E.L.F Moisture Care Lip Colour

~About the Company~
Eyes Lips Face (ELF for short) first started in New York in 2004, by American celebrity and beauty professional Scott-Vincent Borba (the man who founded Hard Candy's cosmetics line in 1995 in LA).

ELF provides cosmetics for as little as £1.50 and their mineral makeup up to £3.50

They manage to keep their prices low by not using high prices advertising. Rather they use the Internet for branding and word of mouth.

To say the cosmetics are cheap doesn't mean they skimp on ingredients.
ELF are said to use the best ingredients for their cosmetics.

ELF has been named in many TV shows and magazines including, GMTV, This Morning, Hello Magazine, Marie Claire, Glamour, Grazia, The Times and many more.

ELF came to England on 27th November 2007 and they have not looked back. It is ran by brother and sister Neil Phillips and Jo Westlake, from ELF HQ in Swansea.

~About the Product / What the Product Says To Do~
Theses lipglosses are some of elf's new improved line. They hydrate the lips and provide long lasting colour. High pigment in a range of colours.

This lipgloss has been seen in Closer magazine.

They have colours ranging from nude browns and pinks all the way to dark and bright red.

Unfortunately ELF don't state any ingredients used.

~Application~
When you first receive this product make sure you twist the bottom of the tube 10-20 times until the product comes out of the sponge applicator, it also states this on the tube itself.

It is easy to apply just screw the bottom of the tube once/twice etc you will see some holes at the top of the sponge, just apply to the lips as usual.

Unfortunately the sponge applicator has a tendency to soak some of the product up of every application so you feel like your losing some gloss all the time, thus using more. But it does give a nice look to the lips without dragging.

This lipgloss isn't as runny as other lipglosses so I feel a lipliner isn't needed and I haven't needed one yet.

~Texture/Colour/Packaging~
The texture isn't as thick as MAC Lipglosses but there not far off, they wont slide off your lips and bleed onto your skin.

Each lipgloss has a different smell, more of a fruity minty smell that isn't overwhelming but just a nice fragrance.

The lipgloss itself comes in a clear tube with a clear screw bottom to get product out. In the middle of the tub it reads "elf Moisture Care Lip Colour". The product itself is small, if you use everyday it wont be long until you need to purchase another one as there is such a little amount.

Even on the packaging and on the actual product it doesn't state how big it is, which I think is misleading to customers.
As the tube is clear you can see how much product you have left.

I bought Bark, which is a light brown nude and Baby Lips, which is a pretty light pink.

~My opinion~
I bought this lipgloss when I was buying other elfs products. I bought two colours in Bark and Baby Lips. On the actual site the picture looks bigger and it looks like you are getting a decent amount of product for £1.50 each. Little did I know when I receive it there would be hardly nothing there. Everyday wear would last a few weeks or less and I would have to re purchase costing me more money.

When I applied theses glosses I was actually surprised how lovely they felt on my lips. Not sticky, a lovely fruity smell and nice colour. Like with any other lipgloss though your hair does get stuck to your lips.
When applied to the back of my hand as a swatch and tried to rub away my hand felt a little greasy.

They make the lips look glossy and full, although when drinking and eating this lip gloss will come off, thus applying and wasting more product that you have very little of in the first place.
Unlike other lipglosses this product doesn't dry my lips out, they actually feel smooth and hydrated.

I don't like the way their website makes their products look bigger than they actual are. You think you're getting great value for money and in reality your not. I am not saying this for all their products as some do last a long time but for their lipglosses especially.

~Price and Where to Buy~
You can purchase elf Moisture Care Lip Colour off http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk for £1.50 each.

~Would I Recommend/Purchase Again~
Yes and no.

Yes because their cheap and lovely colours.

No because you're better off buying a tube off another company for more money but at least it will last you more than a few weeks. Costing you less money in the long run.

Summary: Nice product but you're going to have to keep re-purchasing as its so small

Yeah it's true, the site is very deceiving.

I purchased the E.L.F products once before and liked them but I didn't think the colours were very clear on the website, I ordered a fairer foundation colour and when it arrived it was too dark for me. Great review x
