Advantages: Looks good, lasts well
Disadvantages: Doesn't live up to it's name
I bought this lip gloss along with loads of other make-up from e.l.f in an attempt to cut back on the amount of money I was spending on cosmetics. As with most e.l.f products it costs just £1.50.
It looks really nice and quite high quality despite being so cheap. It's a pen type tube, which is clear in the middle so you can see the colour of the gloss through it. It has abrush applicator, where you twist the bottom of the pen to get some gloss onto the brush, then just brush it onto your lips.
The brush makes it really easy to apply, and you can get very precise application with it, but I would still prefer the sponge-tip wand style applicator as I find these the most convenient to use.
It goes on really easily and smoothly, and you don't need to use a lot of the gloss to get a good finish. I find twisting the bottom 3-4 times gives me enough to do both lips, but it would depend on the kind of finsih you're after. If you want a deeper colour or a higher shine you would need to use more than if you just want a subtle, natural look.
The gloss does look great on, but it doesn't live up to it's name of hypershine. It is nicely shiny and a little shimmery, but it's certainly nothing special. I chose a colour called Fairy, which is a nice lightish pink whcih looks lovely on. It gives just a subtle hint of colour rather than a bold look.
It feels lovely on my lips, and it really feels as though it's moisturising them. It also doesn't feel too sticky, which is fantastic as I hate sticky, gloopy glosses. It lasts quite well for a lip gloss, and I find I only have to reapply it every couple of hours or so, as opposed to every half with most other glosses.
I'm actually really impressed with this gloss. Whilst it doesn't really live up to it's name, it is a really good lip gloss all the same, and I will definitely be buying it in more colours.
Summary: Bargain gloss at £1.50
