      Lip gloss

Elizabeth Arden High shine lip duo

One of my recent "summer" purchases, I bought this along with a further selection of Elizabeth Arden products.

The lip gloss itself promises to be twice as shiny and twice as sheer, although it doesn't state what it is being compared against. The product has been dermatologically tested and because I have used Elizabeth Arden products before, I know that I will be ok with this one.

The lip gloss comes nicely packaged in a shimmery box, with a design which is evocative of summer days and nights. Opening the box, I find, (no surprises here) a double ended lip gloss; one side is sunrise and the other side is sunset. Each end of the gloss is unscrewed as needed and there is a small white brush with which to apply it.

As expected, the sunrise colour is lighter than the sunset. Both colours, when applied, are shimmery, and leave a real gloss on the lips. Both colours leave a very faint colour on the lips and because they are translucent, they can be worn on top of other lipsticks. However, because they are so faintly coloured, I like them for a very subtle colour during the day.

The lip gloss is not at all sticky, but somehow manages to moisturise the lips whilst at the same time "staying put". I have noticed that I can even have a drink and some of the lip gloss will still be there. This is good news for anyone who prefers not to have to keep lips completely dry and not touching anything for fear of it coming off. It's also good for me through the day, because I can keep my lips moisturised without having to keep reapplying.

This is widely available in department stores, and costs around the £8 mark

Although not the cheapest lip gloss I have ever bought, I like this one. The colours are subtle, it applies easily, and my lips are left moisturised for longer than I would think is average- I can get a couple of hours from an application as long as I don't do too much licking! The lip gloss also has a very slight shimmer which makes it look more summery, but there is not so much that the shimmer becomes the main thing.

For anyone wanting a sunshine inspired subtle lip gloss to wear alone or over other shades, I would recommend this one.
      Thanks for reading.
