Having dry and somewhat unpredictable skin can make it difficult for me to find a foundation that suits me. I've tried a variety of brands over the years and some are too drying and just sit on the skin like a mask (not good for 35 year old skin as this shows all the lines) and some can be too heavy and seem to slide about on the skin. That's where Elizabeth Arden Radiant Moisture Makeup comes into its own.
I first discovered this after beng given a huge bottle by a beautician friend who thought I might like it and I did! So much so it's my foundation of choice and has been for a few years now.
Radiant Moisture foundation is part of Elizabeth Arden's Flawless Finish range. It comes in a lovely black box with gold trim, a red door symbol on it and white writing. It comes in a number of shades as most foundations do but I seem to be unable to find a list anywhere, this may be because it is not a brand new product but if you search for the item on ebay or google a number of shades can be found. I would suggest trying some in a makeup department to ensure you get the right shade though.
The boast is it has SPF8, is suitable for dry skin, gives medium coverage and is infused with vitamins and botanicals and light diffusing particles to give skin a radiant glow. I won't list all the ingredients but I noticed it had got Calendula (marigolds), Green Tea and Ginkgo Biloba in it all of which are good for the skin either as soothers or antioxidants.
I buy mine from ebay and get a 100ml size which is supposed to be salon size for £9.00 including p&p. The price varies from place to place and I've seen smaller bottles going for much more than this online so ebay is a good place to purchase. The bottle I get is plastic but the smaller sizes are glass I believe, my bottle has a white lid with a pointed dispenser on the top that you flip up to dispense foundation the fold down to stop the bottle leaking.
Onto the foundation itself. The consistency of this foundation is much the same as others, a runny cream texture. It goes on the skin well and blends easily because it isn't drying. I use a dot on each cheek, forehead, nose and chin and then rub it into my face and finish by taking any excess off with a tissue. It smooths on well because it is moisturising and doesn't sit in any lines you may have.
The light diffusing particles are tiny little bits of sparkle, these are very small and not really noticeable unless you happen to get one on your fingers as you apply.
The foundation gives good coverage without looking like a mask as so many foundations seem to on my skin. Small imperfections are hidden but a spot would only be toned down and would need concealer as well.
I apply in the mornings over my moisturiser and never think about it during the day, it doesn't move or smudge or crease it just stays where you put it and it makes my skin look healthy and fresh. At the end of the day I remove it with soap and water and it easily comes off. I don't need to follow the soap routine with a seperate cleanser as it's all gone.
I can't find a problem with this foundation, it does exactly as it promises and gives good coverage without looking too heavy, makes the skin fresh and bright, evens the skin tone perfectly and remains as if you'd only just applied it all day long. It's the best foundation I've ever used and I suspect I will continue to use it for years to come.
Thoroughly recommended for those of us with dry skin.
