Advantages: Easy to apply, long lasting, soft on skin,

Disadvantages: Dowsn't give even coverage unless combined. Can dry out skin if used solo.

I have been trying for a long time to find a foundation that not only gave me even coverage and made my skin even along with it being not too expensive and easy to locate. Once introduced to E.L.F (Eyes Lips Face) I decided to give this particular one a try.

*~* Price and Availability *~*

To be honest this is incredibly cheap, I had previously tried a mineral foundation from Avon for around the £10 mark, in comparison this costs just £3.50 for 3.5g! Yes that's correct, not a typo. During various promotional codes this can be bought even cheaper and is definately worth stocking up on if you have the means to do so.

It is only available from the E.L.F website in the UK, however in America it can be bought from various stores as well as online websites for around the world. It can definately be picked up but just to mention in addition to keep a look out in TKMaxx as sometimes the products can be found there for a little cheaper than online.

This comes as an individual round tub with a screw lid which is black in colour and displays the company name on the top. The pot is small and very portable, I found it perfet for adding to my travel case when going on holiday. The bottom is transparent allowing you to see the colour of the powder inside.

On opening the pot you are presented with a 'shelf' that has a lot of holes in, perfect for allowing a little of the powder through at a time. This is protected during delivery by a transparent sticker that keeps the foundation in the lower part. It is easily removed by the allocated flap that peels back.

There is nothing else to say about this, it is not cheap looking but neither is it very expensive looking.

*~* The Foundation *~*

I bought the very lightest shade as I have very pale skin, I generally find that it can be difficult to find a product that blends close enough to my skin but I am happy to report that this one was perfect. I didn't have to blend it to get the right shade which is perfect.

I applied it firstly using a foundation brush. I found this applied the powder a little too thick and so the next time I applied using a large face brush that I normally use for blusher. I found this worked much better. It lightly applied the powder and made my face smooth and evenly covered. I found the powder was very very fine and so I needed a couple of coats to make it do what I wanted it to but seeing the tiny price tag is not a problem in the slightest.

I found that the redness I wanted to cover and the patchiness was diminished but not as much as I would like it to have been and therefore I tried combining the product with a base coat. This was the perfect combination. Any will do, I found using a liquid base and using the powder on top not only gave me excellent coverage, whilst covering up the imperfections I wanted it to. I found that in using it this way my face wasn't as dry at the end of the day as it had been whilst using it solo. I also found it was much longer lasting using it combined, individually by mid afternoon I was finding the powder was clumping and rubbing away whereas together it lasts the full day with no rubbing, clumping or removal at all.

It was exceptionally easy to remove this product with a couple of sweeps of a make up remover wipe. not at all hard to get rid of. I didn't find my skin was any dryer than normally which I was pretty pleased about.

*~* Overall *~*

Overall I think this is a fantastic product, not solo, I really wouldn't recommend that unless you were looking for a light base, not to cover up any imperfections or give an even coverage but combining it is perfect for me and I will continue to buy it as it looks lovely and evenly covered on my skin, it matches my skin tone perfectly and the tub is long lasting. I have used it daily for a month and I still have around half the tub left. I'll give this 3 stars, purely because I feel it has to be combined to give a good result.

Summary: Overall a great foundation if you're happy to combine with a liquid base.
