Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Kajal Eyeliner
by Grumpyyoungwoman
I have always had problems with pencil eyeliners that need sharpening I always find they break and crumble or scratch my eyes making them feel very uncomfortable. After reading a review on here and seeing a couple of videos about it on you tube I decided to give it atry. Here is my review:
Packaging
Not an awful lot to ... say really this is a dark purple pencil with scandal eyes embossed in silver on both sides. There is a see through plastic cap for the top. This looks nice and does not get broken in my busy handbag.
Colour and Pigmentation
This is a lovely dark purple, but I believe there is a number of other colours including navy, a peachy gold and an aqua in the collection. Although the purple is very dark it still creates a very nice pop of colour under the eyes and is actually better than mybautomatic eyeliner as it can be distinguished from black.
The Formulation
This is much creamier than I imagined and glides on line a dream it can be quite easy to put too much on though and get panda eyes! The pencil also withstands a sharpening and does not crumple. This can flake a little throughout the day but it is soon wiped away.
This pencil is matte not metallic but I believe there are a couple in the range that are.
Also just to note this is not waterproof but can cope with a hot sweaty face in the sun!
The price
As this is a fairly new range these were a little more expensive than rimmels normal liners at £4.99 but for the colour payoff I feel yhis is worth it. I just wish that the few issues it does have were not there. I would look at buying this again or even buying another colour but it is not a holy grail product for me.

Collection 2000 Fast Stroke Eyeliner
by passionate88
I bought this eyeliner for the first time about 4 years ago and have bought it several times since. It lasts me quite a long time as I only use it for glamming up my make up on nights out rather than for everyday use due to the job I do.
I usually buy the eyeliner from Superdrug, but I believe you can also buy it from Boots ... and some supermarkets like Asda as well that stock Collection 2000. The fast stroke eyeliner cost me £2.99 which as far as I am aware is the standard price charged everywhere. This is an extremely good price to pay for such a good quality liquid eyeliner.
I bought the fast stroke eyeliner in Brown as I am fair skinned so didn't want the eyeliner to look too severe. The fast stroke eyeliner also comes in Black, Blue and Black Waterproof. The brown complimented my fair skin well and had a nice shade to it.
The fast stroke eyeliner has a soft nip applicator rather than a bristle style applicator. This makes applying the eyeliner much easier, and allows you to create smooth, straight lines with the eyeliner. I hate liquid eyeliners that have bristle style applicators as I always end up making a mess with them due to the applicator being too flimsy. So the nib applicator is a great winner with me. The nib style applicator also makes it easy to create flicks by your outer eye with the eyeliner, which is what I do when creating my night time make up look.
The eyeliner bottle is approximately 7cms tall in total and this includes both the handle of the applicator and also the pot that the product is contained within. Most of this length is the applicator, which is very helpful as it allows you to hold the applicator easily making application better. The width of the applicator is just right as well as it allows you to have a nice firm hold, also reducing the chances of making application errors.
The consistency of the liquid eyeliner is also just right. I have used other well-known liquid eyeliners before and the consistency has been too thick meaning you have to drag the product alone your eyes which can irritate them quite easily. Or the product has been too thin and you have trouble getting the eyeliner to stay put.
I work long 12 and a half hour shifts, and the only flaw this liquid eyeliner has is the fact that when you have been working in a warm environment for this amount of time the eyeliner looks like it has started to flake/crack. I don't know whether this is just due to the heat of the environment I work within, and others therefore would not have this problem. Also, this can be corrected with a bit of a touch up.
Overall, I love the Collection 2000 fast stroke eyeliner and will continue to buy it as long as they sell it. Read the complete review |

Avon Glimmersticks Eye Liner
by emmad5689
I don't wear much make up but when I do I try and make my eyes quite bold as I wear glasses and feel that generally takes away from the look of my eye make up. I bought this eye liner from Avon as when I was an Avon representative it was an excellent seller so I believed it would be a great product.
The product is only ... available from Avon either direct from their website where there is a delivery charge or from an Avon representative with free delivery. I bought the eye liner for £3 which was half price as they usually sell at £6, I never buy anything from Avon full price as their products always come on offer so regularly I would see it as a waste of money.
There are currently comes in 5 different shades, blackest black, Majestic Plum, Starry Night Blue, Cosmic Brown and Saturn Grey. I personally only ever wear black so selected the Blackest Black version.
The eye liner came packaged in a shiny black cardboard box which was very simple packaging, inside there was the product and I placed the box in the recycling. The eye liner is like a pencil but it is made of black plastic with a lid over the end of it to cover the nib of it to keep it clean when not in use.
To use the eye liner you simply need to remove the lid which just pulls off and then using the nib underneath apply to the eye lids as you choose, I personally just use eyeliner on my bottom lid and slightly on my upper lid just in the outer corners. I find the eye liner is very easy to use and no pressure is really needed for the product to transfer where you want it.
The eye liner works on the same sort of function as a lypsyl does and to reveal more of the nib you simply need to twist the end of the casing and more will be pushed out and then if you have twisted too much out you can twist it back in the opposite way. I really like that the product doesn't need sharpening as I have found previously that the nib can become too sharp when you have to sharpen it where as this one has a lovely smooth rounded nib.
I really like this eye liner and find it stays on for the majority of a day which is great, I paid a decent price and there is a good range of colours. I rate this 5 stars and when the one I have finally runs out I will buy another. Read the complete review |
