The essie first base base coat is available for GBP 8.99.
The base coat comes in a bottle with a white cap. On the bottle is the product name. The bottle contains 15 ml.
The base coat is described as follows. "colour adhesive + primer. rubber adhesives bond polish to the nail surface, to protect colour wear and create a smooth canvas for colour application."
If you already painted your nails, then you should also do this properly. For me, this means a good base to rub off to avoid the paint and also to create a good base for the actual polish. The base coat can be applied super easy annd I like the brush of this base coat far the best. They are all a bit wider for a good application and the bristles remain eternally soft so as to guarantee a streak-free operation. The base coat is not visible after application. Very fine, the fact is that it dries extremely fast. Normally, I can already begin about one minute then paint with. A clear advantage is the absolutely smooth surface that the colored paint has then. Thus, the color really be applied evenly and the color is actually already shining. Nothing dyed through and recoating and it works perfectly. Whether my nails now be more resistant or not, I can not say for sure now. The many layers of paint I think that my nails are already quite robust. The base coat really makes my review so not easy. He is top and can apply perfectly, the only thing that is really bothering at this point usually immensely high price.
I can recommend the essie first base base coat, as the base coat can be applied well and protects the applied nail polish.
I've recently become quite the fan of Essie nail polish. With this comes a love of anything nail related and things like top coat and base coat are important to get a good final look. It's worth a decent base coat to protect and strengthen the nail and prevent staining. What's special about this one then? Not only does it protect but it also makes a good adhesive layer so your layer of colour attaches itself to the nail better. First use I wondered what this was going to be like, it being green and all! But never fear, it went on thinly, clear and looked fine on the nail, you'd have never guessed it was green actually. My find and the price I actually bought this from TK Maxx a few months ago for just under four pounds and I've used it a few times since then. Online it appears to retail at around 6 pounds. My thoughts You really can't get over excited about a green base coat but it's still important if you like a nice manicure. I do like that this is thin as it doesn't cause a build up on your nail before you've even started applying the colour as some base coats do. It dries quickly too which is important. The only thing about this that I am not keen on is that you can't really wear it on its own due to the adhesive layer it provides for nail colour. Sometimes when I'm short on time, I will remove previous nail varnish and apply the base coat then go to bed, sleep and apply the colour the next day, but obviously you can't do that with this product. Final word This does seem to help strengthen the nail under the colour and definitely prevents nasty staining with dark colours, which I adore wearing. I think I found a bargain at this price and this is one of my favourite base coats alongside Nails Inc Caviar Base Coat and the Butter London nail foundation I also recently discovered. I do own a lot of stuff but this has worked better for me than the Orly Bonder which is a similar concept of tacky base coat. Would I repurchase? Probably if I could find it for under a fiver!
