      Advantages

      Disadvantages

A lovely colour it just depends on your skin tone

This is my favorite pale lilac polish. It is the most perfect pale lilac shade for my skintone (NC25 with yellow undertones). It's not too pale or bright, not chalky, and has no grey. I love murky polishes but sometimes I want a clean, true color. This color is perfect for spring and summer when I don't want a bright polish. I get perfect coverage in 2 coats and it dries super shiny and smooth. Essie doesn't wear as well on me as OPI so I start to get a little chipping after a couple days, but of course everyone is different. This color always makes me happy! It glides on perfectly and stays on for around three to six days maybe longer with an overcoat. It is a beautiful light lilac in the bottle, and I wish I adored the color as much on my hands. It just doesn't pop on my fair, yellow-toned skin. It's still beautiful, in an understated way. I wish I had more to say about it, but it's just an 'ok' shade in my book. I don't love it or hate it. I just like other polishes more!

      One of my top 5!

I have always admired the Essie range from afar and know that many beauty bloggers really rate this brand so you can imagine my excitement when a bottle of this arrived in my beauty box in an acceptable shade!

      Description
Essie Nice is Nice is a very light lilac cream shade and comes in a glass bottle embossed with the Essie logo and it has a white lid which contains the brush as with most nail varnishes.

      In use
I had a look online to see what this shade looked like on the nail and I could see it was very nice so I didn't hesitate to apply it the night before an important job interview. My nails are rubbish at the moment (to match my hair) and I blame the post pregnancy hormones for this. To this end I needed a nail varnish to hide the flaws on my nails without drawing attention to them. I applied just one coat of Essie Nice is Nice for a subtle sheen which gave my nails a pleasant shine with a lilac shade that didn't make my nails look blue (dead hands). Amazingly this one coat (with a base coat) lasted me a week before I needed to remove it. It had worn away a little but as it was not so obvious as a darker shade so I left it on a couple more days. The removal was easy with a light swipe of nail polish remover.

      My thoughts
I am so thrilled with this nail varnish I can hardly find the words to describe my extreme pleasure. I love nail polishes and have a massive collection but this means it makes it hard for any new polish to enter my top five but I think Essie Nice is Nice is a serious contender. I have tried 2-3 coats of this for a more cream polish look which is nice but to be honest I really prefer the one coat look on my hands, which hides the serious nail issues I have going on right now and also suits a shorter nail which my right hand is currently sporting. Whilst the polish was on I had no major disasters so I think it gave a little protection too.

      Price
Essie was more of an online brand with the occasional 'find' at TK Maxx but Boots have now started stocking it which is rather exciting. They charge £7.99 a bottle which is a mid range price for a polish to me as I am used to paying £11 for Nails Inc.

      Final word
Essie Nice is Nice really is a nice nail polish that is quite neutral and suits most people. The lilac shade is just right as I have seen a lot that are too blue that just looks awful on the nails as if you have no circulation. I am happy to recommend this polish for consistency, two different looks (one coat or three) and also as a great interview colour. I got the job by the way!
