***Why I want the product*** If there is one thing I do not like about having combination to oily skin is makeup does not tend to last long on my skin until the shine starts to come through and makeup starts to slide off. I have heard for a while about these setting sprays for makeup from different high and medium end brands but they cost around £15/£20 push mark that I did not wish to pay so I never bothered with them. Looking through the ELF website one day I came across a product in their Studio line called Makeup Mist and Set. With products like this I always worry it is going to be like spraying hairspray on your face or something that feels hard/heavy or sticky/tacky as it has to keep your makeup in place all day. ***About the product*** ELF Makeup Mist and Set is described to keep your makeup in place all day, with a radiance boosting invisible hold. The light mist helps to moisturise and sooth the skin with ingredients such as Aloe Vera, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E. The liquid is lightweight and feels comfortable on the skin, it is alcohol free so good for those with sensitive skin. It helps to improve makeup wearability. Spray on after makeup application to set makeup in place or during the day for a quick touch up to refresh. ***Packaging*** The packaging is simple yet stylish looking at the same time. The Studio line packaging reminds me of a higher make up brand and the way they package their items. Mist and Spray comes wrapped in plastic cellophane that is wrapped in a matte thin black cardboard box with a cut out to the right hand side where you can see the product. The front side tells you what the product is while the back tells you about the product in more detail and how to use. The product itself comes packaged in an almost see through black sturdy plastic bottle that holds 60ml of product. I say almost see through because it's black, which makes it difficult but you can see how much product you have left, the liquid is clear. The clear pop off top sits on top of the spray. ***Applying the product, and how it feels*** The directions say to spray Mist and Spray onto your face (eyes closed) when you have applied all your makeup to set it in place. Spraying approximately 12-16 inches away from my face (which is about arm's length) as stated by ELF. I first did one light spray to see how much product came out and if it sprayed nicely or just a big blob all over my face. Before I sprayed I had a horror vision of the product coming out and setting like hairspray or the liquid running all down my face taking my makeup with it. Yet I am very happy to report the first spray was like a fine mist of water that sprayed evenly and distributed the product over my face instead of just one place but you do need more than one spray to cover the whole face evenly. Even after spraying three times, which is the recommended time the product feels like light droplets of water on your face and when I looked into the mirror after I had a moment where I said "Oh no, what have I done?" because my face obviously looked wet and I first thought when the droplets dry I will be left with little circles where they droplets had fallen and dried instead of blending in undetected. As soon as the liquid touched my face, it felt cool and soothing with no scent detected at all. The liquid dries dewy after around 30 seconds with no droplet detection. It did not feel like anything was sprayed on my face. My face did not feel like hairspray had been sprayed to keep my makeup in place all day, I could move my face with ease all day and there was no tacky feeling to my face either. I have also used it to spray onto makeup brushes and sponges to dampen them and give them more of a hold. I have used this product over liquid and cream foundations as well as mineral foundations, with mineral foundations Mist and Set helps to take away the power look so my makeup looks more flawless. ELF Mist and Set does not set your makeup or face matte as some would like, Mist and Set leaves a slight dewy finish that I find it leaves your skin healthy looking instead of so matte your face looks flat. Mist and Set did not leave my face too dewy that I looked shiny. Even though Mist and Set is a makeup setting spray I have also applied it when I wear no makeup at all. On my not so good skin days when my skin feels too sensitive, red and seems to be reacting to everything. Because of the cooling Aloe Vera, Green Tea, Cucumber and added Vitamins I find spraying Mist and Set helps with calming the redness and puts a protective barrier on my skin from outside elements. Because I do have sensitive skin Mist and Set does not contain alcohol so it does not irritate my skin in any way or make it feel tight, in fact my skin feels very comfortable with this on. I have carried the bottle around with me and it does not leak and because it is plastic there are no worries of breaking the bottle. ***How did it stand through the day?*** To say the product is cheap and you do not get as much as other brands I am actually very impressed with this product. To be honest with it being a ELF product I did not think it would be as good as it is but I was wrong. I can apply my makeup at 7am, apply Mist and Set after, half way through the day some shine will start to come through but my makeup will be in place but I might have to blot slightly. If I find my skin is dehydrated and makeup does not seem to 'sit' right through the day I can spray Mist and Set again to freshen my makeup for that just applied makeup look and it works a treat. It also helps to bring back some moisture back into my skin, which I love and love because it is a small bottle I can carry it around with me. ***Price and availability*** Mist and Set can be purchased from eyeslipsface.co.uk for £3.75 for 60ml of product. ***What I think about it/do I like it?*** I find the bottle is a great travel size or to keep in your handbag when you know you are going to be out all day or night for a quick touch up or freshen your face and or makeup. I have used mine almost every day for four months with around two to three sprays a time and I am just coming to the end of my bottle, thankfully I like the product that much I have two standby products. I have experienced no breakouts while using Mist and Set. My makeup stays put longer than when I do not apply it at all. ***Would I purchase again?*** I have, I have used up two bottles and have bottles in stock, because the product it cheaper than other brands of setting sprays you can afford to keep some on standby.
Recently, I made a big order on the Eyes, Lips, Face website. Overall, I spent just over £30 (as this meant I would be able to get free delivery) A few of my purchases were complete impulse buys, and this was one of them. Sometimes, when I'm out and about, I find my make-up starts to slip a little, or my eyeshadow colours crease and smudge. This seemed like the answer to my prayers and at around £3.00 I added it to my cart. The bottle is black, but see through so you can see how much liquid is in the bottle. The liquid is clear and thereis a spray pump on the bottle, so when the nozzle is pushed down it gives out a fine mist of the product. There is also a clear cap which clicks on over the top of the nozzle so it can be carried around without leaks. The bottle is small and rectangular and looks very sleek and professional. I really like the design of ELFs products, even though they are so cheap, they look very professional. First of all I want to say I will definitely be buying this again. The way you use this is you apply your make-up as normal and then you give the bottle a good shake before using. I hold the bottle around 15cm away from my face and spray the mist all over. I usually use two sprays to cover my whole face. Now when you first use this, it will make you panic. It makes your face feel very wet and you worry that you have ruined your make-up. But after 30 seconds, it dries completely. The spray has a lovely fresh cucumber scent that I really like. This product works very well and keeps my make-up in place, even during a night out on the town. It makes all my make-up look more vibrant and makes it last even longer. I also feel like it hydrates my skin too, and this is something that makes me know I will be re-buying it. I have been very impressed with all my products from ELF especially this one.
I am a huge fan of ELF cosmetics - well I like most of their products anyway, some are a little cheap and tacky but one of my favourite ever ELF products is their make-up setting spray. Before I discovered this I was using fix plus by MAC which is nearly double the price of this! A 60ml bottle of the ELF version retails at £3.75 while the MAC version retails at £7.50 which is quite a big saving and considering that I use it on a daily basis and need to re-purchase it quite often, the saving comes in handy. Despite the price difference, the quality is exactly the same. This is quite a basic item so I wasn't expecting the difference to be huge and it isn't - it does the same job and does it just as well. The make-up setting spray is just like water and it comes in a small, black plastic bottle which has the product information written on it in white writing. The packaging is basic, but not cheap or ugly looking. The bottle has a spray mechanism which releases a fine mist of the spray when it is pressed down. As the bottle is quite small it is a handy size to take with me to a friend's house if we're getting ready for a night out. I do wish that there was a larger version available as well though because a small bottle only lasts me for a couple of months and it's annoying having to regularly re-order because of the ELF delivery charge. The setting spray is alchohol free and contains aloe, green tea, cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E. Using the mist couldn't be easier - I hold it arms length away from my face and then spray it over my face. I find two sprays is enough for foundation but if I am wearing eye make-up I usually use three sprays. It is quite cold and feels wet when I first apply it and it doesn't have that refreshing kind of effect that fix plus has, but within 30 seconds or so it is completely dry. The spray does not leave any shine, residue or stickiness on my skin, nor does it feel oily/greasy and once applied it is not noticeable on my skin. It does not feel heavy or like a layer on my skin either. When I initially spray it onto my face it does have a mild cucumber scent which smells quite nice and not at all artificial but the fragrance soon fades. The spray doesn't alter the look of my make-up at all and it keeps it in place and looking like it's been freshly applied all day - around the eight hour mark. It stops my eye shadow from creasing and fading and it stops my eyeliner fading and going bitty and gathering in the corner of my eyes. It also prevents my foundation & concealer from going patchy and looking faded. It keeps my make-up looking great and it is gentle on my skin too - not at all drying and it doesn't irritate my skin. ELF claim that it's soothing and moisturising which I haven't noticed but it's certianly not at all harsh on my skin. I highly recommend it and give it five out of five stars.
~~~~~~~~~ Impulse buy ~~~~~~~~~ I bought this makeup mist from online cosmetics retailer E.L.F. on a whim really - I had read some good reviews so decided to try it out for myself. For those of you who aren't familiar with the E.L.F. cosmetics company, it is an an online-only cosmetics brand that was founded in the US and is now available here in the UK. The company has a few different ranges of cosmetics, with the main range costing a mere £1.50 per item - although I have noticed recently that the prices are starting to creep up, with more and more of the items that used to be £1.50 now costing £2.50. A 60ml bottle of this makeup mist costs £3.75 as it is from the company's more expensive Studio range. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Keep your face on ~~~~~~~~~~~~ According to the E.L.F. website, this product promises to "keep your makeup in place all day with a radiance boosting invisible hold" and is designed to stop makeup from fading. It is also supposed to moisturise and soothe the skin, and contains aloe vera, green tea, cucumber, and vitamins A, C and E. Pleasant to use This product looks nice, and more expensive than it actually is. It comes in a small black bottle, with some simple writing, and has quite a classic look to it. It has a small aerosol-style pump at the top. To apply this, you simply give it a squirt or two around a foot away from your face after you've applied your makeup. This helps to set your makeup in place. You can let it dry on its own and then touch up throughout the day as needed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A bit disappointing... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ So this really is very easy to use - just make sure you close your eyes before spraying! It feels really nice and cool on the face, and is quite refreshing. It is a nice wake-up call early in the morning! However I was disappointing that to my nostrils at least, this had no fragrance at all that I could detect. Given the list of ingredients I thought this would have some scent but I certainly can't smell anything. Also I am not completely convinced that this really makes any difference to my makeup or helps prolong its visibility. I genuinely don't think I could tell the difference a few hours later whether or not I was wearing this! I do think it is a bit of a gimmicky product as I don't think it makes any real difference. ~~~~~~~~~~ In summary ... ~~~~~~~~~~ Overall I am not really convinced by this product. It is pleasant enough to use but I don't think it makes any real difference to how my makeup looks over the course of the day. I am quite happy to use this until the bottle is finished, as it is a nice refreshing spritz in the mornings, but I very much doubt I would buy this again.
I am a huge fan of the ELF (eyes, lips, face) brand which is American but available to other countries through their website. They sell extraordinary make up at rock bottom prices and best of all the actually work! During one of their many 50% sales last year I picked up this make up mist and set for £1.75 instead of the regular £3.50 price tag for 60ml which is not bad value at all. This setting spray is essentially spray filled with vitamins and minerals to 'set' your make up making it look perfect for longer but the real test was did it work? The bottle came within a box as do most of the Studio products but I have since binned this as the bottle comes with a transparent cap that clips into place to keep the spray mechanism clean. The bottle is pure black however there is some transparence to it as you can see the liquid inside showing you how much remains. The bottle is rather light for what it is so you could carry it around with you without too much strain. To use this spray you simply hold it 12-16 inches from your face, and spray (remembering to close your eyes!). When this is applied to start with it feels very cool and refreshing, it doesn't really have much of a scent, perhaps a slight scent of cucumber but nothing overpowering and nothing that lingers either. It does feel a little wet, almost like little beads of sweat which isn't nice but it shortly dries in and doesn't really feel like anything on my face at all. I find that just 1 or 2 sprays is more than enough to cover my face. Over the course of the day I haven't found that my make up has lasted any longer, it still seems to end up as that creased, slipping off my face look by mid afternoon. A couple of the times I've used it I've found that by around lunch time there is a peeling sort of thing happening, it looks almost like sunburn peeling which isn't at all attractive but it has only happened a few times so perhaps I applied to much. It does feel nice on my face but I do wonder if this is just a gimmick, other people have rave reviews about this product but I just can't see the benefit of it. It doesn't make my make up last longer or prevent it from creasing. The bottle does however seem to be lasting well. I have used it quite a lot although I do tend to only apply it now on hotter days to give my face cooling relief as it does feel lovely but for the claims the product makes it doesn't do as it says and so for that I can only give it 3 stars.
I really got into make-up about a year ago, and started reading a lot of beauty blogs where I came across a number of different settings sprays from MAC Fix + to ELF Makeup Mist & Set. I didn't rush out to buy one, although I did consider getting the MAC Fix +. However, when I saw the 40% off sale going on at ELF a few months ago, I decided to take the plunge and buy this. What is a setting spray and how do you use it? A setting spray is basically a liquid containing ingredients that are good for your skin (vitamins, minerals, etc) and it is meant to give your skin a dewy appearance and make your make-up last longer and prevent it from fading and creasing as well as looking cakey or powdery. You can also use a setting spray to apply mineral eyeshadows or to apply eyeshadows wet-just spray some onto your brush and apply the eyeshadow like you normally do. To use, close your eyes, hold the bottle 12-16 inches from your face and spray. If I don't have a lot of make-up on I just spray once, but if I'm going out and have a full face of make-up on, I tend to spray twice. What ELF says Keep your makeup in place all day with a radiance boosting invisible hold. The invigorating mist moisturizes and soothes the skin with key ingredients Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E. The lightweight, comfortable and alcohol free formula improves makeup wearability and prevents color from running or fading. Spray on after makeup application to set makeup in place or during the day for a quick touchup to refresh. After you have applied your makeup spray a light mist 12-16 inches from your face with eyes closed to set your makeup in place or use for a quick touchup throughout the day to refresh your makeup. Let it dry naturally or blot with a tissue to help speed dry. Packaging The spray bottle came in a cardboard box which I have now thrown away as I don't like to keep excess packaging around. The spray bottle is quite sleek-looking-it is made of black clear plastic which allows you to see how much product you have left. The nozzle is covered which a clear plastic lid which is great as this means that you can carry it around without worrying about spillages. I have taken it out of town on a plane and am happy to report that there were no problems. How did it perform? To be honest, I was in two minds about buying this product as I had read reviews where people said that the spray made their make-up run down their faces. There were quite a few positive reviews too though, so I did buy this product eventually but was quite apprehensive when I first used it. I was going out at night and after applying my make-up, I sprayed it on according to the directions and then let it air dry. It felt quite refreshing when I applied it, and it dried within a couple of minutes and I couldn't feel it on my skin. I am happy to report that no make-up ran down my face. The spray did give my skin a dewy appearance and helped my foundation and face powder blend into my skin completely. A few hours later when I returned home, my make-up had not faded at all-my lip colour was still bright, my eyeshadow had not creased, my eye liner had not smudged and my foundation, face powder and blush had not faded away. My make-up looked fresh and like it had just been applied! I was very impressed with the setting spray and have used it quite a few times after that and had no problems with it at all. I think the reason why it has worked so well for me is because I have followed the directions. I think it wouldn't really be as effective if you sprayed it on further away from your face, and I think that if you spray it on too close to your face, it might make your make-up run. I have probably sprayed this on 20-30 times and only used about 5-10 ml so I do think the 60 ml bottle will last me for quite some time. I wouldn't say it moisturises my skin, but it doesn't dry it out either. It has not irritated my sensitive skin at all either. Price and Availability ELF products can only be bought online at www.eyeslipsface.co.uk. This 60 ml bottle costs only £3.50! I think this is a bargain compared to the MAC Fix + spray which costs £12.50 for a 100ml bottle. I paid even less since I got it at a discount. ELF often has promotions running, so you should be able to buy it for less. Overall I definitely recommend this product-it contains ingredients that are good for your skin, helps your make-up last longer, prevents it from fading and creasing, and gives your make-up a flawless finish. The packaging is nice and makes the product look expensive, it is easy and quick to use and also very reasonably priced. I can't think of one bad thing about this product! This review may appear on other sites under the same username.
If you haven't heard of E.L.F before it is a budget make up brand where most of the products are only £1.50. Cheap I know! They have a studio range which I personally find is better quality where all of the products are £3.50. E.L.F was having a 50% off sale so I decided to purchase this product from the studio range so the price was only £1.75! You get 60ml of product in the bottle. The packaging is really simple and basic. The product comes in a black plastic container with a spray nozzle, along with a cap. The make up mist and spray contains aloe, green tea and vitamins A,C & E. That is great because it helps soothe the skin and keep it looking young and fresh. It also doesn't contain any alcohol so it won't irritate your skin. After applying your make up hold the spray about 12 inches away from your face and lightly mist it all over your face. Please make sure you have closed your eyes as if this goes into your eyes it WILL HURT TRUST ME! I would recommend putting on your mascara after you have sprayed this spray as it makes my mascara run. The product has a awful smell. It smells cheap and nasty but it quickly fades after about 10 seconds. This isn't a major problem for me as the smell goes away pretty quickly. You should let this product air dry for about 10-15 seconds. I find that this spray works really well in making my make up look dewy. I don't like the powdery cakey feel of thick make up but this spray makes it feel really lightweight which is great. When my foundation starts to settle into my dry patches I spray this and my face looks flawless again. I love it! My face make up really does last longer when using this product. It doesn't fade or slip around as easily and it makes your face look great throughout the day. I would say I get a good few hours more wear out of my foundation from using this product. I don't really know if it has made much of a difference on my eye make up though. I still experience the same amount of smudging from my eye-liner using or not using this product. I don't think it works well on eye make-up. I would definitely recommend this product to girls on a budget who want a excellent setting spray.
One of my favourite cosmetics companies is E.L.F., which stands for Eyes, Lips, Face. They are an online retailer and their UK web store can be reached at this address http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk. They have several different ranges of make-up, including their Basic, Mineral, and Studio lines. I love wearing make-up and have great fun experimenting with colours and different looks. It's nice to have lots of products to play around with but there are always a few items that become must-haves and form the basis of most of my 'faces'. I think E.L.F. is a great way to try out different products at a low cost, and I'm working my way through their items to see which ones I get on with. This Make-up Mist & Set is part of the Studio range which aims to offer professional make-up artist quality products, and costs just a fraction of the competitors prices with an RRP of £3.50. It comes in a 60ml bottle which is small enough to pack into an overnight bag, and still contains enough to last for ages. I'm just over half-way through mine and that's lasted me for 8 months already. Product description: "Keep your makeup in place all day with a radiance boosting invisible hold. The invigorating mist moisturizes and soothes the skin with key ingredients Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E. The lightweight, comfortable and alcohol free formula improves makeup wearability and prevents colour from running or fading. Spray on after makeup application to set makeup in place or during the day for a quick touch up to refresh." The bottle is made of black plastic and has a nice sleek look to it. There is a removable lid and this fits over the pump spray to keep it secure when not in use. The plastic is somewhat translucent and you can see the level of the remaining liquid through the bottle which is always useful. Directions for use: After you have applied your makeup spray a light mist 12-16 inches from your face with eyes closed to set your makeup in place or use for a quick touch up throughout the day to refresh your makeup. Let it dry naturally or blot with a tissue to help speed dry. I tend to only wear light, natural make-up during a normal day, and then really get creative and have some fun with heavy make-up on special occasions or for nights out. If I'm going to a big event and I've put a lot of time and effort into perfecting my make-up then I want it to stay looking perfect for the whole time I'm there. I always use my Mist & Set spray to finish my look before going out for the evening. I tend to use between 3-5 sprays over my face depending on how much make-up I've put on and how accurate my application of the spray is! I keep it held at a reasonable distance from my face so that the liquid has enough room to disperse into a light mist and it doesn't end up soaking my skin. The spray has no colour as far as I can tell, but it does have a bit of an unpleasant smell. I was expecting a nice, clean, refreshing scent thanks to the inclusion of natural ingredients such as cucumber, green tea and aloe vera, but instead this just smells damp and mouldy to me. Thankfully the scent is only noticeable for a few moments after the spray is initially applied and cannot be detected after the liquid has dried. It usually takes up to a couple of minutes for the Mist & Set spray to dry fully, and I always leave it to air dry naturally to avoid the risk of smudging my make-up before it's had time to set properly. I also always keep my eyes closed for the full 2-3 minutes drying time, as I have found from experience that not allowing the drying time can lead to mascara marks and eye shadow creasing. I don't really like to have to touch up my make-up endlessly through the night as I'd rather be getting on with having a fun time, and prefer hard working products that will do the job and last me through a night without requiring maintenance. This product is excellent for keeping eye make-up set firmly in place, and even after a hard night's dancing and partying my eye make-up will always look spotless by the time I get home - or even the next morning if I'm being a lazy slob and don't bother to take it off before bed time! It doesn't work very well at all on lip make-up, and when I'm out having a few drinks my lipstick will still transfer onto the glass or just generally wear away through the evening unless I re-apply to top up the colour. It does a good job of keeping my foundation looking fresh, especially if I use it again when I'm out for a quick refresher, as this keeps my skin looking dewy and clear. I have a combination / oily type complexion so I inevitably end up with some shine breaking through on my problem areas of nose, forehead and chin, but a quick re-touch leaves things looking good again in no time, and it works wonders to stop my foundation from melting off my face when I'm in a hot, sweaty club. E.L.F.'s Studio range has some fantastic items and this is a real bargain that can help extend the longevity of your make-up - I think it's the perfect finishing touch before a night out and can thoroughly recommend it if you like to wear heavy eye make-up and want to avoid ending up with smudgy panda eyes. E.L.F. are against animal testing - please keep your beauty cruelty free! Ingredients: Water , AMP-Acrylates/Allyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Aloe Leaf Juice, Green Tea Extract, Cucumber Fruit Extract, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vc), Tocophryl Acetate (Ve) Retinyl Acytate (Va), Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben.
I recently discovered elf cosmetics and ended up buying a lot of new products for a very affordable price. One of the products that I purchased in this haul was the elf makeup mist and set which is a product from elf's studio line. WHAT IS THE STUDIO LINE? Although all of elf's products are very affordable with many of them costing only £2 or even less they do charge a bit extra for products from their studio line as they are considered to be of a higher quality. However they are still, in my eyes, really cheap considering how much you can pay for some products on the high street. The majority of items in the studio range costs between £3 and £5. Elf claim that the studio line is designed to create that more professional look and therefore the items from this line have different packaging and are shown on a different area of the website to the normal products. PACKAGING When this product arrived it was encased in its own little box to protect it from damage. If you have read my elf review you would have read about how surprised I was that elf delivered products in packaging despite how cheap they were. The bottle itself is made of black, see through plastic. Personally I prefer see through bottles when it comes to makeup as you know exactly how much you have got left so thumbs up to elf! As the bottle is see through you will notice that the product looks just like water, this made me a bit concerned as I was going to have to apply it to a full face of makeup, more on that later. The only information on the bottle is what the product is and what is in the product itself; aloe, green tea, cucumber, vitamins A, C and E. The 60ml bottle comes with a plastic lid to cover the nozzle which fits securely in order to prevent any spillages. MY EXPERIENCE After applying all of my makeup I was really worried about spraying the wet stuff onto my face as I was worried about my makeup running and looking quite frankly like a clown. But I did and the results were surprising and fantastic. To set your makeup all you have to do is close your eyes, hold the product about 12-16 inches away from your face and spray, easy enough. In order to get the full effect from this product I try and spray my face in 3 sections; my eyes and forehead and then each of my cheeks as this is wear I apply most of my makeup. I was really surprised at how light this mist actually is once it has been sprayed. The lightness means that once it is sprayed you can feel a slightly cold sensation and then it quickly disappears. Once you open your eyes and look in the mirror again you will see that it doesn't look like there is any extra product on your face whatsoever. Elf says that you can dab your face dry to remove excess product but I haven't ever had to do this. There is also no chemical smell in this product. I know some people spray hair spray on their face to allow their makeup to set so I just assumed that this product would have similar qualities but it just smells refreshing. The refreshing scent of the aloe and cucumber comes through but even then that is only when you initially spray the product. Once it is on your face it is completely unnoticeable. Being so unnoticeable in scent and appearance I was a bit dubious as to whether or not this product would actually work. For the ultimate test I tried this product out in the morning when I knew I was going to be going out after work, bearing in mind I knew I wouldn't be home until about 11 o clock in this evening I thought this would be a great way to find out what this product had to offer. The results were amazing, my makeup still looked great. It didn't look as if it had just been freshly applied but it was still there and I would have felt comfortable going out and about with how I looked. My foundation still looked fresh, as did my eye makeup. The only thing that had faded and only slightly was my blusher. I have found this product does not work on lip sticks but with every day actions such as talking, eating and drinking I don't think many products would work to sustain lip colour perfectly. Another benefit to this product is that it did not have any bad effects on my skin. I have sensitive skin and some products do make me break out but I had no problems with this product. PRICE AND AVAILABILITY This product is only available through the elf website at www.eyeslipsface.co.uk and is priced at £3.50 which is an absolute bargain. CONCLUSION I love this product and it was one of my favourites from my elf haul. I highly recommend anyone to try it! --also on ciao--
Recently E.L.F were running a big discount I forgot the discount deal for certain but it was something like 50% on all orders over £30 which for me, being a big make up lover, was too good to pass up. E.L.F is a relatively new make up brand known to me but I've heard nothing but good reviews from so many people regarding their products that I thought that £15 for £30 worth of products would be a good investment. Amongst my haul of E.L.F products was this makeup mist and set spray. I haven't seen anything else like this but did once pick up a tip from the BBC 3 programme 'Snog, marry, avoid' which said that if you apply hairspray on top of your makeup this will make it stay on better- needless to say this didn't really work so I wasn't optimistic that a cheap spray would have any major effect either. The spray comes in a black bottle with write writing which looks sleek and professional. It has the tell tale E.L.F logo and brief product descriptions and information. The spray nozzle attached the the top of the bottle is similar to hair product sprays. To use the product you simply apply your makeup as you usually would and then spray a few squirts of the liquid from 12-16 inches away from the face. It does stipulate on the instructions that you can let it dry naturally which takes about 60 seconds or to blot it with a tissue but doing this can remove some of the top layer of your makeup so this isn't really recommended. The spray comes out in a clear liquid and isn't oily when it has dried nor is it sticky. As I usually state in skin relation products my skin is quite sensitive but this product has no negative effects on my skin whatsoever. The smell of the spray isn't unpleasant but it isn't fruity or floral or perfume like at all, in fact there is nothing similar to the smell of this spray but the scent soon goes soon after applying. I noticed that my foundation did stay on longer when I'd used this spray which is always a bonus as it's really annoying when my foundation ends up patchy! Eye makeup also stays around for a lot longer than it usually would do without the spray which can't be bad as when eye shadow comes off it tends to stick in the creases of the eyelid and looks messy! I would say that my makeup stays on 2-3 hours longer than it would do usually which could be the difference between looking great all day and... well... not looking great all day! The spray contains Aloe, Green tea, cucumber and Vitamins A, C and E which keep the skin smooth, moisturised and supple which is a small added bonus. E.L.F supply this bottle in 60ml bottles for £3.50 which is very cheap and I'd say that the spray will last me in excess of 4 months. I would recommend this product and award it 5/5 stars.
ELF mist and set spray This is the last item that I bought from Elf about a week or so ago. It is a make up setting spray, it is a new product but urban decay also make a few versions of settings sprays too. *About the product* It comes in a black see though spray container, it comes in the Mac cosmetics kind of packaging as it is matte black and white. It only comes in 60ml bottles or 2.02 us fl oz. The packaging is recyclable and ELF does not test on animals. *Ingredients* Water (Aqua), AMP-Acrylates/Allyl Methacrylate Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Leaf Juice, Green Tea (Camelia Sinensis) Extract, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vc), Tocophryl Acetate (Ve) Retinyl Acytate (Va), Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben. *My opinion of the product* -Appearance/smell It is a clear liquid in the bottle and I was a bit sceptical about this product as I don't really see how it can work. It says that it contains Aloe, Green tea, cucumber and the vitamins A, C, and E. It does not smell nice, I can't really place the scent but it is not very pleasant. It is a kind of burnt rubber smell (like the scent of burning the rubber cord on the bunsen burner at school!), which really isn't nice but the scent does go away after a while. -Application and results To apply all you have to do is: 1. Apply your make up 2. Spray on to your face at about 12 to 16" away 3. Let the setting spray dry naturally It says you can blot the excess liquid off but i find this just takes some of my make up off as well, which kind of goes against the whole purpose of the product. And as I wear powder on top of my tinted moisturiser I didn't know if it was going to ruin the powder I put on. But It did not, which is great. It kept my make up on for a lot longer than it usually stays on for. My make up (eyeshadow, tinted moisturiser, powder) stay almost the same as when I applied it in the morning. I have especially noticed that my eyeshadow does not crease or fade as much when used with this product. About half way through the day (even with a primer on) my eyeshadow tends to crease and fade slightly and on the days that I have used this product, I have found that it creases a lot less than it would with out this product! It does not affect my make up at all when I apply with product. It does not affect the powder that I put on and it seems to slightly hydrate my skin as well, which again is great as I do have very very dry skin. It also does not feel heavy on my skin or like I have a mask on my face either. I have quite sensitive skin too and it does not affect my skin in terms of, a reaction, more oily, drying my skin out or causing break outs, which is fantastic. -Additional information On the packaging it says "Keeps make up in place all day with a radiant boosting invisible hold" which I find to be true for me anyway, and as it is a clear liquid it would be suitable for all skin tones. "Lightweight, comfortable and alcohol free formula improves make up wearability and prevents colour from running or fading". *Price* I bought it from the ELF site as that is the only place you can buy these products and the ship to mainland europe too. It cost me £3.50 (the postage is £2.95 for standard delivery) which is a good price as the urban decay ones are about £17/19. Conclusions Good points *Easy to use *Dries quickly *Keeps my make up in place for longer - especially my eyeshadows I have noticed *Good price - a lot cheaper than other similar products *Nice simple, Mac like packaging *Some natural ingredients *Does not dry out my skin, does not cause me to have break outs, does not feel heavy on my skin *Does not irritate my sensitive skin *Slightly hydrating Bad points *Smells quite unpleasant Thank you for reading my review
