E.L.F Moisture Care Lip Colour ~About the Company~ Eyes Lips Face (ELF for short) first started in New York in 2004, by American celebrity and beauty professional Scott-Vincent Borba (the man who founded Hard Candy's cosmetics line in 1995 in LA). ELF provides cosmetics for as little as £1.50 and their mineral makeup up to £3.50 They manage to keep their prices low by not using high prices advertising. I bought this lip gloss as part of my effort to cut back on how much I'd been spending on cosmetics, as it only costs £1.50 which is much cheaper than the brands I had previously been using. It looks surprisingly good quality when you see the packaging, it's a nice clear plastic tube which you can see the colour of the gloss through it, and it does look quite nice. It has a sponge tip applicator where you have to twist the bottom of the tube to get some gloss to come out onto the sponge then just glide the sponge over your lips. Another Elf product, this one I was probably the most impressed with...until the other day. But we'll get to that in a second. The New Moisture Care Lip Color is what I would describe as a lip stain rather than a gloss, which comes in eight shades, ranging from pale beige/nude, to bright red, to brown. It's "intensive hydrating elements" (which Elf does not list) are supposed to make your lips soft and supple. So does it work? Yes...but I did encounter a fairly gross problem with the product (read on...)
