Advantages: cheap, nice colour
Disadvantages: sticky, looks very cheap, doesn't last
Having read lots of reviews on eyes lips and face products I made a decision to order a few things on their website. The bulk of the make up on the site does seem to sell for £1.49 which is unbelievably cheap really. One of the items I purchased when I placed my order was a luscious liquid lipstick.
The lipstick comes in a long thin tube which is much like a pen really to look at. It is made from a clear plastic through which you can see the lip colour which perhaps fills around half of the tube. You can also see the sponge tipped applicator through the packaging. I have to say that I think this product looks really cheap and whilst I appreciate it is a cheap product it is not something that I would like to take on a night out with me because of the cheap look.
To use the lipstick you need to pull off the plastic cap to reveal the applicator and then twist the bottom of the product to push some of the lipstick out. The first time you use it the colour does take a while to come through and I probably had to twist the bottom about twenty times before I could use it! Now I only need to twist it two or three times to get sufficient colour for my lips.
The colour I chose was called cherry tart which is quite a deep reddy pink. I did think it would lean more towards red but there is a definite pink tone there. I suppose this is a chance you take when you purchase a colour online but I am quite happy with the colour despite it not being quite as I had expected.
Applying the lipstick is really easy with the applicator and I have found that the cherry tart just enhances the natural colour of my lips a bit which is nice. I find that my lips tingle slightly when I first apply the product and they do feel quite sticky initially which is a feeling I don't like. The lipstick goes on more like a lip gloss I have to say and this sticky feeling does settle slightly after a minute or so and it doesn't feel quite as uncomfortable. The product does transfer quite massively to the skin should you give someone a kiss and the same applies to a glass so it would be nice if it stayed on a little better I think.
For the price of this product I have to say that you do get what you pay for here and if you are looking for a day to day lip colour product then this isn't too bad but if you are looking for something for evening wear I would not recommend it as it needs frequent reapplication and is quite sticky. You can purchase it in various colours from eye, lips and face for £1.49.
Thank you for reading my review!
Summary: won't buy it again
