Of all the products I ordered from e.l.f a couple of months ago, I was least excited to try the Plumping Lip Glaze due to not being a massive wearer of lip gloss. However, once I opened it and tried it on I was pleasantly surprised. It left a slight tingling sensation and my lips looked plump and healthy rather than sticky and wet which I find most lip gloss''s tend to do. It has a double ended applicator. You use the clear end first and then the coloured end. Both have the lip plumping properties and I found that they work great separately and together. There are a variety of colour options so you are bound to find a colour you''ll like. The clear gloss is great for if you are at work, and the colour adds a bit of ''oomph''.
Up until a few months ago I was an E.L.F. virgin and had never heard of, let alone used any of their products. This was until I read several good reviews for their products on Dooyoo and therefore went straight onto their website to discover for myself how good their products were. As previous reviews will demonstrate, I love trying out different makeup products and have a number of different brands in my makeup bag. I am an avid wearer of lip gloss and tend to put a touch of it on every morning, therefore spotting the E.L.F plumping lip glaze for only £1.50 I popped a tube into my basket. The low price and fact that it promised to plump lips being the factors which sold it to me.
This lip gloss comes in a variety of pink and peach shades a list of which is as follows;
Oasis - A deep peachy/ pink
Ruby Kiss - A plum/ dark pink
Baby Doll - A very pale pink
Peach Passion - A classic peach
Fuchsia Fanatic - A bright pink
Wink Pink - A light pink
Being that I love a pale pink as I find that it suits most looks and is particularly good for a subtle day time look, I opted for the Baby Doll shade. This lip gloss came presented in a small 95mm long translucent plastic tube which has two applicators. On one side, is a clear gloss which is subtly shimmery in appearance and this can be used on its own or as a base with which to apply the colour. On the other side of the tube is the Baby Doll lip shade and this looks slightly brighter in colour than it did on the website. Nonetheless, the colour is a lovely soft matt pink. E.L.F state that this lip gloss provides the perfect full pout without the need for costly collagen injections. Not having wanted to have injections in the first place, I was still keen to give my lips a bit of oomph and was therefore keen to test out this statement.
Screwing open the clear glaze the wand slips out of the tube being white in colour and having a soft textured head with which to apply the glaze to my lips. The texture of this glaze is typical of a standard lip gloss although when it comes into contact with my lips the pout properties are definitely felt in a tingly sensation on my lips. This feeling is not unpleasant and merely shows in my opinion that the ingredients are working to slightly irritate my lips and therefore encourage them to look more pouty. On its own the clear glaze doesn't look like anything on my lips which is where the other pink wand comes in handy. The pink gloss has a slightly gloopy feel however it spreads easily onto my lips leaving a soft brush of pink. The colour is subtle and yet has a hint of gloss which is nice for an everyday look. Both glosses on their own provide a tingly sensation and combined this creates a very light stinging effect on my lips which does not hurt in any way.
After applying both lip finishes to my lips, the result is that my lips look slightly plumper and have a hint of pink gloss. I like the overall look and find that it compliments my usual makeup routine well. The lip gloss stays on my lips for a good couple of hours, however when I eat or drink I find that the gloss comes off pretty fast. The lip gloss is tasteless and does not smell of anything therefore it does not irritate my lips in any way other than the tingly feel it gives upon application. The only criticism I could give this lip gloss is the sticky feeling it gives my lips which upon the first gust of wind, encourages my hair to stick to my lips in a most irritating way.
This lip gloss can be purchased from the E.L.F. website for just £1.50. The website is particularly easy to navigate around in my opinion with each makeup product being segregated according to which part of the face it goes on, for example, face, lips, eyes etc. It is worth noting that upon ordering a few makeup products from E.L.F I paid £2.95 for postage and packaging, however this cost is free if you purchase more than £30 worth of makeup.
Overall this is an excellent lip gloss for the money that it cost me and for this I will be scoring it a full five stars. I would recommend this lip gloss for performance and overall look, and for the very cheap price you could easily justify buying a few colours if you cannot choose one.
I hope this review has been of some help and thanks for reading! x
In my mass order of products from E.L.F (eyes lips face), I picked up the Plumping Lip Glaze, because for such a small price of £1.50 I thought it was worth a go to see if it delivered the results I was wanting. I have dabbled with some more premium products in the past, such as Soap and Glory's famous Mother Pucker lip gloss, but if I could achieve decent lip plumping results for a minimal price, it is worth a shot.
As you can see, the packaging is quite basic, but this probably reflects the small price tag. The lip gloss contains 1.8 grams of product which is not a great deal, however it is a dual ended lip gloss providing two colours. Throughout the whole range of lip glosses, there is a coloured end which provides a tinted colour to make your lips look fabulous as well as tinted, whereas the clear gloss helps with plumping your pout. The colour I purchased mine in was called Baby Doll, which is a very baby pink colour. They provide a wide range of shades varying from pinks, mauves and peaches all the way up to darker browns. All of the shades are fairly natural and there are not many adventurous colours, however this is more suited for me anyway, but if you are after fiery reds or crazy lip colours, this is not for you!
The first thing I noticed when receiving the lip gloss is it's scent. It has a mint scent, as do most lip plumpers, but this helps it to feel nicer on your lips, as well as tasting pretty good when applied! To use the product, they recommend that you apply the lip colour first, and then add over the clear shade to help plump out your lips. The applicator brush is not fantastic, and is quite small, but never the less, it still applied on nicely to the lips. You do not get much in this lip gloss, and when running out it can be difficult to get much product on to your applicator, however for £1.50 you can not complain too much.
Once applied, the colour looked lovely, however it was quite sheer, therefore it does not provide much pigmentation to show full colour on your lips, and focuses more so on the plumping side. As soon as the clear gloss is applied, you can instantly feel your lips starting to tingle, and this is a sign that the product is working well. I did noticed that my lips looked a bit plumper, however it was not miraculous, and there are much better lip plumping products on the market anyway. But I was happy with the results considering the price I paid.
However, one thing I noticed was that this lip gloss can get really quite sticky and this was very off putting and can be a nightmare to have to keep reapplying. My hair was constantly sticking to it when I wore it outside, and it really lets such a good product down considerably. It starts to get sticky within about ten minutes, and then it just looks a little messy on your lips unless it is retouched.
Another problem that you face is that as you apply the clear gloss after, you can end up getting the coloured lip gloss on the opposite applicator brush. Besides this, the product was fine but its stickiness really let it down for me, and for this reason I will be knocking off two stars. Thanks for reading.
The first time I ever bought from Elf, I bought about 5 things and this was one of them. I had no idea if Elf was actually amazing, if it really did live up to the hype. So I had to test it out.
Elf is a UK makeup brand which sell their makeup on their website, eyeslipsface.co.uk. Their makeup products are very cheap, most of them costing around £1.50. Obviously, some items may cost more if they are more valuable (e.g - a standard lipstick may cost £1.50 but a set of 10 makeup brushes could cost £10) Shipping costs £2.95 for Standard UK Delivery and £6.95 for Next Day UK Delivery. Of course, for people living in America, you can use the American Elf website, eyeslipsface.com.
I bought my Plumping Lip Glaze in the colour Baby Doll. It only cost £1.50 which really pleased me. I wasn't sure which side to apply first - the colour or the plumper. So I applied the plumper first and then the colour, because I realised if I had put the colour on first then put the plumper over it, it would stain my plumper sponge tipped applicator which I really didn't want to happen. The plumper tastes really nice, it was minty. It did make my lips tingle a bit but I couldn't see any difference when I looked in the mirror. I applied the colour and thought it looked quite nice - I really liked that colour.
I wore it for the rest of the day but I had to keep reapplying it every 15-30 minutes, because it rubbed off really really easily. There isn't much product in there and I didn't want to have to waste it, so I only reapplied it once then just stopped.
I would recommend this product to a friend, though I'm not going to buy any more of them because there's not much in there and I don't want to have to keep reapplying it, otherwise I'd be finishing it all in one day.
E.L.F (Eyes lips Face) http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk/ being one of my most favourite online make up site at the moment, it offers great products at the price of £1.50's and up to £5 for brushes that are ultra soft.
This brand has been round since 2004 (American) launched in NYC.
Although in comparison the UK site sells less than the US site but the products of what we have is great and definitely worth the visit!
I have a several favourite E.L.F products and one of my most recommended
ones is this Lip pumper. It really does make your lips feel poaw! Im currently using the Floral coral at the moment and I absolutely, can not express more.. love it lots and lots and its only £1.50 what more can I ask for?
They offer 8 diff colours all at £1.50 Oasis Mint, Mauve Berry, Fire Coral, Champagne, Mocha Ice, Plum Pout, Ruby Kiss, Baby Doll.......
Firstly you use the clear pumpy side, it has this mint tingly feel to it that makes your lips pout and feel out there, and then you add the colour side! The colour is so shimmery and it just adds the extra bling bling touch to your lippy.. centainly all ready to party! It definitely says what it does and gives you the instant pump of enlargement ..leaving you feeling like Angelina Jolie.
I use this on normal occasion because its so natural looking-like your not trying too hard..which is perfect! It doesn't feel too greasy either which is well worth the £1.50 when other products such as pout or no.7 does.
Downfall, of course is the fact E.L.F is possibly not well known to you so that the packaging doesn't look too good?or it can possibly look like a sample piece?but do bare in mind this is very very good for £1.50 it doesn't look cheap when your wearing it -it could even look soo much more effective and stunning then your Maybelline!
I defiantly recommend you all to try out this!and immediately check out this SITE!!!
This plumping lip glaze is just as good as all of the expensive versions and does the job. The clear end tingles your lips and the other adds your chosen colour. I definitely recommend this product and website to any one looking fore xcellent value for money. Everything on the site is of as good quality: Particularly the make up brushes.Excellent website and fast delivery- even with the standard delivery option.
E.L.F (eyes, lips, face) is an American company that have started trading in the UK via their website, www.eyeslipsface.co.uk. Everything they sell is extremely cheap - most things cost £1.50, including this particular lip gloss. They claim that their ability to sell their products so cheap is down to reducing packaging and relying on word-of-mouth to gain customers to the site, rather than advertising.
This lip gloss has 2 ends - one with colour, the other the clear 'plumping' ingredient. There isn't much product in the tubes, and having the apply both ends is a bit of a faff. I don't know why they wouldn't mix both ends together. When you apply the plumping glaze over the colour, it tends to wipe some of the colour away.
The formula is quite sticky but the colour does last about as well as similarly priced lip glosses. The plumper does make my lips tingle, but doesn't appear to really do anything. The flavour is the standard minty affair. There are 8 colours on the website to choose from.
This isn't a bad product, but it's not the first one I'd reach for. I'd rather pay a couple pounds more and get a better quality product.
Now i dont have tiny lips but neither am i blessed with Angelina Jolie's pout. So i decided to give this ago. I have tried one lip plumper before to great effect (Too faced lip injection) but it hurt. For £1.50 i thought id give E.L.F a try!
What ELF say:
They say that we can forget collagen injections and painfully stinging glosses. Natural ingredients are used to add a natural plumping effect.
What you get:
2 lip glosses. The clear side has the plumping natural ingredients. You also get a coloured gloss. I ordered fire coral, a beautiful light pink coral shade. The cost is £1.50.
What i thought:
When you put the clear side onto your lips you are overwhelmed by the minty taste. As far as i can tell (and im not a chemist) the only thing providing the tingle is the mint. For me this did not at all plump my lips. The gloss has a sponge tip applicator and for me a prefer a brush. This is particularly true when it comes to putting the colour side on. Because of the applicator i kind of took some of the colour off whilst sweeping the wand over my lips. Getting over that fact the colour was lovely. Again no plumping effect was felt. I also found the colour didnt really last very long. The gloss itself is not sticky so maybe it needs just a slightly thicker consistency to stay put for a while. When i wear this i feel like i have to constantly reapply.
Not one of E.L.F's worst products but not great either
I got the pack of 5 plumping lip glaze's from a friend for Christmas - they retail at around £8 making each lip gloss £1.60. This costs more than if you were to buy them individually at £1.50 each, but you do get a free makeup bag. However, I do not use this bag as it is too filmsy and not very cute! The colours in the set are:
This is a nice selection of colours - one end of the gloss is the plumper which is pretty much clear, it really tingles when applied - so feels like its working - even if it isn't! Baby doll is my favourite as it is a pale peachy coral and they all have a great, refreshing menthol scent! There are many colours to choose from so I am sure you could find one to your taste :)
The writing does wear off the tube after a while which shows the packaging isn't that high quality, but the pigmentation of the glosses is quite good - nothing comparable to MAC or NARS but definately as good as the L'Oreal glam shine's!
I picked this up at a local Target one day on a shopping trip. Since I was curious about lip plumpers and hey, it was only a dollar. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by this product.
I got it in the colour "Plum Pout". I have rather dark lips naturally, but this colour was not dark at all, actually rather natural looking. It does tingle quite a bit at first, and the taste is a little strong, but not too awful. It did seem to make my lips appear a bit fuller, and I swear this gloss stays on forever. The only thing I disliked about this product was it's stickiness. Hair sticks to it, dust sticks to it etc. But again, it's only a dollar!
Pros: Decent colour selection. Minty smell. Seemed to plump my lips. Stays on forever, even through drinks and cigarettes.
Cons: Very very sticky. Doesn't seem to ever lose it's sticky feeling. Somewhat of a strong taste, may make your tongue tingle too.
After my recent review about E.L.F I thought it might be time to review some of the actual products. E.L.F Plumping Lip Glaze is one of the items I purchased and claims to "use natural ingredients to stimulate your senses to a refreshed full perfect pout" without stinging.
I've tried a couple of the plumping lipglosses and really don't like the stinging sensation you get after you've applied them. Usually I just remove them because it's annoying so a plumping lipgloss that doesn't sting seemed like an excellent idea. The item was of course a measly £1.50 and I chose the Champagne colour which is very similar to the picture above. There are 8 colours to choose from so one to suit everyone.
The product is a dual ended gloss. On one end you have a clear gloss and on the other end the coloured gloss. In the centre is a circular piece of plastic that has a foam brush either side. You can either use the clear gloss on it's own or as a base for the coloured gloss. I chose to use it as a base.
Unusually this lipgloss is mint flavoured so once you've applied it you can smell minty freshness and taste mint if you lick your lips. I think the mint may be what produces a plumping effect as it encourages bloodflow to the area it's applied to.
So what's it like? Easy to use. You just unscrew whichever gloss you want to use and reveal your foam applicator. Apply like normal lipgloss and off you go. The clear gloss provides a good base for the coloured gloss and helps it stay put. It's not too thin in texture so it stays on for a while and doesn't make your lips look too glossy, at 35 I wouldn't want to be seen wearing excessively shiny lipgloss as it would make me feel I was trying too hard but that may just be me!
The mint makes your lips tingle but it's not the stinging, burning sensation of chemical plumping lipgloss. I would say this plumps a bit, I've never found one that makes a dramatic difference to be honest but it does seem to make my lips look a bit fuller.
The consistency of these glosses help them stay on, they are slightly sticky, and used together this keeps them on for a while longer even if you drink or lick your lips like I do. Of course you will need to reapply regularly if you wanted to wear them all day but again I've never found a lipgloss that stays on long however this did out-perform all the others I've tried and stayed on the longest.
So overall it cost me a poxy £1.50, smells and tastes nice, can be used as 2 separate glosses or together, stays on better than most gloss and makes lips look a bit fuller. An excellent bargain!
Eyeslipsface.co.uk is the sister site to american eyeslipsface.com. It is an online shopping site for makeup and cosmetics, and is sometimes referred to as ELF (eyes lips face). Its main claim / attraction is that (almost) everything is £1.50! In america it is cheaper still at $1 per item!
The ELF company has only been shipping to the UK since November 2007, but is already very popular.
~What the website says about Plumping Lip Glaze~
Forget costly Collagen injections, or those painfully stinging glosses, stimulate your senses to a refreshed full perfect pout with e.l.f. Plumping Lip Glaze! e.l.f. proudly presents a revolutionary lip plumper, infusing Natural ingredients that awaken your senses for fresh, volume enhanced, and moisturized lips. This dual sided Plumping Lip Glaze has a tinted color for a subtle plump or a clear gloss that power plumps your lips, use together and instantly feel the lip enlarging effects!
I love the design of this product as it has 2 tubes in one - a colour and a clear gloss. It is the clear gloss that does the plumping! It is applied with a thing that looks like a furry ear bud [haha excuse my not knowing what it is called!].
The glosses all smell of mint and there are eight different colours available. I bought Plum Pout and Mocha Ice. These two seem exactly the same to me! The coloured gloss is not overpoweringly pigmented, but has a nice tint to it. The clear gloss is somewhat of a misnoma because it is actally a white shimmery glaze. It is not white on your lips but it has a shimmer to it and is not clear. I sometimes wear this on its own. It is really minty and tingles your lips abit, I am doubtful as to whether it actually plumps your lips, but it seems to me like it enhances them.
The glosses last for a few hours, but not as long as Lancome or FCUK ones do. It is not very sticky or gloopy though. There is quite a small amount of gloss in the tube, so
I am looking forward to buying different colours in the future, at the minute I have 5 so I have one in the car, one in my makeup train, one in my bag etc etc!
Forget costly Collagen injections, or those painfully stinging glosses, stimulate your senses to a refreshed full perfect pout with e / l / f / Plumping Lip Glaze!
