As I get older I find that sometimes when I want to look my best and have a function or party to go to I have to wear a concealer , as my skin isn't as youthful looking as it used to be and now has fine lines and sometimes dark circles under the eyes if I have been staying up late.
At times like these a good concealer is necassary.
I bought this Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Maximum Coverage Concealer for £9.75 from cheapsmells.co.uk but the prices vary depending on where you buy it from and this isn't always in stock on that site so you might have to browse around and pay a little more somewhere else if your buying online. Anything up to £16.
It can also be found on Ebay occassionally but I have seen it in TK Max for £15 and it is available at Boots chemist.
The compact is a nice size that goes nicely into your make-up bag it is a shiney black square with a mirror in the inside lid, I like these types of compacts as you can apply the concealer when your out clubbing or at a party and it has begun to wear off a little, you can just nip to the loo and re-apply.
The compact has a snap shut fastener and the concealer is raised slightly for easy access to the creamy concealer in side.
This is can be bought in three shades to match any skin tone, it comes in light, medium and deep and you just smooth it on to the face and it spreads nicely covering blemishes and fine lines.
It is especially good on dark circles under the eyes and is suitable for all types of skin. I have sensative skin and this is alright for me.
I haven't had a bad reaction to it and it covers nicely and lasts a few hours.
You can remove it quickly with warm soapy water or cleanser if you prefer to use that.
This has lasted me two months so far and there's still a little bit left in the compact for at least another five or six outings or functions when I get the invites.
I'm happy with the tones it comes in as it blends in nicely with my skin tone. I will be buying this again as I like it.
Some dark circles under eyes can be as stubborn as my Star Sign, Aries. I love experimenting with new concealers to find the best one for me. Granted you don't always have to opt for the high end brands - but the money you do spend on trying out various lower priced budget beauty products mounts up to just one luxury product. Well that's the way I see it when im feeling a tad guilty about splurging out again! Elizabeth Arden products were never really on my radar until I recently spotted this sleek looking compact and the curiosity got the better of me. I was delighted to find it was a concealer and even more so when I read the words 'maximum coverage' what every girl loves to hear.
Bestowed in a glossy black, sturdy square compact with thick plastic and a strong clasp to ensure no spillages or breakage when bustled into your handbag of a morning! It appears fashionable, stylish and attractive - something I would really want to have join my collection! Once you open it up it transforms into a normal compact style product with a mirror on one side in a circle formation and the product on the other - again in a elegant circle. I love the fact it has a mirror because not only does it mean you can pop it in your pocket for a touch up during the day - but if you are a bit forgetful and ditzy like myself - you know you'll always have a mirror on you when you bring this bad boy of a concealer along!
There are four shades to choose from; starting with the lightest entitled 'Fair' - this is a vanilla shade with pale attributes, however it does have some colour to it and I found I had to blend it in quite a bit to match my natural skin tone. The next shade is called 'Light' which is a soft tan colour perfect for anyone with olive skin or if you wear fake tan I think this would match perfectly. The third shade of the range is 'Medium' which is a slightly darker tan shade that gives a beautiful sun kissed glow, and last but not least is the darkest shade called 'Deep.'
I absolutely love the creamy, lightweight formulation of this concealer. I find it easiest to swirl my finger over the product and then dab it under my eyes and blend out with a brush or cotton bud, I have tried to use a brush to pick the product up but I do not feel it goes on the same - plus you end up wasting have of it on the brush rather than your face! It's extremely easy to blend and creates a flawless look that instantly covers darks circles, any blemishes or imperfections and more importantly fine lines!
Suitable for all skin types I love the matte finish that this concealer gives you and you only have to put one layer on that's all that's needed, usually I have to keep dabbing at my eyes for ages until I see a result - but not with this one! I love how compact and concise the packaging is and I love how it makes my skin feel and look. You can get away with wearing it on its own but works well with foundation for that extra bit of protection!
Retailing at roughly £18 depending on where you buy it is a little bit more expensive than other drug store brands but can you put a price on luxury?
