As a huge Essie fan, and a bit of a magpie, I knew I had to invest in one of these polishes.
This collection contains five topcoats:
As Gold as it Gets - gold flakes
A Cut Above - pink glitter
Set in Stones - silver glitter
Shine of the Times - irridescent shimmer
Pure Pearlification - pearly shimmer
I chose the shade "A Cut Above" which is a pink glitter, with small, medium and large hexagons of glitter. I was tempted by "Set in Stones" - the same glitter polish but in silver, but already having a fair few silver glitters I decided to branch out into something different!
Like all the Essie polishes this applied well and wasn't too thick and gloopy like some glitter polishes can be. As a topcoat this is really effective and there's a good coverage of glitter with only one coat, but two does give a more even and eye-catching finish!
I like to use this over light-nude tones for work - Essie Fiji and Ciate's Cookies and Cream are my favourites. I also think it would look good over a grey/black colour for a night-time look.
All in all a nice glitter polish, something a bit different to the usual silver glitter topcoat. At £9-10 this is an investment, I haven't seen anything like it from cheaper brands. A must-have for any Essie addict!
I haven't tried any of the other Luxeffects polishes but will definitely be looking out for them in the future.
