On one of my trips to E.L.F's website (www.eyeslipsface.co.uk) I found myself looking at this clear mascara and brow item. I don't use clear mascara as I don't have dark enough lashes to carry it off but I do tend to get messy eyebrows at times and wanted this item purely for that reason. At £1.50 it seemed worth a try so I popped one in my basket.

When the item arrived I was keen to see if it would keep my eyebrows tidy so after plucking stray hairs and applying my make up I brushed some of this through my eyebrows. The brush is exactly the same as a mascara brush, in fact I can't see a difference between the two ends despite the fact one end is for brows and the other for lashes. To apply you brush in the direction of the hair growth to basically hold the hairs where they should be. I found the brush easy to use and didn't get it anywhere except where I wanted it. It does feel wet for a short while afterwards but soon dries. I could feel I was wearing this a bit, it makes eyebrows feel a bit stiff but not excessively so.

For the purpose of the review I tried the clear mascara. It is supposed to be a wet gloss look with conditioning agents but as it's clear you can't really tell if it conditions your lashes. I've got quite pale eyelashes so don't ever wear clear mascara, as far as I'm concerned if I'm going to use clear I may as well not wear any at all. However I applied this to see what it did and can confirm it does make eyelashes look a bit wet but not any darker like they would really be if they were wet. It doesn't lengthen or thicken either so it's really only for people with long dark lashes or those who like to look very natural.

The product contains 2.5ml of clear liquid and as the brushes look identical to me I'll be using the mascara side for my eyebrows as well as the eyebrow side. I've tried it on my eyebrows already as I wondered if it would make them look wet but it doesn't, it just makes them look a bit shinier than usual so not very noticeable to others. I like the way it keeps my eyebrows from getting ruffled even if I rub my face, I'm not someone who plucks their brows to within an inch of their lives, I like mine to be tidy but to retain their natural shape and size which not only makes life easier with plucking but looks alot more natural. Each to their own however.

Overall I like this product for eyebrows but wouldn't use it for eyelashes but that's just because of my colouring and it may suit some people to use it for both. It does work to keep my brows tidy and looks natural at the same time so a very good 4 star rating from me.
