      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      will not buy again

I bought this in the Elf 50% off sale and as this was one of my first felt tip eyeliners I was really excited to receive this. Here are my thoughts

      Packaging
This is just a standard black matte plastic with elf written in white across it. This is about the same size as a crayola felt tip and can be shoved it any bag. This could very easily be mistaken for a pen and my boyfriend has tried to use it as such before - luckily I managed to stop him!
This packaging is nice and discreet you wouldn't realise it was so cheap.

      The eyeliner
First of all the nib is terrible, the first few applications this is almost scrathing my eye, it is so uncomfortable. Once you get past that stage though the brush becomes softer but this is only because it is falling apart. This means it very hard to get a proper line and very easy to make a mistake. When this is being removed it smudges an unholy amount so one mistake can ruin an entire face of makeup.

The colour is meant to be black but unless you go over and over this is nothing more than a dark grey but with some perseverance I can get an ok black winged eyeliner.

Staying power wise this is not too bad. Once I've got past all the other issues this looks quite good and it can last a night out. But is it waterproof as promised? No. This copes with sweat but not water, it also flakes leaving an unsightly mess around my eyes. These need to be constantly cleaned up.

      Price and availability
This cost me just £1.50 in the sale and for when it does actually work I think it is worth that but for the full price of £3 noway. I will not be buying this again and this is just another disappointment in the mixed bag that is elf cosmetics.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      3/5

I love felt-tip eyeliners, they're so much more fun to apply than normal eye liners!

I've got quite a few different ones, one of which is the ELF waterproof eyeliner pen. I used to have four of these but one arrived without anything inside the casing so was unuseable and the other two dried out after a couple of weeks so I just have one at the minute.

These retail at £1.50 each which is an amazing price and so much cheaper than a majority of other brands but just as good! There are eight colours available which I think is great - most eyeliners are only available in the usual brown and black so the colour choice is a nice change. I currently have the black one but I've had the grey one in the past and both colours are very well pigmented and intense.

With some cheap 'felt tip' eye liners, the black shades can look quite washed out but the pigmentation is really impressive. The eye liner comes in a plastic tube which holds 1.8g of product. It is designed to look like a pen which I find quite cute. It's black with white writing on the side of it saying the brand and product name. The packaging is quite sleek and it doesn't look cheap or tacky. The pen can fit in my make-up bag easily and doesn't take up much room and it is easy to grip and it's very lightweight.

The firm nib is a good size and slightly pointed making application precise and the line it produces when applied is very neat and a medium size - not tooo thin and not too thick. The nib is protected by a plastic lid which just pulls off. It's important to remember to put the lid back on after each use else it will dry out. ELF claim that this is a 'no smudge, no budge' eyeliner which lasts for hours. It's waterproof as well.

When I first got this a couple of weeks ago, the nib was quite moist and very soft and it glided across my skin without dragging but it's now a lot dryer and starting to go a little hard even though I always make sure that I put the lid back on after each use. It is still useable but not as much product comes out unless I spend a couple of minutes shaking it.

I use this mainly on my upper lids when I'm wearing falsies to cover up the band and it's good for the outer eyelash flick as well as it stays in place, dries quickly and doesn't smudge. I rarely use it on my waterline as it irritates my eyes and makes them water for some reason, but it's fine on my upper lashline. It gives that extra bit of definition and lasts for ages - at least six hours. It's quite difficult to remove and I have to scrub my eyes with a make-up removing pad to get it off - it takes quite a few make-up removing pads to remove all traces of it.

I give it three out of five stars. It's cheap, well pigmented, cruelty free (not tested on animals) and long lasting but if used on my waterline it irritates my eyes and it also goes really dry in the tube after a couple of weeks.

A nice, thin and easy to use pen. Great for first time eyeliner pen users!

I read a lot of reviews before I decided to buy this. Most of which were positives but there was a few that claimed it made their eyes red and sensitive. I decided to buy it anyway as it is very reasonably priced at £3.50.

It came in the same type of packaging as toothbrushes. The pen itself is very thin and sleek. It has a very thin felt-tip pen like top. I applied it on top of foundation, as I normally do, and it took a few attempts to get a solid black line. The next day I decided to apply it BEFORE foundation and wow, it is so much easier! I got a thick perfect line straight away!

I think this would suit someone who doesn't wear foundation, or someone who wears mineral make-up, as it doesn't seem to apply well on top of liquid foundation. I did not experience any redness or sensitivity, and it was very easy to remove with make-up wipes. I think it's great considering how cheap it is!

      INTRO

For a while now I have been using E.L.F products. They wow me every time I buy one of their good quality make up products. They are really reliable which is why I loved them - and the fact their things are so cheap , it doesn't really matter if you don't really like some of their things because it's not like you've lost LOADS of money.

      WHO ARE E.L.F

E.L.F are a Makeup up company that sells their products in the UK, America, Italy and a few other countries. They are known for their good quality products and very low prices. They don't test on animals and use bacteria free synthetic brushes.

      THE STUDIO RANGE

One of E.L.F's makeup ranges is the Studio range. The prices in this range start from £3.50. They are best known for looking and performing like professional makeup brands. The studio range has been compared to the top makeup brands such as Lancome and L'oreal and has come out equal to them , quality and performance wise.

      THE MINERAL RANGE

The mineral range is best known for its 100% natural materials. All the packaging in this range is recyclable. This range looks professional too. The prices for this range is from £3.00 and up.

      THE E.L.F's OWN RANGE

E.L.F's 'own' range is the cheapest range they sell. All of the products in this range are from £1.50. They don't look or feel as professional as the other ranges - however they are still good quality.
      PRICE
The waterproof eyeliner is £1.50. It is one of E.L.F's cheaper products but it performs just as well as other eyeliners.

      PACKAGING

The eyeliner comes as it is. It comes in a black thin tube which has the name of the eye liner on the side. It is shiny black and feels likes a felt tip. The lid snaps on securely so no leakages.

      COVERAGE

The coverage is really good. The eyeliner goes on nice and smoothly after one stroke. I find that by doing it in small strokes on the eyelid makes the liner appear a lot more neat and tidy. It is matte black so it makes the eyes look stunning.

      WATERPROOF?

I wouldn't say that this is 100% waterproof. It is waterproof to a certain extent. I put it on and went for a walk in wind and rain, with an umbrella and by the time i got home there was the signs of panda eyes however it wasn't that bad. But I wouldn't call this a GOOD waterproof eyeliner. It's just OK.

      APPLICATION

The application is easy. The felt tip brush allows easy application. To apply simply start in the middle of your lash line and start by doing small strokes and lightly pressing the eyeliner on your eye. For a thicker line, tilt the eyeliner brush more so that more of it is touching your lash line.

      OVERALL

Overall this eyeliner is cheap so I wouldn't expect much of it. It's not AMAZING but it does the job. It has a nice coverage and is easy to remove but if you want a brilliant eyeliner than maybe spend a little more on one of the studio eyeliners or a different branded eyeliner.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

One of my favourite eye liners that I will continue to keep in my make-up bag

My new favourite cosmetics company is E.L.F., which stands for Eyes, Lips, Face. They are an online retailer and their UK web store can be reached at this address http://www.eyeslipsface.co.uk. They have several different ranges of make-up, including their Basic, Mineral, and Studio lines. I love wearing make-up and have great fun experimenting with colours and different looks. It's nice to have lots of products to play around with but there are always a few items that become must-haves and form the basis of most of my 'faces'. I tend to put the focus on my eyes and go for bold, bright looks with heavy liner.

This Waterproof Eyeliner Pen is part of the Basic range and costs just £1.50 for a 1.8g amount of product. There are 5 different shades available to choose from: Coffee (brown), Black, Midnight (blue), Ash (grey) and Plum. I have this in the classic black shade as it's a great all-rounder.

Product description: "Get no smudge, no budge eyeliner that lasts for hours for a fabulous and fresh look of precision. The smooth pen applicator easily glides on color for very fine to bold lines for effortless beauty."

It comes sealed in a cardboard backed blister pack which contains directions and ingredients listings on the back. The waterproof Eyeliner Pen comes in a long, thin tube with a pull-off cap lid. This reveals the "pen" eyeliner tip and is an excellent packaging idea as it makes the product really easy to use and there is no mess. This easily fits into any make-up bag, handbag or even your pocket.

Directions for use: Hold applicator at a slight angle and apply color to the base of the lashes. Use a light touch for thin lines or a firmer touch for thicker lines. To remove easily use a water based makeup remover. Best stored tip down for ultimate color saturation.

I don't wear too much make-up on a daily basis, preferring to keep it natural and mainly just use base and concealer products. But I do like a strong eye make-up, and will always choose dramatic eyes over heavy lip colour. A black eyeliner is a must have item for every girl and they can be used to create all sorts of looks. My favourite look is simple but stylish no matter what occasion you are dressing for. Create a smooth, straight line with the liner, from the inner corner of the upper lid to the outer corner. You can then add a flick at the outer corner for a touch more drama. The Waterproof Eyeliner Pen is the perfect product to use in this manner. You can get a good grip on the tube and the fine brush tip allows you to simply draw the make-up onto your eyelid. It is extremely accurate and goes on like a dream. No mess, no fuss and no awkward application. This is a lot neater than liquid eyeliners and gives a crisper look than a normal eye pencil. I would say this is the ideal solution for anyone that has trouble getting an even line with liquid eyeliner products.

Because the eyeliner has a pen tip it is gentle on the skin. The colour comes out clearly and you don't have to rub repetitively at the delicate skin around your eye area. It also allows you to get creative and try some more playful designs. I often like to draw long-ling flicks out from the corners of my eyes and decorate with small dots or whatever takes my fancy. The pen nib allows you to draw freely and get a very precise level of detail. However, I did have some serious problems when I tried wearing this eyeliner on my lower lash line. Put simply, it stung like hell! The product seemed to irritate my eyes and it was very sore after I had applied it along the bottom lashes. I had not experienced any discomfort when wearing along my upper lash line over my eyelids, so I was very surprised. I would expect that this could be problematic for anyone that suffers with particularly sensitive eyes.

I often like to apply my eyeliner over a base eye shadow to add a bit of definition. Sometimes with liquid liners this ends up getting clogged, and with pencils it can create a messy look if you're not careful. This Waterproof Eyeliner Pen smoothes on easily over any other eye make-up and does not cause any detrimental effect on any base make-up you may already be wearing. Once I have applied this eyeliner it is set for the day. I never have any need to touch it up or re-apply, and it has fantastic staying power. The waterproof formula really helps it to stay in place and I never have problems with smudging or running. As for its lifespan, I've found that I can get about 3 months maximum usage from one Eyeliner Pen. This does not seem like a lot but I use this product practically every single day and for just £1.50 this is still exceptionally good value.

E.L.F.'s budget range has some fantastic items and this Waterproof Eyeliner Pen is a handy product that can be used to create many different looks and I can't go without it. For just £1.50 this is a real bargain and I will definitely be buying it again. It has a simple, accurate application and is great for glamming up every day. It does have some serious down points but this is still a firm favourite of mine.

E.L.F. are against animal testing - please keep your beauty cruelty free!

Ingredients: Aqua, Styrene/Acrylates/Ammonium Methacrylate Copolymer, SD Alcohol 40 (Alcohol Denat), Butylene Glycol, Sodium Laureth-12 Sulfate, Benzyl Alcohol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone. Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A pretty average liquid eye-liner - 3 out of 5 stars

        E.L.F Waterproof Eyeliner Pen

I bought this waterproof eyeliner pen as well as quite a few other products from ELF, an online store that sells makeup products for bargain basement prices. ELF offer a wide range of makeup as well as mineral makeup and their own Studio range based makeup. What really caught my attention was the price, most of all their items cost £1.50 or £3.50 (or some are somewhere in between unless you plan on buying any larger gift sets). Although the prices initially drew me in, unless you get something that you like and would use it can't really be classified as a bargain. To date, I have only placed two orders to ELF online (eyeslipsface.co.uk), but overall I have really been pleased with what I have purchased.

One of the reasons I purchased this was because it was advertised as being a water proof eyeliner, which promises not to budge or smudge. Well on all of those accounts this eyeliner really fails to deliver. It does smudge, it doesn't last all day and it is far from water proof. Unlike some other water proof make up that I own this can easily be removed by just using your normal routine and it doesn't require special eye makeup removal lotion. It does tend to stay pretty much in place but if you do rub or touch your eye it will smudge very easily and by the end of the day this is never as pristine looking as I would prefer.

This pen is a really nice shape to hold and use, I find that it fits nicely into my hand. The nib is also very easy to get good and even results with. The tip as you would suspect is quite fine so you can get a nice light line however, if you use it in a more side on way you can get a thicker more noticeable dark line, perfect for creating day or evening looks.

There isn't that much liquid eyeliner in the pen (1.8 grams) which really doesn't last for that long. However, considering the price and that usually ELF products come in small quantities I was expecting this and I wouldn't say it was much of a problem. For the retail price of £1.50, I think you get enough to justify the price. However, personally I would have rather paid more for more product instead of having an eyeliner pen that runs out quickly and is just more packaging to be thrown into the landfills of the world.

This is available in five different colours, black, ash, midnight, plum and coffee. I have tried and used the black and ash. The ash has been my favourite colour, it is grey but a very dark grey. When this is applied it is hard to tell that it isn't black, but it suits me better because it is a little less harsh and severe than black can look on me.

This eyeliner gets a pretty average three out of five stars from me. Despite it not being waterproof and that it can smudge, I still think it makes for a nice if not very average liquid eyeliner. I prefer quite a few other eyeliners over this one and I would hesitate to recommend it as ELF offer better alternatives at the similar great cheap prices that do look better on. Overall, this is a one of their products that I won't be rushing out to buy again anytime soon.

        Disadvantages

Not worth buying! but the other products from elf are really really good!

        E.L.F Waterproof Eyeliner Pen!

After searching the web for about an hour just looking for a waterproof liquid liner, I was almost ready to give up when I saw this site elf cosmetics in the corner of my eye. Im naturally curious like a cat and I found this product and so many others a completely insane prices!!! Like amazingly cheap make up which looked quite high quality, which don't really go together!

As this is a rare occurance I checked it out and I bought the liner and a liquid eyeliner and two waterproof eye shadows. I love everything except the pen. There is hardly any liquid in it, it is just completely dry and i have not even used it yet! It makes a really thick pale uneven scruffy line which looks horrible! I will not be buying this product again.... ever!

I love all of the other products so much they are really good! The pen was £1.50 and they come in so many colours but don't buy it, it is a waste of money, and its a shame as all of the other items are really really good and well well! Not worth buying.

Thank you for reading my review

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

A decent liner for what it costs.

I can happily go without most makeup products, but the only one that really leaves my face feeling naked if I don't use it is Liquid Eyeliner. So when I was browsing on the E.L.F website and saw this pen I thought it was worth a try - it's in a compact pen and would fit perfectly into my 'on the go' makeup bag. And it's only £1.50, so I popped it into my basket.

        :: The Pen + Promises ::

E.L.F say this pen is a 'no smudge, no budge eyeliner' and promise it will last for hours after useage giving you a 'fabulous and fresh' look all day long.
The Eyeliner comes in 5 colours - Black, Brown, Midnight (blue), Ash (grey) and Plum - There are swatches of the colours on the E.l.f website.

        :: The Packaging ::

The packaging for this, of course, is a pen! I'd say it's about as long as your typical biro, but it kind of curves in the middle (the pen has a waist!) so you can get a good grip.
The lid just pulls off - yep, just like a pen. - to reveal the eyeliner applicator which reminds me of the tips on the Berol felt tip pens you used at school! Apart from this is about 1cm long with a rather fine tip for more precise applications.
The packaging is completely black bar a very sleek looking silver font that just reads 'elf Waterproof Eyeliner Pen' and is the only design on the packaging.
Like all E.L.F packaging, it's kept simple as to not bump the price up but I think it gives it quite a chic look using simple solid colours.

        :: Over All ::

I'm 50/50 on this pen. When I first got it the tip was very dry so I couldn't use it straight away and had to stand in upside down for a day for the colour to kind of make it's way to the tip! So you need to make sure you store this tip down to get the best colour results. - I've had days where I forget to do this and the next day the colour is very weak and the tip is really dry!
But when it works, it's really good. I find the colour lasts all day and doesn't smudge like my other liquid eyeliners. - When I pop to the ladies to spruce my makeup after work up it doesn't need a lot of work (just a re application to the outside corners of your eyes if you do 'flicks') so it gets top marks there.
But sadly, waterproof it isn't! I wore this while I watched 'A Love to Hide' and bawled my eyes out. I thought I'd be safe with it supposedly being waterproof but when I checked my makeup in the mirror afterwards I had a case of Panda eyes going on. Thanks E.l.f!

        :: Pricing ::

Like all the other E.L.F basic product this costs £1.50 - which I think is more than reasonable.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Disappointing

By my own admission I have never had a huge amount of luck with eyeliner. My lashes are blonde at the roots and it's very hard for me to apply a clean line without it looking like there is a gap between my lashes and the eyeliner - even when I have applied mascara to the base of my lashes.

I usually go for gel liners, but have also found in the past that the 'felt tip' type liners are easier for me to apply than a standard pencil. With this in mind, I decided to treat myself to one of their waterproof liner pens when I placed an order with budget cosmetics site ELF a few months ago.

I have blue/grey eyes and grey eyeliner seems to suit me better than black, but it can be surprisingly difficult to get hold of. I was pleased to see ELF made a colour called Ash, a dark grey shade, and this is the one which I purchased. Other colours available are black, coffee (mid-dark brown), midnight (dark blue) and plum.

The pen itself is fairly nice to look at. Housed in black plastic and with metallic silver writing, it looks basic yet there's something about it that makes it appear pricier than it was. The pen tapers in towards the middle, something which is practical as it aids grip as well as being pleasing on the eye.

The eyeliner has a tip which is very much like a felt tip pen and is very long and pointed. The tip is also very hard and I found that when I began to apply this, it felt quite scratchy on my eyelid and was quite uncomfortable. Even with continued usage, the pen tip didn't soften which was rather disappointing.

On a more positive note, it was quite easy to apply as it could get close to the lash line with the tip, but if you want a quite thick line, I think it could be difficult as this produces a rather thin line which is difficult to build up. The pigmentation of the eyeliner was really disappointing too. The colour looked very patchy and almost as though I had missed bits, so I'd have to go over it again and again to make it look smooth.

One of my biggest disappointments with the pen was the colour. I knew it was supposed to be dark grey, but I thought it looked too dark and was too close to black for my preferences.

I never really got the chance to find out if this product was indeed waterproof as it wore off so quickly. I would find that within around 2 hours of application it had disappeared completely -again hugely disappointing.

The eyeliner costs just £1.50 from website www.eyeslipsface.co.uk. Although that's cheap, obviously I would rather pay extra for something that does actually work!

Overall, I was not impressed - it looked patchy from the moment it was applied and seemed to have pretty much vanished within a couple of hours! I wouldn't buy this again and I would not recommend it to others.

            Advantages

            Disadvantages

            Not recommended

Normally I wear khol eyeliner along the lid of the my eyes but during the summer I decided to try this waterproof eyeliner pen from E.L.F (www.eyeslipsface.co.uk) to try and prevent any smudging or running due to the hot weather. The pen cost me £1.50 as most of E.L.F's products do and once it arrived I put it to work!

The pen comes in standard packaging on a piece of card and is the same size as a biro. It tells us the pen has "a new improved formula" and "smooth glide applicator" and is "long wearing waterproof eyeliner". On the back it says "get no smudge, no budge eyeliner that lasts hours" so I was expecting this to last and last!

The pen itself has a lid that is just pulled of and clicked on and mine is black. There are 5 colours to choose from and I can highly recommend everyone stays away from the plum one in any brand as it makes us look red-eyed and hungover!! Anyway back to the pen. The tip is like a long felt tip pen tip and the actual case of the pen tapers in towards this tip so you can hold it easily. I find E.L.F often have very good shapes to their make up and this pen does feel nice and easy to control.

I only wanted to apply a line along my upper lashes so I first prepped the area with some face powder and then braced me and my shaky hands for the job. I found this didn't go on great actually and it was like the pen was drying out even though it was new and I kept having to tip it nib down and give it a shake to get more liquid to the tip. However I did eventually get the right amount on and it feels just like someone has drawn along your eye with a marker pen, very wet for a short while. I left it for a good few minutes before it stopped feeling wet so this is not one you can apply other make up near for a while but as I'm used to khol rather than liquid liners I think this is fairly normal.

I decided to test this rather than assume it would be waterproof as I find alot of waterproof products are so far from waterproof they may as well call them soluble! I dabbed a bit of water on the liner and it smudged and budged straight away! Not impressed I reverted back to khol and deicded to give this another trial for the purpose of this review.

I moisturise my eyelids when I do my face so I thought it might be that because moisturiser has oil in it so I applied a line to my bare hand, no moisturiser or make up underneath, and waited for that to dry. Once dry I touched my finger to to the tip of my tongue so it was only just damp and lightly dabbed the line on my hand. Again it smudged immediately so I can conclude this is not waterproof at all! It is very much soluble!

So sadly, even though E.L.F do some great products this isn't one of them. It smudges and budges easily with the slightest bit of moisture, it doesn't apply quickly or easily and the pen dries out every few seconds. I wasted only £1.50 to establish this but I was still disappointed because it didn't do what they claimed it would at all. Not recommended I'm afraid girls and this is going in the bin. One star.
