E.L.F Total Face Brush
Advantages: Applies powder well, looks more natural, good quality, long lasting.
Disadvantages: Not good for precision work.
As many will know by now I got most of my E.L.F products during 50% sales and this is no exception. I had never really used brushes before and was given a brush set that turned out to be rubbish but I found it so much easier to apply my make up and so when i saw E.L.F had a 50% sale and previously used their brands and had been impressed I decided to give a few of their brushes a go with this being the one I have since used most often.
The brush comes from the budget line where items are £1.50 each or as I paid 75p which is pretty good, even at full price this is much cheaper than other brands out there. The brush came cased in a transparent plastic wrap which you can use to store the brush but admittedly I don't and prefer to just keep it loose. The brush has a really thick handle, around the size of a paintbrush handle but is round so easy to hold and grip. The base is white and surprisingly has stayed clean over the last year despite daily use. Around halfway up the length is a silver holder which has the bristles poking out of the end. The bristles are lovely and long as well as being extremely full which is perfect for applying make up. Overall the brush doesn't look overly expensive but for the price I really couldn't complain.
I use the brush to apply a face powder and have also used it for mineral make up and found the bristles hold onto the powder well, I dip or swirl over the powder once and sweep it over my face in circular motions. The brush feels lovely and soft against my skin whilst the powder transfers well from the brush onto my skin very easily. This blends face powder well but I think it's just too big to effectively apply blusher or eyeshadow with, I also think the bristles are too soft to make a difference anyway and I have separate brushes for those purposes.
Despite being in use a year now the brush still retains all the bristles and it's softness despite daily use. They are also still straight and haven't become misshapen in any way which I think is excellent especially for the price. To wash you simply use warm water with a slight soap to it or use a brush cleaner but honestly I have never had to do this and it still works perfectly well and isn't dirty in any way this is probably because I only use it for face powder or mineral foundation which is also a powder so there has been no switching of products which has probably helped.
Overall I think that this is an excellent brush and I'm not even sure what I done before I had this brush. My make up looks so much more natural now and is less intense than what it was using sponge applicators. It doesn't work well for precision work but for a full on face it works perfectly, if I ever had to replace it i definitely would even at full price it is not expensive and as I say a year of constant use and it's still in perfect condition is really worth it.
Summary: A must have in any make up box.
