This was the first foundation I ever purchased and surprising to most i was foolish in making this my foundation. Although this elizabeh arden product is rather popular and a lot of people love it I have to diagree with them.
Firstly this foundation is oil based which is a big no no, oil based foundations clog your pores and cause breakouts which is what this did. Also because of the oil it makes the foundation look really shiny even if you dont have oily skin which means a lot of powder is needed. This is rather annoying as I am out of powder really easily. It also can look really cakey.
The foundtion comes in a compact moussy liquid kind of form with a sponge to apply. The sponge makes it really easy to apply and blend onto the skin. One thing though is that the foundation doesn't last all day so touch ups are constantly required. Although the compact does come with a mirror which is handy for touch ups. The foundation however definitly doesn't last all day and always fades. But the foundation does do the job, it covers blemishes and flaws but there are drawbacks.
This foundation has been on the market for ten years so its never changed therefore never adapting to the new technology for skincare. The compact costs around twenty seven pounds from
debenams. Its no longer available at boots you see. Overall a foundation that does the job but too many negative drawbacks to be worth it. I would not recommend this to anyone.
I have used this since I was 18 years old- as fast approaching 40 quite some time! Despite trying others along the way I have always gone back to this foundation. It is so easy to apply, blend and even better touch up- as and when needed during the day if needed. Even though a sponge to powder this does not feel at all dry and doesn't look patchy on the skin! It lasts ages and is well worth the investment. Ironically my 18 year old daughter now is wearing this too! There is a really good range of colours available -I tend to go from gentle beige in the winter to toasty in the summer months! Has a good size mirror so handy to carry around and in all the years I have used haven't had a cracked mirror yet despite my appearance! I would highly recommend to all as you can wear as light or extra for full coverage as preferred!
I love Elizabeth Arden products, however, this one didn't quite do it for me. I have sensitive skin which is dry at times but can get a bit greasy when I over moisturise. I tried this particular foundation because it was on offer at my local debenhams. At first I thought it would offer what I usually like - if I wear makeup, I want to look like I'm wearing it I have no time for the natural look. However, this product took me way beyond that! I'm sad to say it caked on my face no matter how little I tried to use and left a streaky finish when I tried to apply liberally. That said, for a night out applied over a few layers of fake tan, it certainly did the job!! I would say, for me and those with skin like me, this is definately a night out foundation which provides a good, lasting finish. Not one for the day job. That said, my teenage daughter who likes to leave the house looking like she is going on a night out, not to school is a big fan!
This foundation is only for a certain skin kind! it is oil based so if you have oily skin please avoid as it doesnt look great! I used to use this but stopped as it gets everywhere, i am very carefully with this like this as i hate stains but this is impossible to not get everywhere. Also you need to reapply lots as it rubbs off so easily so you end up using loads even if you dont use a lot of foundation like myself! I also dislike the colour it goes on your skin as it doesnt give you a nice colour it looks orange when you stand in proper light. Good points about the foundation is you can apply it to give you as much coverage as you want simply the more coverage you want the more you apply. Make sure you take all foundation off at night as it is a thick substance it will clogg pours if not taken off properly.
// FLAWLESS FINISH \\
Quite pricey and expensive, this foundation comes in at the £10.00 - £20.00 mark depending on where you get it, I guess though it is Elizabeth Arden, well known for some of its amazing products.
I find the compact it comes in to be old fashioned but with a modern twist about it, its very sleek and simple and looks rather expensive.
When I got this, it came in a black rectangle cardboard box with the Elizabeth Arden logo on it and more useful information spread over the box.
The compact itself is black in colour, smooth to touch and inside there is a very decent sized mirror along with a white sponge which you use to apply the foundation.
Over all, a very sleek and simple looking product which does catch the eye.
This foundation is meant to give a flawless look to your face, its also suited and aimed at most people because you can adjust the amount on your face, from light coverage to heavy coverage, what ever suits you. Another great thing about this foundation is, its versatile meaning you can use it as a concealer too.
I used this when I was 13, I remember the coverage being amazing and I suffered from acne back then too so I was so happy to have had the chance to use this, unfortunately I only got to use it once as it was my cousins and I wouldn't of been able to fork out the money by myself when I was that age, so about 2 years ago I decided to buy this again after remembering it, I wear a lot of foundation as my acne is quite severe and the thought of this got me excited, I remembered my face being flawless. The next day I went with my auntie and purchased this from The Body Shop for around £15.00.
The colour which I chose was Beige, the colour which my usual foundation was and after speaking to the woman behind the counter we both thought this would be best for me.
For the coverage I wanted the product told me to apply to my face with a dry sponge, this would give the fullest coverage possible.
When opening, the foundation has a very nice light smell to it, when feeling the foundation with your finger, its quite dry!
I found the sponge to be quite thin and floppy, not very good quality from a well known brand, it was hard to use and very small, it also felt very dirty after one use and needed to be washed straight away.
A few days after I decided to give up on the sponge as it was just impossible to get a nice flawless result, the colour was orange and my face was streaky, I went out to Superdrug and spent a good few pounds on a new sponge, going home with high expectations now I had this sponge.
When I got home I found this sponge a lot better, bigger and felt better to grip than the other one, it picked up the foundation a lot more evenly and perfectly than the other one, I also found the foundation turned very creamy whilst it was on the sponge which I liked!
After applying the foundation using my new sponge I was extremely disappointed, the flawless look which I had experienced when I was 13 had gone, through the foundation you could still see my spots, and I had a lot of this foundation on, it felt heavy and dragged my skin down, the colour was very dodgy looking as well, quite orangey.
I looked blotchy and awful and wished I could return it.
I then decided to try the foundation other ways, with my fingers and with a foundation brush, but still the same result.
The thing I find strange is how it changed in the years that went by, going from such a perfection foundation to a horrible one, I remember it covered every single one of my spots and did indeed make me look flawless, but for some reason, now it didn't make me look flawless at all, maybe its the way my skin has changed?..or maybe because they MIGHT have changed the formula?...who knows.
This foundation is still sitting in my make up junk, won't be used again!
This foundation it often mistaken for a heavy foundation that should be used on maturer skin... this is totally untrue. Having used many many foundations and this Elizabeth Arden flawless finish is one of my favorites. The coverage it totally up to yourselves, by applying the foundation with a wet sponge your are able to give yourself a dewy sheer finish, whereas using a dry sponge provides a matte finish. Like with any foundation the coverage depends on how much you apply, and this foundation allows you the opportunity to create a light natural finish to a heavy night time look. Alot of people have said that this foundation acts as a good concealer, I dont agree with this point but I suffer with quite dark circles so feel an industrial concealer is much more reliable. The other great this about this foundation is the price, cheap and cheerful. Before buying the product I would advise you get the Elizabeth Arden representative to match the foundation to your skin tone otherwise you'll get an unnatural finish.
Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Sponge-On Cream Foundation is really good it gives amazing coverage it goes on your face very thick and using the smallest amount of this foundation goes a long way and it last for a long period of time . This foundation is Oil Based so if you have oily skin i would avoid this product bcause it will make your skin look shiny and sticky but if you insist on using this product if you have oily skin just put a loose powder over the foundation to set it and this should take the shiny sticky look away for a while . If You Have Dry Skin this will be a good foundation for you because it will make your skin look hydrated . Overall i think it's a very good foundation it doesnt have any harsh chemicals in it so your skin wont break out in spots ect . The price varies on what shop you want to buy it from .
Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Sponge-on Cream Make-up
Around £12.99 - but shop around as I found it in a relative unknown department store for about £10
The product comes in a black case with a mirror and a sponge for easy application.
I first used this product when I ran out of foundation so had to borrow my mum's and this was the one that she used and ever since then i've loved it. Its so easy to apply as you do get a sponge. However, the sponge is relatively small and thin so I feel it doesn't last too long and you need to continuously clean it. However, the foundation itself does exactly what it says it does - provides a flawless finish. The colour that I have is perfect for my skin tone and makes my skin look flawless. However, I sometimes first use normal liquid based fondation first and then apply this cream over the top to give a more all over and flawless cover. I rarely wear this on its own.
I would recommend this product to provide all over flawless finish and the price is really good for a foundation especially since it lasts so long. I would definitely buy this product again.
i absolutely love this stuff never lets me down when you want your skin to look its best this never fails to achieve that
it has very good coverage and it looks great on it has a nice smell too and its doesn't leave Ur face feeling horrible after application like some foundations can it can be used as a concealer as well as a foundation the coverage is very good and can be customized based on how much you use sort of like a build up tan only build up coverage and you don't have to wait cos the coverage is already there.
its a lovely foundation and theirs no other i would use for everyday wear i get porcelain beige its perfect its also nice in other colors my sis gets perfect beige and its also nice.
It glides on brilliantly and you can get a even better finish if you dampen the sponge however for good coverage you should apply it dry. In my opinion it feels very nice on your skin as well. Its a comfortable foundation to wear and when applied properly you have no worry of it being too visible or obvious cos it blends splendidly and its very easily removed when taking it off too.
the packaging is lovely id even go as far as to say luxurious even the foundation lasts a very long time even when using it quite often for coverage mines last me a few months at a time.
iv tried almost every foundation going and always come back to this cos its simply the best its worth every penny even on a bad day with your skin were you look in the mirror and go oh no i am not leaving the house
this stuff can cover any undesirable spots or whatever very well and have you going out the door confident with how well your skin looks Its a very high quality foundation.
I have read others views on elizabeth arden make up and to be fair i somewhat differ. I started using it as a change from the make up i had been using and i found it quite heavy on my face. It was thick and it seemed to clog my face up, although this may well have been down to my skin and not the make up. But i do felt like it wouldnt let my skin breathe in a sense and i didnt like the fact that it only came in way that you couldnt rub it with your hands into your face that it only came so u could rub it on with the sponge. Though all people differ and whilst some really like this make up i have to say it wasnt for me and not one that i would recommend, although on the upside the price seemed quite reasonable in comparison to other make ups i have seen recently.
Recommended by a number of friends, I tried this after finding it in department stores at a new, very reasonable price of £12.50 (although cheaper online). I have become a fan because of it's ease of use, great coverage and handy packaging. It is an ideal size to carry in my handbag and with the sponge and mirror included, application is possible anywhere.
The finish is indeed flawless, and you can vary the thickness you need. Because you are using a sponge to apply and not your finger, an even colour is formed and the colour is rich and suitable for my (and many others) skin tone.
The only bugbear is that I have not found it useful for the areas directly under my eyes because of it's consistency. I have been able to cover undereye concealer with other foundations but this is more difficult with this one as it can leave a dull finish.
The colour is longstanding throughout the day, needing minimal applications.
Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Skin Balancing Makeup is an excellent product that I have used for years and years - always try others and end up back to good old Flawless finish - half my family also wear it too! This 2 in 1 compact is excellent coverage - I would say full. It really does make your skin look flawless. I have sun damage marks all over my face and it completely covers them, It doesn't clog around your eyes like some foundations can and has a lovely glow to it - not at all powdery which is what I love. You have to re-touch-reapply during the day, not great for oily skin as it contains oil so can be greasy on the nose and forehead, but with the right primer you can crack that. I think the best primer is one from GOSH or YSl do a great one.
Honestly, a waste of money for a product that does not last very long on the face! Despite this, it is a nice looking product that comes in a cute compact, with application sponge, and is available in a foray of colours, none of which match exactly with your skin tone! It is also mildly fragranced which is not a good idea for those with sensitive skins. I was extrememly dissappointed with this product, I only chose to try it because the makeup artist on the counter made a bee line for me and sold it to me so well, also Elizabeth Arden has been a well known name for years, although it has modernised somewhat these days since my Granny used to wear it! I was excited to try it out after purchasing it, (at a costly sum) and to begin with my skin looked beautiful and flawless, and I thought I had found my perfect foundation, but after a few hours I noticed that I was beginning to look very shiny, and the foundation was coming off in patches...
Needless to say, I never bought this product again. I also noticed that the fragrance in the foundation made my eyes very itchy after a few applications.
However if you are very well off and are not too bothered about a foundation that slips off after a few hours onto your hands or boyfriends shoulders, then this is the product for you!
Well this is by far the best foundation I have used in my life!
I struggle finding something that suits my skin because it's quite dry and sensitive. I mean, I have to be careful what face wash and face cream I use else i'll break out in patches of dry, itchy skin that are so obvious, it's embarrasing! So, as you can imagine, I struggled to find a foundation that would not irritate my skin.
But voila! Along came this foundation!
I currently use Sun Beige, but thats only for the past 2 weeks...I use to swear by Honey Beige, but it was just abit too dark for my skin. I've been using this sponge on flawless finish foundation for about 4 years now...I swear by it. My mum and my aunty alos swear by it and have been using it for about 20 years!
This foundation, glides on with ease, and gives you such a perfect finish! It's long lasting, you may only need to top it up once half way through the day.
Some people have told me, I spend too much money on foundation....but I tell them, whats £12.50 when it makes your skin look this good! It lasts me about 3 months in total before I need to buy a new one! Maybe the price is abit hefty for some people, but believe me, you won't even remember how much the product was once you start using it!
This product does not make my skin itch or look blotchy by the end of the day like the majority of foundations tend to do. For example, liquid foundations are the worst for my skin...I end up with a blotchy face thats hard to hide. But this is a cream based foundation that you either apply with a wet or dry sponge to give you 2 different finishes.
It's a definate must buy for anyone! There are tons of shades to choose from, so there is a shade out there for everyone!
i have worn flawless finish for between 15 and 20 years now and in that time i havent found anything to compare with it.started wearing it when i worked in boots and kept seeing girls with lovely looking skin always going to the arden counter, it didnt take me long to find out what they were buying and ive bought it ever since. ok its expensive - or i used to think it was - but it lasts about 6 months, and these days you can buy it for about £12, and these days a rimmel foundation can cost you nearly that much. I dont agree with other comments on here about the name being misleading as in flawless. i have always had awful skin, but nobody knows exept me, ok so i cant hide a big lump of a spot, but im always being told i have lovely skin.
