I bought this mascara from boots about a year ago when I was looking for some new products to try. I really love trying new mascaras and have used a wide variety of brands, with varying success. 17 is not a brand I usually buy from as my experience with their products across the board has never been great. I think there are other budget brands out there that offer better quality making this one not all that appealing. That said, I am open to trying something new and thought I would give it a go.
I liked the design of the mascara, which comes in a square shaped pink plastic tube. I thought the look of it was nice and the promise of false effect eyelashes was an appealing one for me. The tube has a twist lid which you turn and then pull to reveal the brush. This mascara has a large, round bristle brush with evenly spaced bristles. I thought the brush looked good and this only added to my desire to try the mascara.
The mascara fluid evenly coats the brush and this means it goes on easily. However, the fluid itself is thick and clumps very easily. It also flakes when it dries and is simply one of the world fluids I have ever experienced. I could wear it for an hour at the moment before I would find it flaking off onto my face. Because it is flaky and clumps it therefore also looks terrible and gave my eyelashes a horrible spidery appearance.
As the time since I have bought this mascara has lengthened the quality of the mascara fluid has become worse and worse until, 2 months later, it has become unusable. Most mascaras usually last me anywhere from 4-8 months worth of use because I own a lot and use them each sporadically. This mascara has the worst life span of all of them and has now become thick and sticky.
The brush has very soft and bendable bristles which are not a great combination with the fluid which tends to stick them to the brush. I found applying this an unpleasant experience and the effects even worse. It cost me £6.50 for a 9ml tube which is relatively cheap compared to other products on the market. That said, I would absolutely never buy this again because I found it to be a terrible product of very poor quality.
Overall, an underwhelming mascara that has affirmed everything I originally thought about the brand.
Was looking for a cheap mascara that made my lashes look long and thick without the spider leg look, I found it! I have many mascaras sat in my makeup bag that have just been tried the once and never used again but this is the one that i always pick out and rebuy.
I am always looking out for a new mascara, having not found one that suits me yet. The other day one of my Advantage card offers was getting this mascara for free when buying any other 17 product. I jumped at the chance and scurried off to Boots with my voucher.
The mascara is normally within the £7 region, so despite 17 being seen as a cheaper make, being Boots own brand, this price is not that much cheaper than the likes of Maybelline, Max Factor or No 7. It comes in a very striking looking bottle, which is slightly rectangular in a bright pink colour with black writing which definitley makes it stand out on the shelf. It looks as it it is aimed at younger girls / teen because of the black against the shocking pink and is not as subtle as the likes of No 7, Max Factor, etc.
This mascara is intended to give you the look of wearing false lashes, but whilst wearing a mascara, so similar to others on the market such as Max Factor 'False Lash Effect', Maybelline 'Falsies', etc.
The first thing I noticed was how big the brush is, it has very large, thick bristles, in a rectangular shapes so each 'set' of bristles seems to be on a flat edge rather than a rounded one. The mascara seems to look quite thick, as if it would be cloggy to apply, however, it also looks very glossy as if it would glide on, rather than a matte looking mascara.
When applying it is easy enough and glides on smoothly. It really catched the eyelashes in the middle of the eye and lengthens them. This gave me a really opened eye look and make eyes 'pop'. Despite this, due to the size of the brush I found it particuarly hard to reach the inner corner lashes. This was okay, as I could lengthen my outer corner ones and still get a good look, however I prefer to apply my mascara over all my lashes so was a little dissapointed in this. After a few times using the brush and learning how to hold the brush I was able to apply the mascara to the inner corners, however, it was not the easiest to do so.
I did find that when I first applied it seemed to smudge around my eye socket, however, I think this was just due to it being new and the brush was collecting too much mascara as after a few uses it didn't seem to do this.
The mascara did do what it intended to do and lengthened my eyelashes greatly and defined my eye, especially when worn with eyeliner. It also made my eyelashes look thicker and added more volume to them, but didn't make them all spidery and clumpy. It also added great definition to each of my eyelashes and instead of clumping all my eyelashes together, it seemed to coat each eyelash individually in order to give my eyelashes a really defined look.
The mascara stayed as it should all day, without any smudging around the eye area or any flaking, which I was pleased to see. The mascara was easy to remove, however, did take a little more eye make up remover than some of the 'lighter' mascaras.
Overall, I would definitley reccomend this item if you are after longer, fuller looking lashes. Though I don't believe it gives you the look of 'falses lashes', it gives you the next best look you can achieve with a mascara! I much preferred it over the likes of Max Factor false lash effects which claims to do the same things but for a much dearer price, therefore you are getting a saving plus a better mascara!
Product: Falsifeye Mascara
I was out shopping one Saturday afternoon when I popped into my local Boots store. As soon as I entered the store I noticed that on one of the promotional stands was the launch of a new product, which on closer inspection was a newly released mascara.
For people who know me they can confirm that I'm a total mascara addict, I love mascaras and if I were to choose just one favourite item from my make up collection it would definitely be a mascara. For the simple reason that I feel it's the one make up product which gives the eyes a instant transformation, applying this definitely keeps me looking more awake and alert.
The Mascara was from the 17 brand which is exclusive to Boots stores and costs £6.49 which I feel is a reasonable price for a lower end brand mascara. I bought the Black shade mascara but it's also available in the brown shade, the different shades are clearly stated on a sticker attached at the bottom of the mascara tube.
The packaging is very simple, a hard plastic block colour with the logo of the mascaras name embedded on the front in a different colour font and also as a screw top lid. The mascara brush is quite large with soft bristles, it's very easy to apply to the lashes and builds great volume, perfect. I find the mascara formula as just the right consistency and before applying it never as any excess mascara on the brush which is a huge plus point for me as i find a lot of mascaras have this problem.
Falsifeye Mascara as definitely became one of my favourite eye products. The mascara makes my lashes lusciously long, jet black, non clumpy and best of all gives that special wow factor.
For a daytime look i normally just apply one coat to my lashes, but for a more glam evening look i build it up and apply two coats to my lashes, you can instantly tell the difference between the two and i love how i can create two different looks from the one product.
My mascara lasts throughout the day/evening and is easy to remove with a make up wipe or my usual face wash.
Falsifeye mascara is definitely a product which I will continue to buy time and time again, it's one of the best mascaras i've used in a long time and for me it definitely compares to that of a higher end brand mascara and trust me i've tried more than a few, bargain.

In my quest for beautiful long lashes I am complete suckered into believing the adverts and claims of beauty companies. You're now hard pushed to find a mascara that doesn't promise to make your eyelashes 3x longer (can you imagine if this was true!) or 10x more volume or any number of other lies... Falsifeye promises to make it look like you're using false lashes.
Falsifeye comes in a hot pink bottle with a simple screw top. The brush is straight and thick with soft 'bristles'. To be honest I prefer a straight brush to a curved/ spiral/ knotted brush, so it's perfect for me (who even has spiral shaped lashes anyway!?). You can buy this mascara in black, blackest black (whatever that is) or brown depending on your preference. I have the palest lashes known to man, so I always plump for black mascara to make my eyes 'pop'.
The mascara 'liquid' is fairly standard in appearance and smell. When you pull the brush out, there's just enough mascara on it - no need to scrape off excess and no need to keep dipping back into the tube. The mascara coats the lashes nicely and is clump free every time. For a normal 'day look' I usually apply two coats, for a more 'intense' look I'll apply a few more for good luck!
Whilst you're not going to get a false lash look without actually wearing false lashes (obviously!) the mascara does make my lashes look longer. It's not a volumising mascara, but it does seem to coat each lash individually producing a really nice look. The shape of the brush means it's really easy to coat even the lashes at the corners of your eye. It also doesn't leave my lashes feeling heavy due to the fact that the mascara lightly coats each lash.
The mascara lasts throughout the day but is easily removed with make up remover at night. It's not a waterproof mascara, so if you are prone to fits of hysterics it's probably not the mascara for you.
The mascara is produced by 17, and is currently selling at £6.49 in Boots for 9ml, which is a slightly lower price than some of the 'mainstream' mascaras. As you only need two coats, and there're no clumps when applying, the tube actually lasts quite a long time. Rimmel and Maybeline seem to lead the way in 'magic' mascaras, but this one by 17 is, in my opinion, just as good if not better.
Normally I switch mascara every time I finish a tube; I think it's that feeling of buying 'something new'. However, I will be (shock horror) buying this mascara again. As an everyday mascara this is perfect and I haven't found anything which produces clump free, longer lashes every single time. This is a definite winner!
I was out shopping with my sister one day and we were browsing the make up in boots. I didn't really need anything to be honest but there was an offer on where by if you bought the boots 17 brand falsifeye mascara you would get a little pot of gel eyeliner free and so I thought I would give it a go despite not really using the 17 brand for anything more than powder to set my foundation.
The mascara did catch my attention on the shelf as it was contained in an all pink tube which along side all the black tubes did stand out. It said on the packaging that the product was new and that it would give a false lash effect for your own lashes. The product name is written in bold black writing along the body of the tube which again really stands out as it works well with the pink.
When you screw off the lid of the mascara you can see a large brush which to be honest just reminds me of the brushes of many years ago, way before all these fancy ones came out with little balls on the end! In all honesty I couldn't care less what the brush looks like as long as it gives me a good finish to my eye make up though. The brush is designed to be big so that it can cover all the lashes from corner to corner to apparently give a false lash effect.
Using the mascara is easy really although the brush does get quite a lot of mascara on it so I do like to wipe off any excess using the top of the tube just to avoid wasting too much and also ended up with matted eye lashes from using too much product. The mascara coats the lashes well and does give them a little extra length and definition but in terms of creating a false eye lash look, well I am sorry but there is no way using this would make me look like I had false lashes on! The mascara does create a nice look which is pretty natural I find and it does tend to last for most of the day. When I work I do not feel the need to top up my mascara anyway and I do tend to use this product for work rather than nights out as I like my lashes to stand out more on a night out than when I am at work. The mascara does work better with two coats I find and will curl the lashes quite nicely for during the day.
Removing the mascara isn't too difficult and I tend to use baby wipes to do this at the end of the day so I am sure if you used a proper make up remover it would be even easier to do.
The mascara comes in two colours which is highlighted by a sticker on the bottom of the tube. I actually picked up brown my mistake not realising that there were two colours but the nice girl at the check out checked did I want brown or black and actually went and swapped it for me. You can pick the product up from boots where it will cost you £6.49 and to be honest I won't be buying it again once mine runs out as I just think there are better ones on the market.
