder through my eyebrows until the gloss from the wax has vanished using the rounded soft brush. ***Result*** I find that using this product gives my eyebrows extra definition and makes them appear fuller for the whole day without requiring touch-ups. I have also been caught in the rain and thankfully didn't find my eyebrows on my cheeks. I think this product is great for those with medium to full eyebrows and would not recommend it for people who have overly fine or are totally missing their eyebrows. I have seen people on the streets that have tried to colour in their absent brows (generally in a much darker shade) and they look, well...'odd' even odder than me sporting the crazy red Mad Hatter brows. ***Would I recommend this product*** In a heartbeat. I really love how this fills the small sparse area and leaves me looking natural and I really cannot knock this product at all considering it costs less that £4. I've previously tried eyebrow kits that cost £20 upward and they haven't been anywhere near as good as this one in both the shade and the application. Another bonus regarding this kit is it's longevity as I've not hit the pan yet and it's got plenty of life in it after daily use for 3 months.
I don't have much in the way of eyebrows. I'm not really sure what happened when it came to my eyebrows - I have dark hair but naturally thin and very light brows. For the past 8 years or so I have used eyebrow pencils, but as my Mum has commented, they make me look like an old lady. I know they don't look very natural and I wanted to find something that did. About a year ago I tried threading for the first time and if you haven't yet had your brows threaded, I would thoroughly recommend it. The lady who did mine somehow managed to create eyebrows with shape and definition out of essentially, nothing! Since having them done, I thought I'd try something different to colour/fill them in and came across the ELF Cosmetics eyebrow kit. The kit has a powder and wax to help define your brows. It comes with its own little brush to apply the product. The brow kit actually makes my eyebrows look natural and dark as the powder clings to the hairs and fills while the wax gives them shape and helps the hairs stay in place. It comes in a number of shades so you can find something to suit you. The packaging is robust and reminds me of the Nars packaging. I also own the HD brows eyebrow palette and prefer this to that! I won't be going back to my granny pencil ;) The kit cost me approx £3.50, so is very good value and will last for a long time!
When I am putting my makeup on I think that it is very important to have nice, shaped and defined eyebrows as although it might seem like a small matter that doesn't have much effect it really can make you look that extra bit better. It is for this reason that on my last elf haul I decided to purchase the elf studio eyebrow kit. WHAT IS THE EYEBROW KIT? The elf eyebrow kit comes with two products, the brow gel and the brow powder. These products are designed to work together to create brows that are thicker, fuller and more defined. In order to apply these products the kit comes with and dual action applicator, one end for the brow gel and one end for the powder. PACKAGING As with all of the products in the elf studio line this one comes encased in black packaging which certainly looks more expensive than its actual retail price. When it first arrive the kit comes in a cardboard box which has all the information that you need to know about the product such as; how to use the product, ingredients, colour etc. I really like the packaging of the product itself. It is made of quite hard plastic so I have no worries when carrying it around in my makeup bag and it clicks closed to keep the product secure. When you open the case you will see that the two products are glued securely in place and that there is an area that the brush sits nicely. I also like the face that elf have covered the products with a plastic sheet as I like the extra protection and this also helps to keep the mirror that is in the lid nice and clean. Although I think that the mirror may come in handy if you are out and about I personally cannot use it when I am applying this product as to get the best use out of this product I find that I need two hands free. Because of this I tend to just use a big mirror that is in my house. USING THE PRODUCT When I first went to use this product I picked up the brush and thought that it seemed very small and fiddly. It is in fact one of the smallest brushes I think I have ever seen but I persevered. To apply the gel you need to use the angled end of the brush, as you dip this into the gel the gel seems quite hard and only a small amount coats the brush. As I began to shape my brows it is fair to say that only this small amount of product is needed to create the desired effect. Despite my initial worries about the size of the brush I found that it was really easy to use. You do not need to apply any pressure when using this product it is simply like using a pencil. With the gel applied nicely you then have to set the product with the powder. To do this you use the other end of the brush. I have found that you just need to gently sweep this over your brows. This powder not only acts as a setting agent but will fill in any gaps and make you brows look lovely and natural. After applying the product to my brows I had to admire its effect. My brows looked great, the shaping and definition was a lot better than I had expected from such a bargain product. The one worry I have with products like this is that my brows might look unnatural and drawn on but that is far from the truth with this product. Another major reason why I like this product is it's staying power. I can apply this product in the morning and in the evening my brows still look defined and lovely. I have used some more expensive makeup products and even they don't have the staying power like this one! COLOUR CHOICE There are four shades of product to chose from in this collection; light, medium, dark and ash. I had watched a review on this product before buying it and a point that was mentioned was that even if you do have dark hair the dark shades are really quite dark and do look unnatural. Bearing this is mind I went for the medium. My hair is somewhere between light and dark brown and I have found that the medium shade works perfectly. PRICE AND AVAILABILITY Elf products are generally only available online via the elf website which is www.eyeslipsface.co.uk. As I mentioned before this product is from the elf studio line which costs a little bit extra than the ordinary elf products but it is still only £3.50 which I think is a complete bargain. CONCLUSION I absolutely love this product! It really does just set your makeup off and I cannot recommend it highly enough. I can see this lasting my quite a long time as you only need a small amount when using it but when my one eventually does run out I will definitely buy it again. --also on ciao--
As soon as i discovered Elf had an eyebrow kit I bought one. You can get this from the studio range at £3.50 The packaging is really cute, it looks really professional and doesn't take up much space in my makeup bag. Inside you get a little mirror which is the perfect size to use to do your eyebrows and it also comes with a two sided brush. The gel, which is the darker colour, I use to fill in my eyebrows with the angled side of the brush. Then I use the powder part of the product to finish my eyebrows off, but with this I use a concealer brush from elf (this is £1.50) as I find the part you're suppose to use for the powder to be not very good. I use the shade medium and I absolutely love it. I like my eyebrows to look dark and this product gives the exact colour I like. It lasts all day and really gives definition to my eyebrows. I'll defiantly be repurchasing this product and would recommend it to anyone!
My eyebrows are usually left hiding behind my fringe so they can often be overlooked and left un-groomed and un-loved. After seeing a lot of features about big, bold brows being back in fashion I decided it was finally time to smarten up my look and give the strong brow a go. My new favourite cosmetics company is E.L.F., which stands for Eyes, Lips, Face. They are an online retailer and their UK web store can be reached at this address http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk. They have several different ranges of make-up, including their Basic, Mineral, and Studio lines. After testing the water with their Basic range I decided to move on and try some of their Studio range. One of the items that I purchased was the Eyebrow Kit. It costs £3.50 for 2g of product and is available in four different shades. You should pick the shade closest to your natural hair colour to get the best match. My natural hair colour is a very deep brunette and I have dark eyebrows so I opted for the Dark shade. I was impressed by the claims made about this product and this helped sway me to buy it: "Create brows that are fuller, thicker, and more defined! The pigmented wax defines and shapes brows and the colour complementing setting powder keeps them looking arched and perfected. The doubled sided taklon brush has one side to help arch your brows while the other side aids in filling them in. This duo provides lasting colour definition for a naturally beautiful look." The Eyebrow Kit comes packaged in a cardboard box with instructions and ingredients shown clearly on the back. The Kit itself is a small, sleek compact made of black plastic with a hinged lid. Inside the lid is a small mirror which is the perfect size for focusing on your eyes. The Kit contains a brow gel and a brow powder, and it also comes with a small double-ended brush for accurate application. I haven't used any similar products before so I was grateful for the clear directions of use: "Use the pigmented brow gel to define and shape the brows with the angled brush for precise lines. Set the colour in with the brow powder and fill in with the blending brush for a natural finished look." Even from the first couple of applications I found this really easy to use. The brush is tiny and could be hard to grip if you have joint problems or large hands, but it really does give a precise application and allows you to spread the product on easily. To start with, you use the thin, angled end of the brush to spread on the gel to fill in any gaps in your brow line. Once you have done that then use the rounded end of the brush to dab on the finishing powder to set the make-up. It takes a couple of minutes to get it perfect, and it may take a little practice to get both eyebrows looking symmetrical. The results I have had from using this brow kit are absolutely stunning, way better than I had imagined. I find that my overall look has much more of an impact with using this Eyebrow Kit, as it makes my face look more structured and frames my eyes, drawing more attention to them. As well as looking great, this kit has amazing staying power. I can apply the gel and powder in the morning and it will stay in place all day without budging or smudging. I was a bit worried that it might rub off when touched but even with constantly brushing my fringe and touching throughout the day the make-up does not transfer. It removes easily with make-up wipes or cleanser, although on a few occasions I have gone to bed without cleansing my make-up off the brows have even stayed in place through the night! I think this is a really fantastic little piece of kit. The compact is gorgeous and looks really sophisticated, it's also really handy to pop into your handbag and you can use the mirror for touch-ups. The gel and powder combo works a charm and it gives a really defined and polished look to finish off your made-up face perfectly. For only £3.50 this is a real bargain and I would recommend it to anybody. E.L.F. are against animal testing - please keep your beauty cruelty free! A few months ago, my spending had gone a little bit off the rails, and I was buying all sorts of nonsense that I didn't need. I decided I needed to put myself on a budget, but at the same time didn't want to deny myself a few treats here and there! When I decided I wanted some new make-up, instead of heading to Boots as I normally would, I decided to check out www.eyeslipsface.co.uk - known as e.l.f. cosmetics, which I had read about both here on Dooyoo, as well as in magazines. E.l.f. are an online make-up site which started in the USA and sell low cost make-up which they claim is still high quality. This particular product, the eyebrow kit, is from the studio range, which is their slightly more expensive range of make-up, but still with most studio products retailing at just £3.50, it's a lot less than you would pay for similar items in many high street stores. I bought three eyebrow products from elf, and of the three, this eyebrow kit is by far the best. The reason I bought this (and the other two eyebrow products) was because I am not happy with the way my eyebrows look. I have naturally dark blonde/mousy brown hair, which I dye dark chocolate brown. I like having dark hair, but with my pale skin tone, blue eyes and eyebrows that are fairer than my hair, I can sometimes look a little odd and unnatural! I therefore wanted something that would darken my brows slightly, whilst keeping stray hairs in place, and this product sounded like it would do the job. The product comes packaged in a cardboard box and the actual kit itself comes in a sleek black compact. I do like the compact this comes in - it's easy to open and has a handy mirror inside the lid. I think this looks more expensive than it is, as it has that sleek, understated look about it. If I was out and about and saw another girl using this, I would probably crane my neck to see what brand it was! In the kit you get a pigmented gel, a powder and a double ended brush, as well as the mirror in the lid. To use, you need to use the angled tip of the brush to apply the pigmented gel to the brows. The 'gel' is actually quite solid, and you have to be quite firm with the brush to pick it up. I've found that when applying to the brows, it's best to apply it with quite a gentle hand, and sweep lightly across the brows, otherwise you may apply too much colour at once, which can look unnatural. It states on the box that the gel defines and shapes the brows, and that's something I would agree with. I've found that I can use the gel to hold stray or unruly hairs in place, and also use the colour to change and enhance the shape of my brows without actually removing any hairs. I must admit I was slightly apprehensive about applying the powder that comes in this kit. The idea of the powder is to set the colour, but I was a little bit concerned that it may mute the colour or make it look dull. I also thought that perhaps it would sit on the brows, making them look like they were thick with powder, but in fact it does neither of these things... To apply it, you just need to pick up a small amount using the other end of the brush supplied, which is slightly rounded and 'fatter' than the other end. I've found that the brush picks up a lot of powder at once, so I tend to tap off the excess before applying it. The powder is translucent as it goes onto the skin and doesn't alter the colour of the brows or look cakey as I had feared. In fact, you can't even really tell that powder has been applied at all. The overall result I get when using this kit is fantastic. My eyebrows simply look more groomed, and the colour darkens my brows just enough to make my hair colour look more natural. It might be worth noting that I bought the 'light' colour, and if you're particularly fair - blonde, say - you may find this a little too dark. I suppose I bought the light shade despite wanting darker brows, because I've used similar products in the past which have made my brows too dark and slug-like. With this shade I can build the colour up until I get one that I like. The kit also comes in a medium and dark shade. It's worth noting that the results I get from this kit are really long lasting. I've never yet had to re-apply this product throughout the day. It seems that the translucent powder, which at first doesn't seem like it's doing anything, really does lock in the colour, whilst the gel holds hairs in place. At just £3.50 this kit is a real bargain and almost certainly something I will purchase again. As far as I know e.l.f. products are only available online at www.eyeslipsface.com and so you will need to pay a delivery charge (unless you order in excess of £30). Overall, I've been very pleased with the results I've had from this product. The packaging is stylish, it gives my brows a nice shape and colour whilst still looking natural, and is long lasting. Five stars for e.l.f.!
